The smile drops from Admiral's face.

 

"Hold him!"

 

Several of you grab Throum's arms and legs. Then he tosses you all aside.

 

"See, the problem is, hunters these days are too slow. A hundred years ago, I'd be dead already. But now, with this "give everybody a chance" attitude, you just wind up being lunch. No matter. Iv'e already chosen another vessel. Do what you need to do with this one."

 

He laughs.

 

Admiral doesn't.

 

"Done"

 

A stake appears out of nowhere and slams through Thorum's chest. he goes down, writhing, screaming, and then laying still, dead.
