Link's not working for me.

I remember the day well. I think I was still on my first read of The Eye of the World, but I knew Robert Jordan had been diagnosed with the illness because I'd wanted to find out a bit about him before I started the series and I think this site was the first thing that came up when I Googled his name. I didn't check the forums back then because I didn't want spoilers but I just so happened to click on the site that day and my heart just sank. My initial reaction was quite selfish really - I was just gutted that I'd never get to find out how the series finished (so I then thought), but then I felt sad that the guy would never see through a series he had first conceived, what 20 years ago?

I still feel that way now. Brandon Sanderson has done a great job, but for me there'll always be a sadness that Robert Jordan never saw it's completion. But his legacy lives on.

I never had an opportunity to meet him but he has changed my life by giving me this wonderful gift of a story. He is missed. I also would like to thank Brandon for taking the time to finish this tale for us fans who would have been sadly disappointed if it could not have been completed.

i was shocked when i found out he had died. It had been a while since i had read any of the books. when i found out the first thing i did was just stare at the books and think of the great man that wrote them and how he would always be a part of so many lives. He touched so many with his words and thoughts that everyone will always have a lil piece of him as long as the books are there. A great man and a great author. He will deff go down in history as one of the best.

He will be missed and thought of always.

Rest in peace Mr Jordan

Rest in piece Mr Jordan

I think you mean "peace"?

I only started reading WoT last year, so for me, it has never been unknown BS was finishing it. My brother had told me that there was another writer finishing it. And, indeed, Luckers, he has created two worlds. Two of the most beautiful worlds on earth.

I remember very vividly exactly where I was when I learned it. I received an sms from a friend and it was a real shock. I knew RJ was sick, but I had not paid attention for a while since I hadn't caught up to the last book. It had already been ten years since I began reading the Wheel of Time and I must admit I had feared this long before I knew he was sick. I just never realized it might actually happen. There's at least one lesson in that fact.

I wrote this, originally for the main page article, but it messed up...

A man I admire greatly passed away on this day, four years gone. He was a man who taught me the elegence, the power, and the value of words.

I remember him. Indeed, I will never forget him.

Rest in peace James Oliver Rigney. Rest in peace Robert Jordan. Rest in peace Jim, and may the last embrace of the mother hold you still....
