Shadow over Fiddlesmouth Game Thread [GAME OVER, TOWN WINS]

I'm sitting about halfway between Alys and Aemon, here.  I want to identify the Vessel and ensure they're dead before killing the mafia, but I also want to just play the game normally and scum hunt.  Problem is, with all the relic/vessel talk, it is extremely difficult to scum hunt.

 

So, if the mafia have 3 ways to win:

 

1. normal = kill everybody else

2. relic = use the set and win

3. weird = all die and vessel is alive

 

.....I'd say that scum hunting and killing off the mafia ASAP removes 2 out of the 3 win conditions.  My main concern is that by the time we figure out this vessel stuff, the mafia will be on the doorstep of one of the other 2 win conditions and it won't matter that we know the vessel's identity.

 

Ok, now I've just convinced myself and I'm leaning more towards Aemon.  Hmph.

 

 

TL;DR -- Kill the mafia.  Now.

That is all fine but we are uncertain of the other win condition, nowhere does it say something about a set of relics. Seems you made a little slip there Verby.

The acrid tang of ammonia stirs you to waking. The old man smiles as your eyes open and the room slowly come into focus.

 

It is darker than before. The fire that had burned so brightly in the hearth was no longer. You must have passed out at some point during the night, but for how long?

 

A knowing smile creeps along the old man’s face, lit by the only candle left burning in the room, his expression mocking your confusion…

 

“Oh, you’ve not been asleep for too long, have no concern. You didn’t miss anything important.” He cackles, and stands a bit more lithely than you would have given him credit for.

 

Then he slips the spectacles down his nose and it is not the rheumy eyes of old age that stare back at you, but the malevolent stare of something foreign…something that lives far beneath the waves that crash upon the shore below. Something malevolent…and the filthy glass had only served to hide that gaze before.

 

The old man, or maybe not as old as you thought, snuffs the last candle. Darkness fills the room, lit only by the occasional flash of lightning from the oncoming storm.

 

“My friends are not fond of fire, you understand. They prefer the colder, darker places over those heated and lit. But on occasion, they are needed here…”

 

The man reaches behind a bookcase, releases a latch, and you watch as a portion of the wall swings open.

 

“And tonight is just such an occasion.”

 

The old man raises a cupped hand to his mouth and leans his head back. His cry startles you, grating over your nerves, terrifying and shrill.

 

But the response that comes from the dark tunnel is a hundred times worse…

 

Barm, not a cultist, is dead.

There we go. Does anyone have any ideas? The only person that comes to mind for me is Alys, and I am sure that it's because we've been butting heads over how to go about this rather than any actual scummy behavior. Verbal is quiet, but he's LOA. Danya pops her head up every now and then, but I don't recall seeing her around much.

 

10 people left. How many more bad guys do you think we're looking at right now. 4 cultists down. I'd really like to hear people's opinions because I'm completely stumped.

Most likely 2 or 3, not including the vessel if they are still alive. So we are in a pretty good position if my calculations are correct.

something is up with Pookie. i've gotten an innocent vibe all game, but she seems to be being hit by a lot of pr's. this is severely limiting her ability to be helpful, which she has been.

 

Aemon, reread the last few pages? lav already viewed me; please quit suggesting a lynch on me. if you want me dead, you should nk me.

and [glow=red,2,300]Verb[/glow] are my top suspects. Verb said he was silenced but there is no evidence of a silencer in this game. No one else has been affected, also his slip saying the mafia's unknown win condition was to collect all the relics. He has the most pointing at him atm

I think there's at least one more evils, I remember quibs or someone mentioning 5 members of the cult, and we've gotten four so far. And also the vessel and the silencer. Which is exactly what several people have said already, so yeah  :P

Nae already confirmed a silencer I think, and wasnt she confirmed innocent as well? I dont think the silencer sounds like a very towniefriendly role, unless its a relic thats being passed around.

I think Nae did say she was silenced.  I can't remember if she was also confirmed innocent.  Lavinya - help?

Nae never confirmed a silencer, just that she believed one was in the game. Verbal "confirmed" there was a silencer, but we don't know his alignment. A lynch on him would confirm wether there is a silencer or not.

 

Also what about the win condition Danya? How could he have posted that so certainly when no one except the mafia knows it? Sure there have been speculation, Alys thinks it may be the haunter, I even thought it may have something to do with the relics, but I said it was a guess of mine, Verbal posted like he knew it.

looking at the last 3 nights, the mafia are taking down their largest targets first. i cannot say about Wombat or lia having not played with them... but Nae, al, and barms are obvious though the barms addition tried to throw it off. Nae and al were definitely helping; quiet barms would be a threat later even though he hasn't been a big one yet. he has been true to form.

 

i am guessing he is a shot at no info as well. he hasn't aligned anywhere with anyone except maybe lav and anti-Anox, so far as i remember. i plan to look back and see.

i choose to believe there is or was a silencer. Nae was innocent and claimed to have been silenced; why lie? point of interest, however, would be why silence verb if he was nearly silent at the time anyway? did he fake it? did someone believe there was something they didn't want him to say? it is also possible that there is a pr relic that allows the user to set any sort of pr. i think someone mentioned having seen similar before. equally worth pointing out, it could have been a one use silencing relic.

Also, I printed this thread and searched through all of day 3 (thankfully it was the day that was cut short!) and Nae did not post.

I thought I was on to something. But if it was a relic, wouldn't it just be able to be used once? I am still more suspicious of Verb and until someone has more evidence as to why someone else is scum then I am going to leave my vote as is.
