So I really didn't get much off Maw's lynch. Anyone that jumped on his wagon had every reason to imo, after that post he made. Even though he flipped town, that post was a very un-town sentiment. And of the other active players, no one seemed all that scummy on D1. So with that being said, my next move is going to be to get some of these inactive players involved. Up to this point, I don't think Christine has posted at all and Nyn only once. So since Nyn has at least checked in I will Vote Christine.

Should either of the ladies show up and get active, I will unvote quickly, but inactivity ruins more games than letting the scum win methinks.

Posted

Well I'll be damned, right you are. Even still, two posts each by the both of them, still inactive as far as I'm concerned. After the last two games I've been in, that's something I'm at war against.

Posted

Well Nol, whatcha got? No pressure or anything but you're the only one who's given any indication of having a case, kinda surprising for day one.

And I agree, you said you have something for us, what is it?

Posted

you have information.

information = useful

I don't have any information that's not already in the thread

yes of course but you see it in a different light than the rest of us. so how do the pieces fit together for you nolder.... lets hear what your thinking.

Lovely Mod Goddess, what exactly is the story of Rule 14?

I can handle this one, as I was there when it started. It comes from another site called JetNation, where a few of us from DM play most of our mafia nowadays. The site there is not PG-13 and therefore pretty munch anything goes. A handful of those folks came over here to play in Kivam's recent GoT game. Good times. But one of the rules added to a game there was the Rule #14 of GFY. Red has played with them, so she's using it here, which I think is awesome, lol.

Verbal responds here on page 3 to a random question from page 1

basically a filler post, others are guilty of the same sure but it seems like verbal specifically avoided the conversation at hand (which was already starting to get pretty heated by page 3)

No, this is how it works day one: We kill someone, we look at people connected with them, we use that info to kill someone else. Someone needs to die and i don't care who it is. Get a bandwagon with enough for a lynch going and i will jump on it.

Unvote. Vote Mawthtex.

Just..wow. Don't care who it is eh? And what if it's the doc or finder? We have 72 hours, if everyone would actually get on and post, it's nowhere near impossible to get scum on D1. A little harder sure, but not caring who gets lynched today reeks of scumminess.

Ishy has a point here. Yes, we need a lynch. Should it be a blind shot without much fuss? Heck no. Just randomly saying you'll hop on a train without any thought behind it or, like Ishy said -- consideration for power roles -- is suspicious.

Vote: Mawthtex

so he avoided joining in on the other...2? 3? bandwagons that had formed prior to maw's but suddenly he joins in this one and merely echos what Ishy has already said

which is not really out of the ordinary but the way he puts it feels off to me

saying it's "suspicious" feels like he's leaving himself room to back out when provided with "new information" or whatnot

and afterall it was Ishy that propagated the lynch right? Verbal was just duped into following along!

I don't think so

it can be said I'm reading too much into the little Verbal is saying but I think that's really the heart of the matter

IMHO Verbal appears to be going out of his way to say/do as little as possible

Did I? Oh well, it was an entire paragraph. Cut me some slack. No, i did say it at the bottom. Ley keeps going after any aggressive players. Possible mafia for two reasons: aggressive players are generally the most likely to get a mafia lynched and I concur about the Mafia getting Hoof's vote (see Nol's reasoning above) and I said that i think he is the one controlling hoof's vote. Feel free to tell me why i'm wrong.

Because you are at L-1, which is 6 votes, and there are 6 people voting you.....meaning that if Ley had the extra vote....wouldn't you be dead?

it's odd that someone who seems to care so little about what's going on that he can't be bothered to form his own opinions or make his own case would take the time to call out maw on his admittedly flawed defense

the only thing I can think that would make Verbal reach out like that is that he wanted this lynch to happen

which leads to the question of why?

and that leads me to conclude that Verbal must be mafia or a very very aloof townie which is not the vibe I'm getting from him

what do you guys think?

ya'll seemed to build up my "case" at night but I never implied I had any solid spectacular mind blowing proof that he was mafia so if that's what you were expecting...sorry!

Posted

btw going off Verbals logic on the double vote we can conclude that one of the following must have had Hoof's vote: Nolder, Christina, Nynaeve, or amegakure

given that I know it's not me (not that you have to believe that, but it's true nonetheless) it must have strangely been one of our more inactive players

I'm going to guess it was either Christina or Amega but until someone wants to fess up and clear the others I trust none of you and I advocate everyone else do the same

Actually, this makes a lot of sense to me. You're actually going to tell me that someone like Verbal is going to build his vote off of a case that someone like myself makes and not make his own? I admit, I've played in a few games by now, but as far as I'm concerned, Verb is one of of the top 3 or 4 players here on DM. The fact that he wants to hide behind my case seems very, very off to me. Voting Maw was an easy route to go after his super anti-town posts, but to not make your own case and base it off mine seems either really scummy or really lazy. But I do have to say, Nolder saying that I started Maw's lynch is way off base, as pointing out his flawed logic seems a rational conclusion to reach.

That being said, I still can't verifiably say that Verb is scum, only that Nol has a good point here. I'm going to stick with my plan to get the inactives involved in the game if I can, but if my plan yields no results, I wouldn't have much of a problem with advancing Nol's theory. Good analysis there Nol.

Good point, Nol. Verb is definitely on my list of people to keep a close eye on.

At this point, however, I'm going to VOTE NYN for inactivity. Like Ishy said, if she shows up and starts to contribute, I will unvote. But inactives have lately been the bane of a good mafia game around here. -_-

Posted

I thought about that too, Nolder, but there are more players that have done basically the same. I still don´t know what you did there. Trying to keep yourself alive or just pretending to.

No one got nk´d. That´s great. I guess this could be because of 1) doc got lucky, 2) no nk were sent in 3) we have a role blocker.

I´m also pretty tired of players that sign up for games but doesn´t play. Maybe one of them is mafia and missed to send in the nk? Vote Christine.

We are starting this day out good. I think it would be good to look at the inactives to get them to play. I'm not too sold on the Verbal case yet, could change.

For now Nyn - you never came back to tell us what you thought of the game.
