Sounds like a great weekend, everyone (minus, Taltos! I hope it gets better very soon!)!

I spent my weekend locked in the house with the girls, who were sick again (same bug, same fevers) while my husband did yard work. we had plans to go see Star Trek last Friday night, but a 105 degree fever nixed that pretty fast.

I can only post from my phone. I'm just glad something is connecting, so :-) !

Exciting! May you have a glorious weekend.

This weekend is our first 'not so busy' weekend in a while. The weather put off our plans to see the Star Trek movie. So we are going to do that on Saturday. Sunday we are attending the renewal of vows of some friends of ours celebrating their 20th anniversary. It should be enjoyable. It is being held in conjunction with their church's Evensong service (fun with gregorian chant basically) and will be held in garb. Then Monday is our traditional Memorial Day activities with friends in the city.

Hiarthbeorn. Lovely shield work! I do hope your new one holds up well.

Had a great day. Managed to find a donation drop-off point down in the city (for the tornado survivors). Surprisingly difficult since half of them were closed because all their volunteers were down IN Moore, helping out. Can't really blame them for that. Also saw Star Trek Into Darkness with friends and hit the Boy Scout store for some things we need for next year for my son, and myself.

Got home to find great news from the Dallas area baronial event that two good gentles with whom I am friends were announced for the Order of the Pelican (for non-SCA folk, Peer equivalent to Knight, but for Service), and another dear lady received her Iris of Merit (in our kingdom Grant Level Artisan award)! All are wonderful folks I have had the pleasure to meet and know as heralds and scribes and friends.

Day Two:  Had planned to be productive last night but ended up gorging out on Ryzom.  I don't play many MMORPG's but I like Ryzom because it's unbelievably customizable and you don't have to sink three days into a useless skill tree.

Ended up changing out the lights on my mom's car - Pontiac hires crazy people to do their engineering.

I have no idea what to do with myself today.  Ah, summer.  >_>

Yesterday, my husband was racing, so I had the girls by myself and had to take him food. They were in a horrific mood, so I didn't take them anywhere except to get him food and take them back home. They were AWFUL! I was crying on the way home from the racetrack. I told Dana that I needed some time to myself today. I was going to go somewhere and not look at the clock for a while. I didn't care where it was, it just wasn't going to be a place that had any level of responsibility. It didn't quite happen the way I wanted it to, but it was good, anyway. I'm debating joining a local writer's group that meets at the library. Or, heck, just being my own writer's group and taking up a room every weekend while I spread myself out and eat up their wifi bandwidth.

Tomorrow, Dana is going to finish the backyard so the girls and I can go out and get some plants straightened out. I have an apple tree to get in the ground and a whole bunch of pots that need sorting. My garden is rather woeful in the backyard, so I'm sure there will be a trip to Home Depot to get supplies to fix my plant boxes. I need to figure out what's killing my roses, too. The plant is healthy, but the flowers turn brown just as they are blooming. They shrivel up and the stem under them turns brown and dies. It doesn't just happen in one place, it happens to every single bloom. I don't see any critters on the leaves, so I don't think it's aphids. I'm seriously at a loss... :(

Good for you, Lor.  My fam went to brunch with a friend and the rest of the day I spent with a girlfriend.  We went to see "The Great Gatsby" (loved it)  out for dinner and then a drive up by the lake for a walk and the sunset.  Nothing like spending time with girlfriends or alone time.

Join the writers group.

Nice shield Hiarthbeorn, should give you a long life.

I finished seventh in Crown list and was the last one without a Sir to their name left. A good day by all accounts, even if I felt I could have done better.

Had a good friend Granted Arms, another inducted into the Sable Sword (our Grant level tournament fighting award) and a dear friend announced for the Order of the Chivalry.

It was a a fabulous weekend.

Yay, you! And you're home all safe and stuff!

I do have a new bruise, though. (only one that I found...) and my shoulder is hurting again. Since I wasn't that awful with the shovel today, I can only assume that means you're sucking down ibuprofen for it?

Sounds like a great weekend Kynwric! Congratulations to you and to your friends.

We had a lovely time Sunday at our friends' vow renewal ceremony and their church's Evensong service. Very medieval, very enjoyable. Then yesterday playing games and hanging out with friends and eating good food. Now, back to the chaos.

And I'm home and stuff... for a change...

Shoulder is a bit sore from swinging a stick all day... bruised a bit on the leg from a vicious leg shot that missed the armor, but other than that I'm good...

CRAP! THAT WAS YOU! I found that bruise in the shower last night and didn't remember bumping into anything!

*mutters about warders with bruising habits under her breath*

Yeah, well, I warned you about my sinuses, too.

still say it's worth it. For me it's fun to imagine how you got bruises in the word places they show up. Lol
