Out of nowhere, Wolverine appeared. Magneto hadn't been expecting an enemy here, of all places. His short-sightedness was the death of him. As he fell, his face carved to ribbons, Wolverine grinned fiercely. "The battle is over."

Now, discussion time. The game kinda broke, because Mynd wasn't supposed to die Day 1, and Hoof and Nolder were supposed to be alive at the same time for longer.

 

Mynd's role worked like this: any NA used on him, he absorbed, and could use on subsequent nights, up to one ability per night. If he was lynched, the person hammering, if their character was required to touch him to kill him (Beast, Wolverine, Juggernaut, Mystique, Sabertooth) they would also die. If he was NK'd by the mafia, it worked the same way.

 

As long as Hoof and Nolder were both alive, they could kill and block every night. When Hoof died from hammering Mynd, they had to choose between blocking and killing.

Red NA Night 1: Protect BG

I did have fun with the game after I accepted that it wasn't like the Basic games we had here back in the day. I pushed a lynch on Mynd because, in my mind, he was claiming an impossible role for the set up. I think that once we have a better definition of Basic, Standard and Advanced games, this kind of thing will be a non-issue. It was a great game and I'd love to play another game you mod.

i liked this game, though the only one i really talked outside of the game with was BG once i trusted him (D2) and later when we added others to the convo.

 

 

i loved being able to make a defacto mason group with the Finder though

BG i have to ask, how scared were you that i was lieing abotu being Healer and was actually Magneto?? i kept gettign the feeling that this was goign through your mind and was scared you was gonna sick the Vig on me

 

 

the only negative i can say is that having both a Vig and Bomb in the set up kinda balances the game in favor of the town, but not too much given they had a RBer & GF. a SK instead of Vig woudl have sat better imo.

 

 

Kae, what did Hoof's role mean?? did it just mean he was assigned the Kill or was there soemthing more to it? also, did you enjoy the Mason team tha ended up being formed?? Ishy, you can blame me for not being invited ot the PM, my gut kept pegging you as a SK

Woot! That was really fun! The dynamic didn't work as well as you'd hoped Kae, but I think it probably worked well enough. Vig's are often dangerous to town and it could have easily been a townie who hammered Mynd. I got lucky viewing Songstress as Not Town, because before that I was kinda leaning Town on her. Well played Songs.

 

4 mafia in 3 Days.... Wow! So Red and I teamed up on PM early on and came to trust each other, then we slowly invited others we trusted into the same PM convo essentially creating a Mason Team.

 

We gathered in:

 

Me, Red, Aemon, Amadine, and Levity. We pretty much puzzled it all out based upon who Nolder and Songstress had been putting pressure on both in game and via PM's with me that I had started with everyone. Day 1 I PM'd EVERYONE except Gill to get reactions, and the only reason I didn't PM Gill was because I was currently voting Gill, so that wouldn't have made any sense. Sorry you got left out, but for what it is worth, by Day 3 I was pretty sure you were town until you claimed Phoenix.

 

I wanted to bring in Ishy, but the group was a little reluctant in case Ishy was 3rd party which was fair.

Oh I was nervous about you to be sure Red. But your reads on people were aligned closely enough to mine, plus the no death thing helped me to believe you even though they didn't actually submit a kill ironically. It was either trust you or get nowhere, so I took a step of faith.

Yes I did enjoy the mason team that formed, it was awesome.

 

Hoof's role just meant that he was the one to send in the kill. When he died it passed to Nolder, and they had to choose between actions.

Wait, it's over?? I swear Kae, town blows through scum in minutes in every game you mod. This one and your LotR game were over in seconds. And being Wolverine was marvelous. Glad I at least got to use my role once. And that I was right. Well, BG and I were right anyways. Sorry to have doubted you at the end sir.

Not a bit... but knowing that you choose to investigate me n2 makes me feel better, because I was absolutely sure I'd sunk myself by getting cornered with the request for my character/role. I hadn't quite figured out that the emails the site sends when I have a new PM contains the text of the message, or I would have avoided opening anything from BG after the initial exchange about his character claim. As it was, I felt it would look suspicious if I didn't reply at all, but didn't have a safe fake claim, so....evasion!

 

I thought I'd been outplayed, but it seems it was not quite what I thought. Nonetheless, BG is my choice for someone to tutor me in Devious Plots 101.

 

As for the whole "me being coached" issue, all is not lost, Ishy. Kae can verify that nothing I posted in the thread was at all coached. In fact, e had some communication issues over on the scum team, and I got very little advice of any sort. Most of it was general strategy about blocks, NKs, and whether I should believe the various character and role claims. Also, to avoid getting on Red's suspicious list as she would eat me for lunch.

 

Nonetheless, we pegged BG as the cop as soon a the character PM went out, and would have stood a decent chance if it wasn't for one thing. What I suggested in my case on Levity was pretty much how it went down. Hoof jumped in to hammer on Mynd without reading the QT, or he'd have seen our decision to stay the heck off of his train. without the ability to both block and kill, and with Nol behaving a bit erratic on D1, we pretty much beat ourselves.

 

Truly fun... So! Next game?

I'd give it some consideration. I've learned some things to avoid in this game, and the WK game (where I got NKed on night 4) was fun as well. I'm going to keep my eye out for the next basic game that opens up.

Well, like I said about Lev, you could have used your Cop ability on me if you weren't sure. I think at one point during day 1 I hinted pretty strongly that I wanted the Cop to look into me, in fact, so I could better defend myself. I seemed to be the one under the most suspicion from beginning to end, so I was really surprised that no one ever took this step.

The two flaws with that, though:

 

1. BG was apparently roleblocked N1

2. That's suspicious because you could be the godfather asking for the cop to 'clear' you and I think that's what set some people off edge.

I had fun reading the QT. Songstress, I'd say you are ready for any sort of advanced game, with a good hand on Google for roles you don't know. Your plotting was great. I should invite everyone into the PM team we created.

I was surprised at first since there was no reason you should be trusting me

so I figured something was up but I wasn't sure what it was

when you told me you sent a PM to almost everyone I knew it was a keep your friends close and your enemies closer type of deal

 

I was a bit upset I got lynched while I was gone since I had a few stories I wanted to spin but hey that's the way it goes I guess
