Ok sorry... Don't make me start a list of things in the law world that sound dirty but aren't.  The second of your briefs is due to be filled....

A point on reveals. Of course people are going to lie. If there is a cult leader out there, they aren't going to revels, nor is a solo winner, maybe not even a vig and definately not a seriual killer, if there is any of those roles. So it wouldn't help at all.

At the moment I really have no idea who I'm most suspicious of Some seem to post but don't say anything, and others say a lot.

Far hasn't really pinged my radar yet, however I'm suspicious of Alys having played more games with her, the same with Kivam. But I guess that is all metagaming.

Yes, Rey.  You have figured us out. ::)  I picked on Barm more than once earlier on in the thread.  He jokingly got irritated about it and said he was never going to talk to me again.  As if that was some kind of threat or something.

I don't think I've spoken to reyoru yet. I must be on his team. Liathiana is on my team too, as is Tynaal, and Wes, cause I haven't spoken to any of them yet either.

How about the dozen or so posts since you suggested that idea?  All during the day, without the excuse of it being late.  You ask us to "think numbers" when you can't be bothered to do it first yourself?

Yes.  That's all part and parcel of being dead tired - I made a mistake and didn't even think about running the numbers until I, you know, posted that you should think numbers.

Which reminded me to check em myself.

Leading to the headdesk.

BTW, you weren't kidding in the "Hey Verbal" thread, were you?  ;D

Not really, no.  :P

And I'm metagaming here, but you ALWAYS check the numbers.  So quit playing with your briefs and start crunching properly.  O_o

Defensive.

Double defensive.

After a relatively minor poke.

Rey . . . you may be onto something.

You guys have me wondering what exactly is in Kiv's briefs and I either REALLY want to know, or don't want to know at all!  ;)

Nae, I was joking. Or at least I laid it on a bit thick as a joke. The vote wasn't a joke. And you may not like it, but I do like the way Pete's mind works. We are eerily alike in many ways. His logic pushed me over to cast my vote.

Posted

I'm dreading a reread but perhaps I can come up with something that hasn't already been said if I do or something will pop out at me.

Someone act more suspicious will ya? No? *sighs*

It's not so much agreeing with his playstyle or understanding his crazy logic that bugs me... that's fine and dandy.  Its the contsant-in-every-single-game-singing-his-praises stuff that is getting on my nerves.

Other than that I know you were jesting at me.  I was just encouraging you to step outside of the Pete box sometimes and, even if you share the same general outcome, make it like it really was.. that some of that thought came from YOU instead of making it seem like it was all his.

Yes yes very good Barm  ::)

I'm convinced you and Nae are on the same team.

Call it an educated guess, along with a bit of pot luck.

I see your point, Nae, but kidding around, flirting, having fun - those things are just my posting style. I'm that way in RL, too. Life's too short to always be serious. That ages you too fast. I know. I was in my 80's when I was married. *grinz*

Guys, you are killing me. 83 topic replies.

Claiming the wrong role and doubling up is always a big risk for mafia.

I disagree. He said she said is an easy way to hide. RE: First Fiddles Mafia ever.

So, in one part of my mind I'm thinking those that oppose it the loudest are probably scummy.

Not really. Those who oppose the loudest are likely trying to protect something. This is equal for mafia and for those who don’t want the finder/healer teams dead. See, the town likes to be protected at night and likes to know that someone is helping to whittle down the choices of who to kill during the day.

Why am I ALWAYS first post on a new page lately.

Posterity. :D

Kivam and Alys maybe taking us all for a ride.

That would be great… Except I never get to be on his team.

That said, Kivy, I still want to hear from you WHY. I am withholding my vote until you actually explain it.

Kivam's plan will eliminate from the field of suspicion a few players, those with uncontested role claims. The players that do have contested claims will either be the real role, or mafia. The rest of us can target those players at night to figure things out. Yay!

With a lot of chances at being wrong, aka high chances of both good and bad parties being killed in the night. Then there are the unknown roles with unknown alignments. See, I don’t like kill and check later scenarios.

Far, your first point has some merit to it, but not the second or third. So there's a lot of roles and it might take some work?

And the last point is rolefishy rolefishy rolefishy ('coz you're mafia with Alys).

How’s the 3rd point role fishing again? See, when you keep using the same excuse over and over without any reasoning behind it, it not only gets old and annoying, but you begin discrediting yourself because everyone else begins to be able to see through your ruse. Second question is obviously rhetorical. Or maybe you missed that.

Second point is valid because if we had more information on which to base our assumptions after a mass role reveal, then it would be easier to swallow. At this point, we have naught but naught. That means it’d be chaotic, which helps only the mafia. So yeah, no.

Plus the two that actually have the roles the liars picked.

There are sets that counter each other, so there would be a lot of lies. Full doc, cop. Psych doc, poison doc and their counter parts for example.

P.S. I like your sig Alys, great song and band.

Thanks. Only heard of them a few months ago, but that song gets me every time. :D

What you are overlooking is that if the cop and doc die, there are that many fewer "liars" for the mafia to hide among.

Except all of the abilities that work to that effect.

Glad you finally saw it, Kivy.

however I'm suspicious of Alys having played more games with her, the same with Kivam. But I guess that is all metagaming.

Yeah, thanks. Let us know when you have more info. Figured some would like to keep my name in that list. I’m watching.

I think we need to start consolidating votes to go forward. There’s not going to be much more info until we do. Anyone else interested in the whole post your top suspects and reasons play?

OK, my rundown at this point. Be aware my brain feels fuzzy and over loaded… The three I remember having issues with the most were:

Pandy and his you are role fishing after he revealed for no real reason.

Kivy and his whole let’s mass reveal on day 1- Wait! I didn’t check the numbers.

And Daet’s weird logic then vote.

I actually had a good think about the mass reveal on thought may be a good idea because

-DPR's games always seem to favor a cult or mafia win, the townies are always the most confused at the beginning and by the time they realize whats going on it's too late.

-People are going to lie but this is going to limit the targets of the mafia and solo winners because as soon as anyone dies who has the same role and is innocent then one of them will be lynched the next day.

-It might not seem like the best idea right now, but as the game progresses i think it will pay dividends for the town and may give us the best option later on in the game.

I may be flawed in my thinking here but for what its worth [glow=green,2,300]reveal[/glow]

Have you even been reading Pale? Kivam who first suggested the reveal is even backtracking now and of all the people posting only you and one other have ever bothered to vote when Kivam beckoned.

I think Alys is making a lot of sense at the moment. I'm leaning towards Pandy at the moment.

Posted

Really? Even Kivam has backpedalled on that. Are you sure its a good idea?

The mafia know each other, if theres a cult(which is likely it is DPR), theres bound to be solo winners, they can easy mix in and pick off the town while we all spend days pointing fingers and getting picked off being no further forward, and falling further behind.

The solo killers get even better odds of hitting the townies we need (please quit forgeting all the healer/cop variants) after a reveal even if they are trying to be helpful little solos. Not good.

Check the numbers, Pale. It might work later with more info but never day one. EVER.

Posted

That's because DPR is wicked and twisted, but playing into mafia hands won't help us win. Rather it would help us lose spectacularly. They have small numbers and they are hidden among us, they always start with the advantage. We need to play smart and pay close attention. Work together and not knee-jerk our reactions to counter the mafia tendancy to win. Don't disregard small things because they tend to pile up.

If you have a town aligned role that could work against the town if misused, use it wisely, especially if it is a one time only use. That goes for the vig or anyone who can change a protection status or anything similar. It goes without saying, but again, people like to know they've used their skill before they died...

Maybe you could point me too the last game that the town won in a DPR game :D.....anyway that was just my thoughts on it, i'll leave it there.

Probably the Suras Hunt, which started with a mass reveal  ;D

Did nobody else see Barm's & Nae's responses as ridiculously defensive for Reyoru's minor poking?  I'm inclined to agree with Rey that they are actually teammates.

This is essentially what I was thinking . . . but running the numbers, its a terrible idea.
