Hmmm, thats a very good point Jack. If the game wasnt hammer and the scenario arose that, say, there was no definitive lynch for the day, the mafia could sneak in their votes right at the deadline which would lynch town. I guess the only upside to the random in this case would be that there is a chance, however slim, that the lynch would be scum. In the interest of not giving mafia that advantage I'll go with the hammer

I am a fan of hammer games and random lyches if it involves inactives. Gets more people involved. Speeds things up. I have a short attention span lol and a very real problem with short term memory loss. One of the main reasons I don't play these games too much.

 

First, I would like to unvote as it seems there is not to be any joke votes and people really just want to get things rolling. Secondly, just as a matter of opinion, I never considered 3 out of seven to bandwaggoning especially on day one. Votes bounce back and forth like mad usually on day one cause 'I vote Wolfbro because he ate my cheerios..' and what not. By the way that is not a vote, hence no red letters. To get so defensive so early, especially when you play these as often as you do and should know better about inconsistency with early voters, makes you stand out. Your argument has some merit though so I am just going to hold back my "serious" vote until I hear more. Watchin you all the same though lol

So, I've played mafia in person before... but this is my first online game. And, because of my ignorance, could someone explain this "hammer" concept? I really don't care how we play so long as we agree, I'm just curious what the difference is between "hammer" and no hammer.

No hammer just means there is a deadline and voting and invoting occurs until the deadline.

 

With a hammer game, once the majority is reached no further votes or unvotes count.

in addition, the vote that hits the majority and lynches the player- so the 7th vote when 7 are required, is the "hammer" vote. sometimes with certain roles, like the 'bomb' role, kill the hammer voter when they qare lynched.

I'm extremely comfortable with a hoof lynch if Nolder isn't going to happen. His blatant bandwagoning without any original reason is the scummiest thing I've saw this game. Id vote him now but three competing trains is the last thi g we need IMO.

This is why I like hammer games. I have been so busy this past week I wouldn't have minded being killed from inactivity. I did have a chance to post a few times at least and get a re-read done. Now, the project at work that has been the bane of my existence has been shipped out as of last night so now I cna loiter on DM some more. YAYYYYYYY. I hope it's just coincidance but this just kind of makes Jack stand out more as scum. All this hoopla comes out about bandwagons and his over reacting and now everyone goes quiet when there is no threat of majority. So, I am going to vote Jack_D. The way you reacted just keeps pinging me in my head.

I said hammer game is better then most votes at deadline because the former presents an advantage to the mafia. Other players agree and so did the mod, I wouldn't look a gift horse like that in the mouth of I were mafia.

 

Who wouldn't question three rapid votes on day 1 with no reasoning. I apologize I didn't lay down and let a train build on me to get myself lynched.

 

There is very little activity here and three competing lynch trains will further spur the town to indecisive inactivity.

 

What point of that doesn't make sense?

 

In short I believe Hoof is scum, and my announcing my suspicions has caused Millon to try and distract from them.

I feel bad for Blackhoof, every game I've ever played with him he's been taken out pretty early. Town or mafia. So I'd rather not go with Hoof today, based solely on that reason.

Ok, after doing a recap a few things have struck me.

 

The first is the speed of which the votes came onto Jack. 3 votes in quick succession seems very odd to me. Day 1 voting, for the most, is random, but 3 votes on one player like that just seems suspicious.

 

I understand Jack's reaction to the votes too. One or two like that, meh, its Day 1, people are joking around, but 3, in a game where it takes 7 to lynch, is taking it to the extreme. It wasnt helped by Hoof's vote either, which to me seems scummy. If 3 is a bandwagon, then 4, in that space of time seems like scum trying to further the bandwagon.

 

The other thing that struck me is Nolder. He claims that he didnt know that he was the third vote on Jack. That just seems suspicious to me. His reaction to Red's vote is pinging me also.

 

I'm holding my vote for the time being. I'm not 100% sure on where to cast it. I'll wait to see what happens as the day progresses on and see if anything else strikes me. There is still just under a day till DL so anything can happen.

Yeah, I wasn't very clear. I need to work on how exactly proof reading works. I thought it was weird that everyone was so active and then just up and disappeared when it seemed to me like Jack_D was painting an arrow towards himself with his overreacting. At least I see it as overreacting. I never take anything on day seriously. Maybe it's a fault with me not having much experience with mafia. When I read through everything nothing seemed like a real threat. And yet he went off like that. His reaction looked scummy and then everyone shuts up. That was the coincidence.
