Welcome to the Band Wyrm, glad you found your way to the best Org at DM.

*hands a couple of Combat Cognacs*

Now, for the official stuff ;) you've been added to the Band's usergroup so you should be able to see our private boards above the main board now. Check your inbox as I sent you a PM with some important information.

Look forward to seeing you at the off site for your training. Have fun and hang on to your socks, teeth and anything else that's not securely fixed down as the Marshal General, Corki, will be here with the Official Spiel some time soon.

*tacklehugs*  Welcome to the best Org ever!!  ;D  Glad you decided to join.  I'm Brid, current CG of the Cavalry.  I'm looking forward to your RR time, it's such a delicious...uh, I mean fun, time for all!  *gotta stop thinking about eating the recruits*  ;)

*rolls out a barrel of Bandy*  Finest drink in the Org if I may say. Now hold on to your knickers!  The Spiel is a comin!

Welcome to the Band Wyrm!!  It's great to have ya here with us!! I'm DJ the current LG of the Cavalry.  *hands a barrel of bandy*  hehehe, like Brid said, this is the finest drink in all the org...except M-G brew of course.  I hope you enjoy your time here in the band! There's tons of people to meet and lots of fun to be had!! I look forward to working with you in your week with the Cav!  If you have any questions feel free to ask any one of us!  We're all here to help!!  Welcome again Wyrm!!

Well, MG is definitely the best drink in the band, but I'd have to argue about bandy...

Welcome to the Band, Wyrm!  Judging by your name, you should be right at home during your week with us infantry types...  ;D  *Hands over a stein of Guinfantry to the new RR*  There now, get that lot down ya!  That's the real second best drink in the Band.  No offense to bandy, but you know that Cavie types like to hang around their horses just a little to much and you know what Horses do a lot of... you do the math! :P

Anyway, hope you have a great time with all the reg's during our RR time.

Welcome to the Band Wyrm.  I am Samurai the Carnie of the Band, and member of the archers.  Here is the drink that will really put some hair on your chest...Flaming Shots...Then just to burn it back off...Flamethrowers.

We'll keep our eye out for your trip through the Range.

Hellow Wyrm!  Nice to see you here at the Band! :)  I'm Jea, C-G of the Archer's.  *hands Wyrm a cup of brew tea and a plate full of her extra special chocolate fudge brownies*  And that is one of my fav meals ;) lol!  Can't wait to see you in the Range!

Hi there Whyrm! I see you managed to find your way to the Band in one piece. Now the trick is to stay that way ;)

You may remember me from the Newbie board but just in case, I'm the Captain-General and Blademaster of the Infantry and Editor in Chief of the Hornsounder. Grab yourself a Guinny or 10 (Katjoo is quite right you know, it is the best drink in the Band) and hold on to your breaches. Corki's Amazing Spiel will blow you away and the chance of losing anything not pinned down properly is quite real. *nods solemnly*

Welcome home, Recruit! Looking forward to seeing you around the Barracks.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

More barrels of Bandy than I know what do with! Well...that's not true, I'm sure I can find a use for them.  ;)

Who can resist chocolate fudge brownies either? Not me, that's for sure.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Corki's spiel is all about, and the chance to see all of you around of course.

And just wait for Corki's spiel, it really is something special  ;)

*joins in on the support for Guinfantry as second best behind M-G brew, and tosses the Recruit some too*

Oh yeah and i cant wait to see you at the Barracks, m'lad

Wow! I've managed to get here on time! lol! it's a bit of a surprise, as I am on a rather poor internet connection! Anyway, I hope you have had enough time to get everything loose tied down...as it is time for the official spiel! Are you ready?

*official spiel*

Welcome Wyrm! An email explaining important information about the Band is currently sitting in your inbox! Take a read! Also check your PMs too! ;)

Basically, the Band of the Red Hand is the Travel and Music ORG at DM! By signing up for the Band, you have joined the successful Raw Recruit Scheme. By signing up for the off board site, you will be able to experience the whole process to the maximum! The Executive Officer, BridMorgan will assign you to one of the three Regiments (Archers, Cavalry, Infantry) for a week, where you will be given various tasks to perform, hoping that you will get a picture of what time in each Regiment is like. After a week with each Regiment, you will be asked to pick your final choice of a Regiment.

While being a Raw Recruit, there is nothing stopping you from earning points like any other Band member. Points lead to promotion within the Band. Below is a list of possible ways to earn points:

- writing reviews on places to visit/holidays you have been on

- writing reviews on music albums and gigs

- replying to other people's reviews and asking questions

- composing Jak O' the Shadow verses

- getting articles published in our monthly newspaper, The Hornsounder

- posting in the monthly roll call in the Band's private boards here at DM

- any DM project we may have, which includes our Quote Project (speak to Amavia and Angyl)

- and much much more I cannot think of right now!

If you complete your time as a Raw Recruit within 3 to 4 weeks, you will get a special award (called the Raw Recruit Stripe) which you can add to your siggy as well!

While being a Raw Recruit, you get 3 free strikes. This enables you to break Band Law 3 times without being punished by the Redarms, the Band's very own police force. If they see any Law breaking, they will either drag you up for a trial or give you a fun spot fine to do (usually 100 lines of something witty). Channeling is a major no-no in the Band. As is spilling Battle Brew, our beloved drink! Once you have used up your 3 strikes, or join the Band's ranks officially, you will face the full force of Band Law like any other Bander does!

Of course, we are not all about working 24/7, as we do let our hair down now and then! We are famous for our bar brawls, which happen frequently!Keep an eye out for one! We also like jokes, tales, funny pictures - things that will make us laugh!

We also have many games - at DM, which can be found in the stickies, or the Lottery set up in our Dicing with Jak O' the Shadows board, which you will see once you have signed up for the private boards here at DM. There are also several games on the off board site as well! Also, take the lessons to learn our ORG Game, based on the luck of dice! You get the selected weapons of your Regiment, and can fight anyone in the Band! We'll give you a practise fight so you can get your bearing until you are ready to challenge a Bander. Also look out for our festivals of various games using the dice roller and ORG Game. There are many staff members for the Game who will be willing to help you out.

Once you have been added to the list for the private boards here, you will also be able to participate in our lottery game, which takes place in the Dicing With Jak O' the Shadows board. It is a lot of fun, and your winnings can buy you various goodies!

If you have a Facebook account, search for the group 'DM Band of the Red Hand'. Click to apply. Then PM/email Tay, Brid or I to say you've requested to join, and we'll accept it. I'm using Facebook as another way to communicate with Banders!

If I have left anything out (which I expect I have!), do not hesitate to ask questions! Someone will be able to answer them for you!

One last thing...

*hand Wyrm a Marshal-General's Special Battle Brew*

CARAI AN SHEN AN CALHAR!!!!!

I mentioned before that it reminded me of LoTR, but it could just as easily have been The Hobbit, yup.

Wonder where it originated.
