Lily, the way I see it if a player buys the CL role and it's real then it's gunna be a dominating force. The way to prevent that would be to run up random people to L-4 and give them a chance to say something before L-3. They can fake claim anything, but we would have a better idea at who might or might not be CL. If a player has spent under three VP then they can't be CL. Of course it sounds good on paper, but so did communism. I've been thinking about the mechanics of running people up and I believe it would distract from scum hunting this early in the game.

 

So I am still up for doing it, but I won't be the champion of it anymore. I think there needs to be a collective incentive to not purchase the CL role and I think we need to exercise methods of keeping it in check.

Maybe it wasn´t too bad after all because it is very interesting to see how people respond to my mistake. I think that eighter Sakaea didn´t read my first post correct or she is trying to come up with a reason for voting me after her clear bandwagon vote. If you read my first post I say I will vote one of the two players that had two votes already. Song did see my mistake and pointed it out and that is why I changed it where it should have been. Not vote hopping. I´m extra suspicious of Sakaea because she put the 6th vote on me wich could be the one that makes everyone think "We don´t have any other choices but Tina today". Unvote. I don´t think DPR should have just happened to overlook two votes on the same player. This looks really scummy. I will try ones more. Just in case it is needed, unvote. Then vote Sakaea. And on a second re-read I notice that ConQuests vote for Nolder didn´t work either. Hm...

 

I notice that although lots have happened while I was asleep I have still five votes for me. You still think my first post mistake is the most scummy thing this game?

 

I think Sakaeas "plan" might work. I see some players hinting "I don´t want to vote Tina but she has most votes so if I have to..." Even more disturbing for me that Sakaea only have two votes for her when she IMO should have four.

 

DPR - can you explain if you have just happened to skip some votes or if the votecount is correct. If I can´t vote Sakaea I have to move on.

Aside from that I'm wondering about Lily "I would totes buy the CL power" Elizabeth.

 

If I were mafia, and wanted to show inherent 'towness', I'd let everyone know I 'could' have switched to CL, but I think it's a fake so I didn't. (Small print: I'm TOWN, get it?)

MOD HOUSEKEEPING:

 

First, I do definitely require an "UNVOTE" to change votes. I didn't realize that it had fallen out of fashion to do so...but, requiring and unvote actually gives a player the chance to wifom or meta - say they voted for a lynch at the last minute, but forgot to unvote, so it didn't count, and no majority was reached, and a new vampire is made. Did that player just get caught up in the moment and forget? Or are they mafia, trying to look good by making a simple mistake? You decide...

 

Second, I'll address playstyles, and by that I mean aggressive vs. non-aggressive, etc. I watch the game very closely, and if I see anyone that looks like they are having a bad time playing the game, I'm going to talk to them (also, anyone can PM me with anything, at any time - please, please do not let another player rile you to the point where you are not enjoying the game!)

 

As a general rule, I will allow a wide range of styles to play - I love to try to get under peoples skin to shake them up. There is a lot you can do as Town, or as Mafia by experimenting with styles. Here are my guidelines:

 

1. You can sweat another player, but if they seem like they are not enjoying it, always post that you know its just a game, and you are just playing.

2. If anyone is truly upset, I'll step in. Please don't fake upset.

3. ALL RL ISSUES ARE TAKEN SERIOUSLY. The one technique i will not stand for is for anyone to use an RL excuse for game play. RL stuff happens, and when someone has an event that affects their life, they need support and kindness - not razzing and accusations. This includes sickness, family issues, car trouble...you get the point. Again, please do not fake this - if you need understanding, it's here. Just don't take advantage.

4. Strap in. I am 100% fully aware that I have not given much information out. It's by design. After the lynch (hence the short deadline) the game will pick-up speed, and I'll warn you now, there are potentitalities that will require great speed - look up the very first Vampire Hunter game for a clue to that. heh

 

Stay sharp. Stay focused. The vampires you are hunting are brutal and deadly, as is anything else lurking out there...

Because I'm not a sheep. I vote for who is the scummiest or who I think will give us the most info for day one. There's plenty of time to switch my vote if needed, but I don't hop on a bandwagon for the sake of wagoning, unless I'm being lazy, which I don't plan on being this game.

Then started splitting hairs over "playing scummy" vs. "being scum" which was talking in circles... in other words, you got caught in a contradiction (which doesn't mean you are scum) and your recourse was to divert the dialogue into discussing semantics and your own personal barometer for assessing the game, from there you started trying to appeal to the one game we played together... THAT my friend, is what I meant by talking in circles. I could have said, changed the subject, convoluted the dialogue, or muddied the waters perhaps... I can't even believe I have to explain this.

Ok now it's time to get to serious scum hunting. I find the whole mess on Tina stinky, and goofy day one vote turned into an excuse by the scum to push a vote through. I already said what I thought about the Nolder/john thing going on but I find it interesting that even though its been talked about so much so many votes are staying on tina, people unsure whether the two are scum or teammates trying to distance without looking like it.

 

One thing that will be difficult in this game is that because there are many teams the usual tells of players working together aren't really going to indicate anything, I think a lot of you have lost sight of that, while taking up for your own team mates.

 

I need to do a bit of a reread before I'm comfortable placing a vote which is gonna be a pain in the @$$ on my phone, and you know work, so give me a little time.

After reading back through, I'm going to vote Sakaea...if it works (seeing as a few others haven't so far). I think Tina's vote was a mistake and one that could easily have been made. Also, it was in practically the beginning of the game so she had plenty of time to fix it, as she did.
