Why's it scummy?

 

more gut than anything. your vote on Ley is more of a joke vote as the know-it-all was more in ref to the convo involving siggies and the BT, and the FoS feels a bit forced, more like puttign out feelers to see what bites rather thana true FoS.

@Red Somewhere to start, really. Didn't see mmeeshals comment as scummy, but silly and ironic. Seemed like a second vote joke and then blaming Tina for joking when, in fact, she herself was joking.

 

In any case, more to get a rise out of you.

 

I think Soy's reaction is more interesting though as he says "Couple of people seem to have pointed out that you have the scummiest post of the game" when really it was just me. Also blames me for not voting since he missed seeing my vote. Either way, I didn't need to put a vote so him and FoSing me over not doing it seems odd. Seems like he's trying to latch onto me and FoS me at the same time.

I'm not really sure what you mean here, but you're definitely climbing up my suspect list. Which is actually quite excellent, as my whole point was to try and get some game-related discussion started, so that people could start playing the game.

 

You're digging too hard for stuff to point fingers away from yourself, and there's not actually as much there as you'd like to think.

Well, honestly I've been discussing the whole Day 1 issue with people lately, and the consensus seems to be that pressuring people, forming lynch trains to gauge reactions and get information, not joke-voting and dancing an elaborate, inoffensive dance, is the way to get the most out of the day.

 

Originally, I planned on voting you, Tina, but you had no votes at that point and I wanted to pick someone with a vote on them already to start seeing how people responded to that. So I voted Leyrann. I picked him from the list of people with votes on them for the reason I gave when voting him.

 

I wasn't planning on people jumping on me and telling I'm definitely scum, but that works too--notice how we're now discussing the game, and not still joke-voting and laughing and not taking the Day seriously.

 

I rest my case.

Okay, so. As most of you probably have experienced, while mafia players definitely benefit from analyzing posts and paying attention to who does what, a significant portion of actual game play has to do with our "scumdars" or our "gut feelings."

 

Tina pinged me with her post voting me because I mentioned a quicktopic and Krak. It wasn't so much what she said, because "it's day 1, can't take anyone seriously, etc etc" but the vibe I got from her saying it. It just came across to me as an attempt to point the mafia finger at the first person it seemed likely to stick to. It wasn't anything solid at the time, more of a vague feeling, hence my choice just to reference the post that pinged me and FOSing her, rather than going into detail about scumminess or anything like that.

 

However, as this discussion has picked up the pace and as I've read more from Tina, my vibe has solidified into something tangible enough to put words to, which is what I'm doing now. I'm now not just being pinged by her, but I actually feel suspicious of her, and I'm very happy with my vote at this point.

 

She's actively trying to discredit anything I say, dismissing it as "scummy" and trying to associate me with "scumminess" and "mafia." I would say that a much more reasonable, pro-town reaction would be to think about what I'm saying and at least state disagreement with it, rather than try to make me sound like an idiot who must be mafia because I just am, which is what she's doing.

 

Think about who's actually been providing examples and reasons for her actions, and who's just been pointing the "scum" finger and trying to run with it.

In contradiction to what most people are doing, I am going to place my vote back on my "joke vote" person. Hoof. He said he wasn't going to be around much D1 because he gets into trouble. Yet he's been fairly active, just spamming granted, but still active. So one ping for saying out right he's going to lay low, and two pings for spamming instead meaningfully contributing.

Well I know that that is what he said in his initial post. Otherwise I have only played in one game with him. I also know that people who are mafia typically do one of two things(in my experience): 1. Lay low/feign activity. 2. Super active throwing around suspicions in an attempt to divert suspicion from themselves.
