Did Elayne have the BIG "O"?

And I don't even think the connection with Saidar is supposed to be made, either. I think that the man likes to have control, and the woman surrenders herself. Just like in real life, a man likes to have control over everything, and the woman surrenders to her emotions.

No sexual imagery there, at least, there shouldn't be too much read into that.

hmm... I thought that whole argument was that it was NOT sexual

you refer to yourself as he?

Whoa! I didn't realize that I had said that. lol.

Big mistake. I didn't, and don't really, mean that after looking at what I wrote.

I can't understand what I was thinking at the time. My thoughts were so convoluted.

I actually ended up saying something that made sense only in a sexual context, yet that was the opposite of my meaning.

I started this topic trying to be relatively respectful but humorous because I have found when there are several instances when RJ implements sexual comedy in this series.  I do believe,(Don't beat me up if I'm wrong its been 3 years since I read it!) That Nynaeve & Elayne were staying at a sort of brothel in Tanchico.

Overall, I was just wondering what would happen to the Randland communities' POV toward Aes Sedai (especially Aeil wise ones) if they suspected that the WT bound itself by 3 oaths to a 3000 year old sexual toy? Whether true or not, it would certainly be politically damaging ;D

I always thought that scene down in the basement with the Oath Rod was kinda weird. Like, Yukiri et al are like "omg wut r u doin in da basement" and then when Saerin uncovers the Oath Rod they're all like "LOL". I just got this feeling they thought Pevara and Seaine were doing something dirty.

Then of course there's the Meidani/Elaida thing.

A ter'angreal in the form of a wrist-thick red rod about a foot long. It feels firm rather than hard and feels even warmer than ter'angreal normally do. The red rod is activated by Fire. It creates visual and aural illusions, but if the user is unwary it may put her to sleep and broadcast her fantasies and dreams.

Guest Stefania Sedai

You know, I don't get over here to the discussion boards very often. And when I finally do, what do I find?  ::)Elayne and ter'angrel sex toys. You can't even sell those regular ones here in Alabama!

I don't think that Elayne did anything even close to what Dighe suggeted in her first post, but I am not surprised at the sexual ambiguity of the scene. RJ obviously likes a little t&a in his writings. I mean, have you ever stopped and considered how many times the women in this series have to get naked? You have to test for Accepted and Aes Sedai naked, you have to go to Rhuidean naked, they are naked in the sweat tents..... Where are the naked men??? Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are no scenes inside the Aeil men's sweat tents. When the chiefs meet they are nice and dressed. Not to even mention the Accepted's "pillow friends"! You don't see the Warders hopping in each other's beds. This series is DEFINITELY written by a man!
