I think they're those Italian... or is it Greek? cookies that are made on a waffled thingy you dip in hot oil with just a wee bit of cookie batter on... what are they called? they have them at fairs sometimes.... anisette flavored.... but maybe these are different things...

the cookies you are thinking of are called pizels(sp). I had a pizel maker once but I lost it in a move. I love the anice flavored ones.

 

yes, that's the ones.... I used to have one too but ... really not practical for home use.

The biscuits are just chocolate digestives lol - a mainstay of the english biscuit market :)

 

still yummy.
