You do realize that this doesn't change even with a random judge? Moreover, the ability to bribe the judge is part of the rules.

 

No, seriously:

 

The referee calls the winner. Referees can be bribed, however they don't come cheap.

 

Me being the official judge would not change the ruleset in the slightest, nor would it add an aspect to the game that doesn't already exist. All it would mean is that two people who want to do a DM would have to inform me first (not for permission, that's still whoever's in charge of games) just so that I can come on when it's done and declare a winner.
