Create-a-Role Mafia Game Thread: Game Over!

Wow, well that was most interesting.  Rainbow scum, eh?  I actually bought his arguement; however, this is why it is still better to have proof.  Interesting that DJ, Danya, and Verbal have not voted and all three have been online since the game began. 

 

Moggy, you were on the list of folks who were NOT supposed to vote Barmy and yet you did. How come?

So did I, DPR suggested those on that list to vote, as we had a few people that hadn't booked in yet.

 

Well that was certainly interesting, though looking back he was quick to jump on that role that someone suggested. At the moment DPR looks suspicious to me. Why did he leave his vote off, maybe because he didn't want to vote for his team member, but when it happened so fast put his name on the end to make him look innocent, just a thought of mine anyway!

Moggy did exactly what I was afraid of - she joined the bandwagon in progress. Maybe she did it without reading the thread, or maybe she did it as a cover. With only seven pages (and the first few sign -up banter) I thought that she was pushing a Barm Lynch because she knew he was innocent and telling the truth. But now that theory is blown out of the water.

 

I thought that by placing the 7th vote and asking for a mod-confirmation we could control the outcome better. The other option was to wait for another person to stumble in and "innocently vote" for Barm, leaving us with no info.

 

Now we do have some info - but it raises a few more questions:

 

Why would Barms risk a throw-away gambit like that? And where does Mynd fit in? He came up with the idea, but even after I pointed out a potential danger, he did not try to stop it from happening. Mynd, I need to ask you why you ignored my warning and watched it happen - then brought it up on your first post after the lynch.

 

I also can't figure out why Barms would have made a flase reveal like that on the first day. I'm leaning towards the fact that he was compelled to do it, but then somebody made a lucky choice when they picked him. Maybe we have a daytime finder - or maybe it was just a bad gambit.

I have not been online actually.. I was on before roles were sendt out. But since then I have been lost in weekend. Good going though. But why would Barm

let himself go along with this? and what exactly does rainbow scum mean?

One can only presume that be appearing to cooperate with us, Barm was hoping enough would be inactive.

 

In fact, continuing on that line of thought, if Barm knew that one (or more) scum were on the short list put out by Mynd and he could be confident of not getting lynched, he looks completely innocent by helping us. However the "8vote" comment seems a little out of place.

 

Well, i guess we wait for Day, but i for one am looking hard at Mynd's list again.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean, stop the lynch from happening?  Stop Moggy from voting?  What warning did I ignore?  Aren't you the one who placed the hammer vote?  And why are we even debating this since Barmy was a lying liar who lies and is now a dead Rainbow Scum?  We got a scum on Day 1 and DPR is tossing suspicion my way?  That in itself raises more than one eyebrow.....

 

....still, there is such a thing as too damn easy.  Suppose that Barmy is indeed the Super Miller, possibly a bit of payback from CP in light of how Christmas Mafia went down.  (Reminder: the game is never over until the mod says it is!).  Suppose the only bit that Barmy lied about was the 8 votes thing?  If I began a game and found out that not only would I be the Miller, but everyone else got a pm saying that I was scum.....I would try and come up with a way for me not to be lynched.  It is quite possible that even in the coroner report, Barmy looked like scum. 

 

Did anyone create a role like this?  Did anyone create a Rainbow Scum role?

I was just asking why you didn't jump in and keep the votes from pilling on Barm. It was a good plan, obviously, but if Barm had been telling the truth it would have been easy for the mafia to hang back and then do what Moggy did.

 

It's not a huge point either way...I'm just trying to figure out why Barm did what he did.

Where was it said who should vote Barm and who shouldn't? I counted how many votes were on him and worked out that I would only be the 6th. This was not the 7th or the 8th so it did not have any great effect on the game.

Furthermore, upon reviewing the list, I recommend the following list of 7 players to vote Barmy:

 

1) Myndrunner (already voted)

2) DPR

3) Thorum

4) Daetirion

5) Verbal32

6) Dark Justice

7) Barmy

 

The 5 who shall NOT vote for Barmy:

1) Moggy

2) Danya

3) Lia

4) Talya

5) Thorum

 

One would notice that I have included Barmy as #7 because if he ends up with 6 votes and refuses to vote for himself, that will tell us quite a bit, won't it?  Also, I have removed all the ladies from voting not to be sexist, but in Chapter 12 of Metagaming for Dummies: in co-ed mafia games, at least one of the mafia is female.  Thorum makes #5 simply because he already has a vote on Verbal. 

 

Does everyone agree with these two lists?

T'is never too early, DPR.  Besides, I was only trying to figure out what the heck you were talking about.  It seemed like you were accusing me of not stopping the Barmy lynch when you were the hammer vote.  That in itself is just kinda WTF logic to me.

 

But if anyone believes that Moggy didn't read the bit about her not voting for Barmy, I've got the deed to a shiny, orange bridge in San Francisco I could sell ya.   ;)

 

Well, I don't imagine that the Pumpkin that I created would want to reveal himself/herself; but I will go ahead and say that I am one of the more valuable members of the town.  What roles have you all created?

I'm still wondering why Barms pulled what he did. Does anyone have any new thoeries on that?

All I can think of is that he knew the "Barmy is mafia" was sent to everybody, and hoped to get people to unvote with his false revealing.  I'm also thinking that he just made a mistake and didn't realize we would just test out the theory.
