Reunions and confrontations in the last books

What are some character interactions you would like to see in the last books? Anything from old friends or lovers being reunited, anticipated showdowns, or characters who've never met that you would like to see come face to face. I will start off with three of mine though there are many more.

 

I really want to see Siuan and Elaida face to face again. I just got through TSR on my 'nth time through the audiobooks, and it brought back to me how furious Siuan was after the coup. It had kind of gotten lost on me with Egwene taking center stage so much recently, but Siuan has more reason than any to want to slap Elaida silly. I mean, she killed her warder for no reason. That's just not cool. I'd love to see Siuan get her revenge.

 

Another would be a meeting between Cadsuane and Egwene. Egwene really stepped up in KoD, truly becoming the Amyrlin. Given Cadsuane's low opinion of most Aes Sedai, I think it will be very interesting to see what she makes of Egwene, and whether or not she will submit to her. And what Egwene makes of her as well.

 

Lastly, one fight I would like to see. I would love to see Mat just mess up the gholam's day. Although, as much as I love Mat, I admit this may be very hard for him to do on his own. But...he is lucky! ;)

Oh, I really would like to see Tam reunited with Rand! And that it could happen when Tam could have a very positive and supportive role in Rand's life. After Rand had gone through so much anguish after hearing Tam ramble in his fever about finding the baby, and Tam was so important to him then to be ripped from him; and also now Tam is with Perrin and sooner or later they will recombine forces, I think we might get to see this come about.

-Egwene & Gawyn (because she is yet to bond him)

-Rand & the borderlanders

-Rand & Masema (and Perrin)

-Rand & Tuon

-Rand & his 3 lovers (because they are yet to get married)

-Rand & the Amyrlin (after White Tower becomes reunited)

-Egwene & Seanchan woman (Egwene's rescue)

-Moiraine & her rescuers

-maybe Siuan or Verin bringing the Horn to Mat

-maybe the 3 taveren meeting just before Tarmon Gaidon

Mate your awesome. In a fight without the power, I’m backing Elaida, guess she knows how to handle women.(in a fight obviously...obviously) ;D

I want in-depth coverage of Perrin and Faile's "conversation" about the Broken Crown (of Saldea) and Faile's exact position in the line of succession. Taking into account some of Perrin's musings in KOD, I think Elyas has more or less spilled the beans on that subject. ;D

Then again, all that have been mentioned I would like to see. As for the one reunion I most want to see, is Rand, Perrin, Matt, Nyn, Egwene, Morianne, Lan, and Thom, all be together before the last battle. It seems rather poetic that the story should come full circle.

I'd like to see a reunion of Moiraine and Siuan. It would be neat to see them together again.

Also, Moiraine and Nynaeve. I'd like to see the dynamic between them now after so many things have happened.

 

Morgase reuniting with her spawn and Galad would be nice scene. Considering they all think she's dead. And besides, she needs some real emotional support. She has Lini but Lini is a far cry from one of her children.

 

Faile and Tenobia. I dunno, I've always wanted to see them interact.

 

Taim and Logain. A confrontation between the two would be nifty.

 

There are many more I'd like to see but I'll leave it at that ;P

I've got to second this. I'm sure pretty soon now it's going to turn from Seanchan vs Rand to Everyone vs Shadow. Well, not 'everyone', obviously. There will always be prats who only consider themselves. We've already seen one or two relatively human viewpoints from Seanchan, so they're slowly being turned from the second big bad to a useful ally (though one with some customs that need changing).

 

Perhaps the one I'd most like to see is Logain vs Taim. Logain is one of my very favourite characters, and I despise Taim. One of the things I'd like to know, yet probably won't, is how strong Logain actually is. We know from the famous KoD farmhouse scene that he's not far at all behind Rand, so surely he's quite a way up there? I just wonder how he squares up against one of the forsaken, male or female. Or Taim. On that note, I'd also like to see Logain (with others or not, I don't care) vs a forsaken. Can you tell I like Logain yet? I like Logain.

 

The good thing about confrontations is that you don't need to be a huge fan of either of the sides to be able to pick one to root for. The Elaida vs Alviarin "incident" is a good example. I'm not exactly fond of Elaida, but I found her showing down of Alviarin to be extremely satisfying. Everyone's a good guy against a dark friend. The very concept of a Dark Friend is a good one for a fantasy world, as it gives a relatively clear cut "bad guy". In the real world, "bad guys" might not be so bad after all, or at least you might understand their position. That's extremely rare with something as "evil" as Darkfriends, though obviously there are exceptions (Ingtar, anyone?).

On a side note, has Rand figured out for sure that his mother is Tigraine?  I mean I know that we know and the pieces are there, but it would make for an interesting dynamic for Rand to greet Galad as a brother.

Would love to see Mat or Tuon try and deal with Cadsuane.

I would like to see Mat Rand and Perrin get together and sort of catch up. I think the swirling colors they are all seeing is going to slowly drag them all together. I will especially like seeing Mat explain his marriage.

 

I would like to see a Moiraine and Cadsuane showdown. I think this is inevitable and will be classic WoT greatness. Although I am not sure if they will hate each other or team up and help each other.

 

On that not I will love any Moiraine reunion/confrontation.

 

I will also like to see Rand meeting with his Two Rivers people, chiefly Tam.

 

As was commonly said I will also enjoy the Rand Galad we are brothers confrontation.

Most of the things Im anticipating most are relating to Rand.

 

I cant wait to see how the link to Moridin plays out. I think a bodyswap would be brilliant, and I think the Logain swap would come as a brilliant twist after everyone first believing Rand would merge with Lews Therin or Moridin. I do, however, think the way the Nae'blis and Dragon Reborn are connected is an incredible thing. The Lights champion connected to the Shadows equivalent... classic fantasy style in an awesome way. I would love it if Rand took Moridins body and showed up to a Forsaken meeting before any Forsaken knew Moridin was dead.

 

Rands reunion with Moiraine. Why hasnt anyone else said this? I can just imagine this to be not longer after Cadsuane teaches Rand to laugh and cry (whether or not that is literal I dont know but the gist is obvious) and Moiraines return would be a brilliant place to have Rand feel his emotions to the fullest again. Relief. Her return could very easily shatter Rands list, or be a big part of it.

 

Seriously, am I the only person who loves the fact that the Shadow are winning by such a big margin? I want more!

Rand's list is indestructable, it would most likely just remove her name, and soften him up a bit because that is what he uses to harden himself
