Blackhoof has been lynched on Day 1 or 2 in nearly every game I've played with him. The day he doesn't act scummy is when I will call him scum. I think that this Hoof lynch is one of convienence in an effort to distract off the Smiley lynch on Day 1 and now we are totally ignoring the case of Eternal Phoenix for Hoof.

I think scummy players need to be lynched if they are scummy in spite of that meta. Otherwise, they will never learn to play pro-town and will be able to get away with ridiculously scummy plays as scum. Hoof defended Smiley about as strongly as a cop with an innocent read would have. He could very well be relying on his typical scumminess to let him get away with that play.

On Womby's theory, scummy players are not always scum. In fact, I contend that the real scum often try to overtly act town. That is why the Eternal Phoenix lynch works for me more than anything right now.

what! i said two things in two separate posts- dont be mean to a newbie, and i do not think he is scum.if i had finder info on him i would have been FAR more vocal in hsi defence, right until the end, i probably would have revealed even.FOS@wombat for exaggerating to get me lynched :\anyway, with finder info on SongS, i clearly need to Unvote, Vote Eternal Phoenixi know that i seem like an attractive lynch candidate, but that would be a mistake. i am powerless (virtually), but i am on a mason team. i do not want to reveal my teammates, and i wont if they dont want to come forward, but know that i AM town.eternal phoenix has been acting noobish, as can be expected, and i do nto like to lynch noobs. however, it is wrong to give them a complete free pass, and he HAS been acting scummy.FOS@Sakaea for his flip-flopping

I can definitely get behind an Eternal Phoenix lynch. I'm tired of his "LOOK AT HOW TOWN I AM, GUYS" posts that serve only the purpose of trying desperately to look town.

 

Also, he hammered Smiley after spending a bulk of the time trying to distract us onto another lynch. His hammer vote came likely when the mafia had all but given up on Smiley taking one for the team.

This. Exactly my feelings about Hoof, yes his defense of Smiley is extremely bizarre (especially how sure he was about Smiley's alignment on the first friggin day), but it's just what I've come to expect from Hoof and I feel like supporting a Hoof lynch at this point is just lobbin softballs for the mafia team.

True, and for all we know Hoof might even make obvious blunders intentionally just so he's more likely to clear, but if this was the case I think he'd survive a bit longer or have a better success rate in his games. It's not that I want to clear him on meta, but at this point his lynch just feels like a lazy option.

 

Either way I've already said that EP was pinging me the most out of any player, so since there's already support for a lynch on him I'm happy to Vote EP

 

@Mynd: You never answered my question from before. How is it scummy to ask for info that is usually given with coroner reports? I know the setup of this game might make that a little different, but I don't see how trying to get more information to scumhunt with is a bad thing.

Mynd plays a very attacking style of game, so don't try to let it get to you too much. That said, I agree with the point you make about the bandwagoning votes.

Oh that was a legit vote I'm pretty sure he is scum, first he was dead set on songstress until you said you used finder on her (which to stay on her after that would be a deadset giveaway) then goes for the person most likely to turn out town due to his lack of knowing anything about the game therefore vehemently tries to be town (which in a way we all are as we all try to play to make other townies believe we are town from what I've gathered so far) but based on just the fact that both people he has vehemently gone after have turned out to be or will turn out to be town I say to you Mynd Scum.

I was poking him about that because I took it as him trying to confirm or deny if any healing powers were out of the game. That was all. I was more waiting to see how he reacted to that to see if there was any merit to pursuing it further.

Since you want us all to treat you like a newb, allow me to explain some things.

1) OMGUS - Oh My God U Stink (or other variations of that las word) is when an angry player, often scum, is votes the person who calls them out on their scummy behavior. These votes are often knee-jerk reacitions that have little if any actual basis. They also often make the person casting the OMGUS vote look even more desperate and suspicious because they cannot defend their actions properly.

2) No one is town until proven otherwise. If you are town and another player votes for you because of something you did, then it doesn't necessarily make them scum. You may know you are town, but they may not. Put your effort into defending yourself before voting them back (see OMGUS above)!

3) Besides yourself, the only people who know for sure who isn't mafia is the mafia themselves. To accuse someone of trying to lynch townies implies that you have some prior or established knowledge of who is town and who isn't.

4) When you are scum and your teammates decide "Dang, we're gonna have to make Smiley take one for the team, everyone vote him so you don't look scummy," you don't then just casually switch your vote at the last minute without any explanation. If you have been spending the bulk of the day trying to deflect and distract off your scummate's bandwagon, only to have it fall apart, you have to hammer his lynch with style.

5) No one is a true newbie. All you need to do in this game is use logic and deductive reasoning (and a bit of tossing the dice). Asking the mod a question is different than grandstanding in front of everyone with your question so that everyone see's how innocent you look. The only purpose for such actions is to make up for a guilty conscience.

I do get frustrated when people vote for the sake of voting, but often when lynches build too fast without much resistence, it means that 1) the lynch target is likely town and 2) many of the bandwagoniers are likely scum. Its those slow, argumentative lynches that ping scum to me.

Again, someone accusing you of being scummy doesn't necessarily make them scum. No majority lynch can be reached without the town's concent, so by your logic, everyone who votes for a town player to be lynched is scum. If that were true, then the game would already be over.

 

I don't believe Blackhoof is scum in this game. I could be wrong, but I am bassing my assumption on his posts in this game, his playstyle (OMG META!), and the reactions of others around him.

 

I do believe Eternal Phoneix is scum. I could also be wrong here, but I am basing my assumption because of his over-use of "OMG IM NEW" posts, his blatant attempts at distracting from the Smiley lynch on Day 1, his case-less hammering of Smiley when we neared deadline, and his overall reactions to several fingers pointed in his direction. In a normal dice-tossing game, they would have equal chance at being scum, but based on these logical and educated assumptions, I feel EP has a better chance than Blackhoof at being scum.

 

Does that make better sense?
