So. It's been a crazy year, 2010 has. So much has happened, so many things have come and gone and changed and it's just been unbelievable.

Anyway, so I'm now dating a Brit. And, if all goes well with us, I may end up moving overseas to be with him. We'll see, though.

So, the first thing. I just want to say, you guys are awesome and have totally sold me on the awesomeness of all you folks from across the pond. I am in awe of you.

Second thing, I'm going to be visiting Mister Joe sometime this summer, probably for a month or so, but we're still figuring out details. We kind of want to do some traveling, see lots of different sights and stuff, and so, I was wondering, would it be possible at all for us to stop in and visit some of you? I'd really love to meet you guys.

So yeah, that's all, I'm super-excited about going overseas, and if you guys have any suggestions of things to add to the trip itinerary (fun sights, things to do, etc), I'd really appreciate it!

I would LOVE to see you Meesh, if you came over here...Let me know where and when you are coming over.

Some places I would recommend:

Stonehenge - been around 5000 yrs, always worth a peek.

Castles and Stately Homes. A good old castle is worth a visit. We also have some fantastic Stately homes that can be visited and walked round. For that I recomment Longleat. It's a lovely house, plus it has a safari park with it and lots of entertainment...worth a day!

London, got to go to the capital, see the original White Tower (yes it's called that...google white tower and you'll see) also know as the Tower of London. Also Buckinham Palace, various gardens, the London Eye to mention a few other things!

If I think of anything else I will add them here..but most of all you need to visit you dearest OL...

Probably August 2011, since Joe's uni graduation is at the end of July. We're probably going to have me fly into London, first, but we'll be traveling all around the country so you don't have to go out of your way to see me if it's a pain in the butt for you to do so. But I will PM you more details as we get them figured out, assuming the PM system is up by then. It should be, there's nearly a year between now and then.

And thanks for the suggestions, I was looking this kind of stuff up and there is SO MUCH to do that I will have a hard time narrowing it down. I think we should have a certain number of things we can put on the list of what to do while I'm over there, so every suggestion helps me out heaps! ^^

I wouldn't dream of not visiting you, my dearest Talya. I insisted upon it once I knew for sure I was going to be able to fly overseas. And I shall bring my lovely camera!!! ^^

Hey, if you REALLY wanted to....and could afford it.... It's like $1500 for a roundtrip plane ticket if you book now, plus hotel and whatnot. I'm not paying for my trip, Joe is. XD I do NOT have that kind of money.

But you probably couldn't get a whole month off work. Speaking of that, I don't know if I'll be able to take that much time off. I might have to arrange to quit my job and be rehired once I get back. O.o

Inspiring, is that the word you're looking for? Maybe? Or enlightening, that works too. >.>

You should come down to boring old Iowa and pay me a visit, Zep. Make Iowa exciting for a little bit.

I'd also recommend seeing a bunch of musicals :P I thought i'd hate them but theyre actually really awesome. Wicked and Les Miserables we're my favourites but I guess it depends if you like that stuff...

otherwise... Ministry of Sound!! :laugh::mad::wub:

Oi, don't leave me out!!!

Btw, Camden Town in London is awesome for it's market, tons of geeky stuff and wicked t-shirts and things. See a play or a musical while you're there if you can. Les Mis is always showing, but you'll have to keep an eye on what plays are on.

August you say you're thinking? Alton Towers I highy recommend if you like rollercoasters. I go every year.

That and I could tell you so much about dating Brits long-distance, seeing as I did it and now I'm married to him, lol!

Well, I hate to say it, but it looks like 2011 is NOT going to be a year where I get to visit you guys overseas.

I really really really really really really want to, but we decided it's better if he visits me over here in the US, first. *snaps fingers*

Now, that doesn't mean I'll never get to visit you folks. I plan on making it happen, one way or another, regardless of what happens. It just won't be this upcoming year, that's all. Perhaps 2012 I can make it work. I guess it really depends on what happens in the next year.

Oh, and thanks for all the ideas for things to do; whenever I make it over there, I'll have a nice list made up! ^_^

@Ellianora--I was hoping you'd notice this thread, though now it's nearly irrelevant. But we'll have to keep in contact about the relationship thing; I already have some questions and stuff to ask you about.

No problema, feel free to ask away!

Whether he goes there, or you come here, it's all good as long as you get to see each other. That's a big thing about long-distance relationships, you'll find yourselves really not caring about where you are, just that you are with each other.

*pops into the thread to see a few MIA Banders*

How much do you want me to sell London to you as a place to see?

And as already mentioned, there are some nice places in Wales. Probably worth a trip.

You should pop around to take part in one of the riots

Stupid government..

I wouldn't advise that actually.

Stupid government? You got any other suggestions on reducing the deficit? Cause everyone else is already getting hit by cuts.

Don't really think increasing the uni fees to 10,000 pounds was really the best way.. It's hard enough for some of us to pay it as it was.. Yes i know everyones getting hit and all, I was joking and was simply bummed out that my chances of going to the places which I worked to go to virtually dropped to nil.

And I don't like Cameron. Wasn't really looking for an argument here >_>

I had all these questions, then they disappeared when I went to go ask them.... >.>

Well, I do have one, that I can think of, I guess, Elli. Do you prefer PMs, LJ, or emails? =)

Oh, good news, good news!!! So Joe's parents invited me to his graduation at the end of July, and are willing to host me, and think it would be cool for me to get to see the country a little bit, so I am going to England after all! ^^ I have some saving to do, but it'll be worth every penny, no doubt. Maybe I can manage to drop in to visit some of you, too! That would be so cool....

Joe's probably going to come visit me around my birthday, so that appeases my parents (they really don't feel comfortable with me going out there to be with someone I haven't met in person before, which is understandable).

Anyway, I'm so excited to go overseas! I'm glad it worked out so that it can actually happen, I was really disappointed when we decided Joe should come out here instead. But hey, why not do both, eh?

So yeah, an expensive summer, but it's going to be a total blast!

*shoots the money with his brand new plasma ray gun* Pew, pew!*

*Note: Plasma ray gun turns any recipients of "plasma rays" into peanuts.

L. O. L.

(by the way, my dad thought that stood for "Lots of love" and got confused by it quite easily for a while until we explained it to him  )

So, what's the going price for peanuts these days? Gotta start hawking 'em on street corners before it's too late!
