Question about Forsaken.

It's fun to "re-live for the first time" LoC with you.  I remember scratching my head at some of that stuff too.  You are a brave soul to even be on these boards if you haven't read up to Knife of Dreams at least.

I just wanna say, you're more perceptive than I was at that point in the series.  I'm glad that I was all caught up when I started lurking online all those years ago.  I did have one thing spoiled for me, because I purchased the BWB (the World of Robert Jordan's the Wheel of Time white book) before I had finished LoC, and it had a spoiler in it that had happened during LoC.  I was disappointed that it was spoiled for me, and I've been much more careful about spoilers every since.

I think most figured out who the 'gars were with the help of The Big White Book.  If you read that passage where the 'gars are first shown, and info most easily gotten from tBWB, put the two together and you can find your own answers.

That is a review of the book I mentioned, called The World of Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time, and release around the 7th book (so has SOME info up thru book 6 if I remember correctly).  Lots of info about the Age of Legends, the War of Power, the Breaking, and just about every other major even up until the time of the books.  Cool info about the Seanchan and Shara, even the Isle of Madmen which to my knowledge you never hear about in the books.  It is written like a text book, it is a very informative read, but not a real page turner.  I saw it just yesterday at Barnes and Noble, so I know it is still in print (though it is paperback not hardback like my copy is).

Actually, neither is Ishamael or Asmodean.  The first section of the prologue told Asmodean would not be coming back.

The scene tells that the male help created shadowspawn.  That is a hint on who he was.

All he said about Asmodean was "He who betrays me shall die the final death.  Asmodean twisted by his weakness.  Rhavin.." etc..Beacuse technically Asmodean never betrayed him.  And the only thing we've been told about shadowspawn up to this point is that they were created 'by the forsaken', never said it was a certain one.  But with all that being said, I now know it's AGINOR and BALTHAMEL.  Guessing the woman is Aginor?  Since only a rash person would kill themselves drawing too much OnePower.  ? =)  you don't have to tell me if im right.  What's curiuos to me though, is if the WOMAN is indeed Aginor, a male.  When he/she touches the power, is it saiden or saidar?  =)

I'm always very careful about spoilers, which is why I only go to forums and ask questions...and hope people are kind enough to just answer my questions and not spoil something.  One problem though is signatures.  And i'm hoping YOURS is a joke. =)  That would be quite a plot twist...creator trapped in the prison?  I would be curious how they would avoid all the plot holes to explain that one.

Also I was wondering when to read up in that BWB book.  So after Knife of Dreams I can read through the white book?  Or after LOC?  Also what about "New Spring"?  What order?

I just realized something, that maybe I'm over thinking here but...

When Rand attacked Rhavin at the end of FOH.  He chose to "skim", meaning he opened a portal, put everyone on some platform, and moved them to another location, then opened another portal, and they stepped out.  But he could only hold a certain amount of people.

Now he is moving everywhere via a portal that you step through, and are on the other side immediately.  Why couldn't he have done that, and let everyone come..instead of "skimming"?

Because it's a different, more complicated, skill, which should be, or shortly will be, explained. It's the same skill he used to move to the alternate world where he fought Ishamael and Rahvin. He partly remembered because of the 'memories' he has of being Lews Therin (some things come intuitively), but he also managed to get a look at the weave again after Rahvin wove it, or at least the residue of it, and he copied it (and remembered) when he chased Rahvin. It was stated flat out that he saw the weave where he... well, when he sees the weave.

New Spring, you would not be spoiled if read after the first two main books.

The BWB (also called guide), like another poster told, contains info from the first 7 books and later updated to include info from the 8th.

There is a section near the middle that is completely pictures of the covers; the older version has covers 1 through 7, the newer version has covers 1 through 8.

Because he didn't know how to Travel then. It was mentioned in FoH that Asmo couldn't teach him.

Guessing the woman is Aginor?
Other way around. The lecherous Balthamel became Aran'gar.
When he/she touches the power, is it saiden or saidar?  =)
Saidin.

BTW, chris777, my sig is definitely a joke... Though I have a strange theory about the Creator being the one who was "bound at the moment of Creation" and not just the Dark One.  It is just a theory, and likely too off-the-wall to be real.  I didn't spoil anything for you in my signature.
