the problem I'm seeing is that the case made on you was silly

you know it obviously

but instead of trusting that townies wont actually lynch you for something so silly you panicked and started trying to argue the logic of something that had no logic to begin with

to me that's a scumtell

 

What panic? I've said already multiple times, I am making a case for who I think is scum. I am not panicking. How is calmly and logically trying to lay out an argument for someone you believe to be scum panicking?

 

anywho, while i do not think his "oh no" post was particularly bad, he has proven overdefensive about it since. therefore, i shall do this:

Foir what seems like the gazillionth time, I'm not being defensive about this at all, let alone overdefensive. Offense and defense are by their very definitions two different and opposite things. And I have been on the offense here. In the time I've been at Mafia, I've learned that making a vote without an explanation for it is a scumtell. Ithi and Maw have both done this, and Maw still has yet to post a rationale for his vote other than calling my post "damning", which doesn't really explain any of his reasoning whatsoever. Ithi did post an explanation when asked, but I find it suspect.

 

But no. All you lot can do is sit around and discuss how defensive I'm supposedly being, without stopping to consider the blatantly obvious scumtells sitting right in front of you, which I've already pointed out. When Ithi and Maw NK you, don't expect me to save you.

Also - because you are new I will explain this, and I am sorry I didn't have the time to help you with your game when you asked, but throwing out a Vote on a hunch just because something seems a little off is sometimes just how it is - then you sit and watch how the person you voted for reacts. And who supports the Lynch and who defends the lynchee. Its a classic tactic that has been used in battles of all kinds since battles were recorded.

 

You are rambling a little by the way ... And I probably should point out that threats and things are another Mafia Tell. The thing is Basel, I'm Town - and I tested your reaction because I had a bad feeling about you. Maw may be Town, or he may be Mafia and just held his hands up at your reaction and decided to bus you.

I guess it's too late for CPR on Songstress? Too bad. I was way off the mark on that one. The whole Basel thing is a non-issue in my opinion. Ithi used his comment to push his buttons and he's pushing back. Wombat assures us that Despo is scum, but then admits that he is not sure of it. He simply believes he was targeted to throw people off of Despo's track. For what it's worth, I am still suspicious of Despo. Unfortunately, someone has stolen my vote for the day. I'll VOTE DESPO just to prove the point.

it might just be because you're a bit newer to mafia

but I think lynching you is the safer move at this point

if you're mafia that's awesome

if you're town we can look at who jumped on your bandwagon quickly and with little comment and put some pressure on them

but it's kind of a bad mindset to have

I believe the argument goes "soandso is good and finds mafia a lot but this game they haven't therefore they must be mafia"

 

we've all had bad games and I don't think we should bump ANYONE up to "master" status because we're just setting them up to die

look at DPR and Kivam

IIRC part of the reason they don't play around here so much anymore is that people expect so much from them and if they aren't nightkilled because they're not on the mafia team they're lynched for fear that they ARE on the mafia team

it makes it not fun for them

 

also I'm sure they're fairly busy with life and stuff but I think that at least contributes to them not playing as often

Whatever. Just... I'm done, vote how you will. One more thing I've seen through experience is that when you screw up, regardless of whether you are scum or town, then there is nothing you can say or do to convince people who've made a train for you. If/when I die, I can at least have the satisfaction of watching everyone's reaction. (Hey, that rhymes.) I do want to address this, though, since Nol popped in while I was typing my last post:

This kind of falls flat, since I had found scum, or at the very least thought I had. Once you find scum, it strikes me as better to press the case against the ones you currently have. I didn't feel any need to continue scumhunting for the time being. Your second point that I quoted might even make less sense if I assume for argument's sake that I am Mafia. Since I had made accusations, wouldn't "looking for imaginary scum" be exactly what I was doing?

I was going to mention this as well. Why would he be looking for imaginary scum if he were town, Nolder? That doesn't make a lot of sense.

if he's mafia all he can do is defend himself rather than make cases against other players he knows are not mafia

 

a lot of newer players who have never been mafia before struggle with making cases against someone they know is not a mafia member
