Weekend Plans

I attended the Student Success Expo yesterday morning (my school won a poster maker for having the most number of people signing in!), then went to work until nearly 5 PM. I came home and did the usual evening close down with my kids. Of course, then I stayed up WAY too late talking to Kyn. (Yes, I totally blame you!) Today I stayed in while Dana went and did some work on the race track. I finished ALL of the laundry (GO ME!) and put beef tips in the slow cooker. I'm going to write up that recipe and post it on my blog. :)

I really don't want to go to work tomorrow. *sighs*

Tomorrow go to physical therapy and see the neurosurgeon to get ok to go back to work on Wed!

Yup!  Got cleared today by the neurosurgeon.  I have to get up and walk every hour and no driving beyond 40-45 minutes, at my discretion.  Back on Wed.  My AMoL is here and I can pick it up tomorrow at 11am.

Yup. One of my friends made these peanut butter and chocolate cookies and coffee cake. I got lots of hugs... went out to lunch with co-workers.I spent 7 hours reading emails and then listening to 49 voice messages. I have a major multi-agency meeting on Friday.

wow... no pressure! Yay for them appreciating you, though! :)

My weekend will be pretty simple, I think. My husband is racing in a big race this weekend. We're meeting a couple tomorrow night for dinner (with girls, so not really "date" night, but it's as close as I'll probably get). He'll get up and get out of the house pretty early on Saturday and I'll be in be LONG before he gets home. I've decided to stay in and work around the house a bit on a few projects on Saturday. We still have a Christmas tree up and that's just... bothering me. So, it's going to come down on Saturday while the girls are taking a nap. My copy of AMoL should be here tomorrow night, but I'm torn between reading it and putting it off. I mean... it's THE END and I'm dreading it as much as I'm looking forward to it. My only solace is that it's huge and it's going to take me forever to read it, so it's not like I'm going to zip through it like a Harry Potter book. LOL Throw in that I still have about 150 pages of Cold Days left and... *sighs* I've got a lot of reading to do this weekend. I also don't have any money until Tuesday because it was a 3 week Day Care run this paycheck and that eats up the excess in my check. No excess=stay home. Luckily, the girls like staying home and if the weather is as nice as they say it will be, we may go outside and rescue some plants to take over to a friends' house, then get some bulbs in one of my raised beds.

One of my goals is gardening this year, after all! :)

Lor, days like that can be relaxing. Intake my son out to hike at a local preserve and we get ice cream. Pretty inexpensive day but lots if fun!

Reading AMoL right now.

AMoL is sitting right next to me, but I'm so sick I can't concentrate enough to read it... very depressing. Assuming I am better tomorrow I have hitting people with stick planned for Sunday and if not then I stay home and watch football.

I got it in the mail yesterday, but I am determined to finish my Dresden first. I'm only about 65 pages away... *smiles*

I finished it. Mixed feelings. We'll talk after you read it.

Not feeling well today.... I have an upset stomach. Watched football. Broncos lost. :-/ Niners won!!!

Picked up my son from a rural fire department... He's a Fire Explorer. It was about a 40 minute drive on the way to the Sequoias at sunset. Just gorgeous!

Classes start tomorrow so I'm breaking for that last mad rush of deviancy and sloth.  By deviancy and sloth, I mean reading.  I'm about half-way through Vernor Vinge's "A Fire Upon the Deep" and it's pretty swanky.

Easy day. Rested, read, when out for a friend's birthday lunch. Just got back from the grocery store. Bought lots of produce as I just watched a movie called "Forks over Knives."

I have been home with Tadpole, who has had a fever on and off since Sunday. I'll be home with her again tomorrow, too. :( Today wasn't too bad, but I'm hoping tomorrow is the end of this temperature. I may have to take her to the doctor, though, as she started playing with her right ear this afternoon... *grumbles about ear infections*

I'm sorry she's sick. I know those days. I have physical therapy tomorrow and then on Wed my son goes to the orthodontist.

I took her to the doctor today and, as usual, got good news and bad news. The good news is that she doesn't have the flu or ear infections. The bad news is that it's viral and there's not a lot we can do about it but handle the fever as it comes and try to keep her happy.

*sighs* So, home again tomorrow with her. She didn't allow herself to take a nap all day today. By 5, she was a true monster and still fighting sleep. Poor us!

I remember those days.

I remember them with Peanut, too. I didn't like them much then, either. lol

Is she better?

Posted

Yes, thank heaven! Her fever disappeared Wednesday, so she went to school (and so did I!) on Thursday. I had to go in and do some work on my gradebook this morning, but other than that, I don't have any big plans for the weekend. My MiL had to have her dog put to sleep this week, so we're going to go visit her tomorrow (she's pretty upset about it) and then the usual groceries and couponing stuff for me tomorrow. We're off on Monday, though, so Peanut and I are going on a date. I'm hunting a good movie for us to go see. :)

It's so nice to have a three day weekend. We are watching the playoffs today and eating. Lol. Tomorrow, sleep in, go for a walk and a movie, I think.
