yet after that quote you and others continued a discussion on it. which still relates to pressuring me indirectly to reveal whet

I'm not gonna comment on "others" but for myself I only made a single comment after I said I wouldn't pursue the issue and that was merely a clarification of an earlier post I made to Levity which I'll include below

no pressure was intended on my part

if I wanted to pressure you further I never would have agreed to let it go in the first place

That's kind of odd, didn't she already answer your question before?

did she?

if you guys want to think me talking about my fav X-man is role hinting, then on your own heads be it.

I saw this as a "no."

I suppose that's it for that conversation, though. I just had this idea in mind that maybe Nolder in particular was looking for whomever Gambit was or something, but this iiis a basic game, so...

that wasn't a clear "no" in my opinion

@Turin: I picked up on that as well

As this game is open to free communication... Was that a Rogue hint there? If so, I don't like how Turin threw that out on thread.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Touch me and find out! ;)

Received this PM from BGrishinko just now, here is my response. I'm all for open communication in this game, especially when we wanna keep things from the scum; however, the nature of his question seems like he wants to do his rolefishing privately.

Also, he tosses a slam at Turin as well. Distancing himself from him already?

for what it's worth I got the idea that you were hinting Rogue as well

if so many people picked that up I'm guessing the scum likely picked it up as well

although now that you've brought it up on thread I suppose that doesn't matter

I figured a lot of people got the hint, Its just strange that BG would resort to PM rather than open communication. If I wanted to keep it a secret about my hint, I wouldn't have put it in the thread. The only thing I can see his reason for secrecy is to not appear to be role-fishing - and his suspicion of Turin, who didn't really come out and say I was Rogue, reeks of BG trying to distance himself from Turin.

Dang, I was all set to start posting True Blood pics too. I guess I'll be alone with my Sookie Stackhouseness...

Actually, after reading the most recent posts, Unvote: Mynd

Is this game really open communication? Because I have something to say myself, but eh.

Hrmph. I see how it is. It was a hint by Mynd to be sure, he obviously wanted some people to pick up on it without it being too out in the open. People who'd shown they know enough about the theme to get the clue. This was a way to let him know I got the message without coming out and announcing it to the whole thread. And yeah, I didn't like it how Turin announced it to the thread. Especially for folks who aren't as familiar with X-Men. It's all out in the open now though, so whatever.

Since PMing is allowed, then sometimes it comes in handy to get a reaction out of one person without everyone reacting to it. I find it very interesting that he'd post it here like sending a PM to him automatically makes me scum, when I was looking for clues of who to trust.

@Nolder, yeah I said I'm observing. Doesn't mean I'm ignoring and not participating.

having had experience playing in chat mafia games where PMing is allowed

what BG did is not inherently scummy

although his distancing from Turin is noted

I'm also noting Mynds decision to inform us immediately instead of playing it out to see what info he could get from BG

I'm not sure if I think that is scummy or townie yet although I'm leaning townie

5. You may discuss the game with whoever you like, by PM or by QT. All that I ask is that I am either linked to the QT, or included in the PM. I like to see teh plotting  However, be aware that you do not know who you are really talking to!

Oh, I see.

Meh, I've never been so good with OC games. This should be interesting though o: I'm curious as to why Mynd threw that out into the open, too, but I'm more leaning town on Mynd after recent content which is why I unvoted him.

That is decidedly un-Myndlike. I have played many a game with Mynd and it is in his nature to gather as much information as possible. The fact that he threw this out without attempting to continue communication and gather information that would help in the long run seems out of character to me.

OK, here are some of my thoughts.

First off, I just want to say Gill's example of my being active over in the Wolfkin mafia is funny because that game hasn't moved in days. My last post there was 2 days ago, but it is still one of the more recent posts. Besides the point though.... because he's right in that I've been active all over the rest of DM.... just a funny example in my mind.

Well, without going too much into a totally different game thread, I had been figuring that the lack of posts the last couple days there had been just the typical nighttime slowdown, since the scum don't discuss their kills on-thread.

I think Red was just saying she liked Gambit and pretended to talk like Gambit for fun, just because... why not? Unless she's trying to pull a.... wait for it.... GAMBIT! OH SNAP!

LOL, this was worth a chuckle. Thanks for the laugh.

@Songstress... if you think that was a wall of text (WoT as well ironically call it), you should wait and see what Red can deal out later on. Or Despo if you ever get in a game with him.

I've seen Red's wall of text, it's quite impressive.

I spent quite a bit of time last night reading the guides to scumhunting, tells, and such on the Mafia wiki. However, I suppose that the best way to learn is real game experience.

My problem is the question itself in the context of using PMs. If I've already hinted at being a character, why the need to ask me privately unless he wanted to appear to not be rolefishing. That and the desperate purpose to distance himself from Turin reeks of scum.

If you received an unsolicited PM from a player who has been quiet in the game who asked such a question while purposefully distancing himself from another player, would you not find that fishy?

Perhaps they were counting on me to be Myndish....so the Mynd thing to do in this case is NOT be Mynd.

Mynd, I would also find that suspicious, especially if it didn't include the mod in the PM. It's at the very least worth an FoS.It's not exactly a cardinal sin or anything really heavy, but it does smell funky.

By asking to be included in any conversations that go on, and I thought this was clear, correct me if it wasn't, if there are PMs happening that I'm not included in, and I find out about them, the persons involved will be dealt with accordingly.

@Mynd- Yes, it is fishy, but I believe in the old saying "keep your friends close and your enemies closer". In your situation, I would have done the same thing I did in your Heroes game way back when. Recruit the people you think are scum in order to keep an eye on them. It really disturbs me that you did not make any attempt at all to gather info beyond noting that he was distancing himself from Turin. That information by itself is not going to be very useful unless he gets lynched at some point and flips scum. Even then, he may have just been setting up a townie to get lynched on the next day.

@Nolder- My point exactly. Any information gathered would have been of help, at least to Mynd, after BG's death regardless of how he flipped.

Blackhoof's post pinger me hard. It's 90% defending Nolder, 9% a rip on Basel for a vote that he already explained was talked to about, and 1% making fun of Mynd for his not-so-veiled threat. Then he votes for Mynd. I don't buy it.

VOTE BLACKHOOF

well, i like responding to everything that i can, even if they are unrelated. i re-voted for mynd because his actions (not just the ones i quoted) have been making me ansty.

It's Deja Vu all over again....and again....and again.....

Speaking of Deja Vu, this post was about to be a vote Hoofy post, but I hesitate because don't we end up lynching Hoofy first in EVERY FRIGGEN GAME?! His post is like written by a dog in a park. "YEah, I think Nolder is a jerk and....SQUIRREL!!" and then votes me.

i never said nolder is a jerk..... i was merely responding to lots of different stuff, none of which had changed my opinion that you were the scummiest person in the game.

I'm leaning more towards Basel Gill right at the moment. His vote on Nolder was one of those convenient slip-past votes to get Nolder on the high lynch, but then he backtracks saying it was a joke vote. I don't think it was.

But the man with the same initials also pings me a bit. BG shows up only when Basel Gill votes him?

Nolder seems to actually be doing some scum-hunting. Now before you do the...well, Myndrunner thing and start hollering "WHY ARE YOU DEFENDING NOLDER?!" look at it this way. Nolder is sticking his scruffy neck out and doing actual casing, while there are a lot of us who are sitting back and reacting. So, I don't see us gaining anything by his lynch and I don't see him as mafia.

Red may not be Gambit. If she was, there really is no harm in revealing as such since there are bigger Howletts to fry in this game, I can imagine. I think a lot of us just wanna last through D1 so we can use are awesome (and in some cases REALLY awesome) powers.

its a basic game, how awesome can you get?

My vote stands on Basil Gill until a better option presents itself to me. Or I make it present itself. ;)

Damn. Now I want a cookie. >:(

I've kept up with today's posts but my brain is burnt out after too little sleep, a 10 hour work day, and trying to appear smart in my other mafia game (which I'm relatively sure I failed to do).

That PM issue with BG and Mynd is sufficient reason for me to keep my vote where it is right now... definitely strikes me as suspicious. Was questionable enough when he wasn't posting at all, now he's trying to prod at people behind the scenes and avoid letting the rest of us learn from the questions and answers... Hmm.

Also, Hoof is clearly evil for making me want a cookie. That is all.

BG isn't scum just because he PM'd Mynd. Anyone who's played with BG before knows that he's devious, whether as town or as scum. Was it scummy? I don't think so, Kae gave us the ability to communicate outside the game, so why wouldn't he, or any of us for that matter, take her up on it? If it's available to us, it's the same as having the ability to vote, it's a game mechanic, use it if you want.

Now, that being said, do I trust him? Not as far as I can throw him, of course not. Then again, I don't trust any of you at this point, nor should I. And as far as BG is concerned, he's one of the better players here, so until he's vetted, I trust him less than most, but the fact that he PM'd Mynd means less than nothing to me. I wish I had thought of it, maybe I would have done it too. Getting any kind of info, in any way possible, is something any of us should think to do.

Now, is Mynd the one that I would go to, to make a move with? Not a chance, he is someone that would use that move against me, as has already been proven, based on his actions. If I were BG, I'd have PM'd a weaker player (like me) to get some reaction with. Mynd is definitely someone that is looking to use whatever he can to case any action made by any of us.

So, the fact that he messaged Mynd tells me that he wanted to work with one of the better players. Is that town or scum? It's impossible to tell right now. And since we have plenty of time on D1, I'm not calling him out until we have more to go on.

Posted

BG is just trying to keep his streak of getting me killed in games intact. By any means necessary. I don't know why he didn't like my mentioning Mynd's hint. It was kind of obvious. Particularly after he had bashed Red for "Blatant" character claiming. whatever.

That is a good looking cookie Hoof. I'm thinking I might need to make some now. Well maybe tomorrow. It is kinda late.
