Unfortunately we really have nothing to go on, so this is really going to be a random lynch. I'm not sure I'll be back on before deadline (many things to do, many places to go) but I have no reason to move my vote, so I'll leave it on Tigs for now and hope that: 1) I can get back online before deadline and 2) there has been some kind of development to help us avoid a completely random bandwagon.

Well, I'm torn between just voting an inactive, or voting AJ, who has pinged me a little. The thing is, I don't want to vote her if she's pinged me just because she's, well, actually posting a lot. I just thought it was weird, the whole thing with voting Talmanes to get him here when he obviously hadn't seen the thread. *shrugs* I think I'm more in favor of voting an inactive, though.

It could be the way you both perceive "inactives", people who haven't said anything at all verses someone who posted then became quiet, or didn't add anything. Aj, you looked scummy for posting the second vote on someone who hadn't even signed in to the thread, but I think I get what you were trying to do. If he hadn't seen the thread yet someone who had seen it could have noticed he had two votes and informed him, and it was something to get us talking (even if it was about you). It worked well for Lily in the Candyland game, she called for inactives by name and then came running, it seems that worked here for you too. Either way, when he got here and posted you dropped your vote. I think the others are thinking of "inactives" as someone who has signed in, but then not said anything else since. Seems like more fair game to vote for someone who has acknowledged the game but not added to it, than to vote for someone who hasn't even realized the game is on. Which is why I think Alanna says she wants to vote inactives after calling you out for voting for and inactive. You see it as someone who hasn't posted at all or much, and she probably sees it as someone who knows the game is on (having checked in to prove that) and then hasn't added to it.

I completely do not understand the whole I was voting for him to hurry and get him here thing that AJ is trying to pull. If it was a random day 1 vote then say it was a random day 1 vote. The fact that you are trying to make up excuses just seems scummy to me.

I don't see the part where I said that she has been defensive. She said she voted for him because he was inactive and was hoping her vote would make him active, that doesn't make sense in the least bit if he hadn't even checked in yet. I said to call a spade a spade and a random vote a random vote. The fact that she gave such an excuse seems suspicious to me. Firstly, I wasn't trying to pull anything at all; if anything I was pulling attention to him for his sake and others. It's not a crime to be the second vote, is it? It's not like I was going to lead a lynch on him just for the hell of it. As for it being a random vote: it most definitely was not. The thread was getting quiet, we still didn't have that much time (despite the extension) another vote brought people along, did it not? I make no excuses for trying to get some chatter going.

 

What I find suspicious is the people pushing this lynch when there is clearly nothing going on here other than my vote/unvote of Tal because he wasn't in the game yet. Hardly incriminating, I think.

AJ, my main issue is that yes, I think it's ok to vote for someone who hasn't checked in, but not so soon. It was about 12 hours after Ama said she he hadn't checked in (not sure the time span or if it was before/after she said she will poke him).

And no, I don't think it's quite a huge thing.

But, I don't like random. lol
