I ain't sure if the moderators will all approve of the posting of a website which has a petition to Amazon.com and Sony Television. However, I hope that everyone on Dragonmount.com will sign this petition, and encourage your friends to also do so.

I'm curious when viewers should worry.  It takes about 1 1/2 years for a season to come out.  So even a 6-month delay in getting an agreement means a 2 year wait.  How long until some of the actors start looking for new gigs?

If another writers strike happens.

I hope they renew for a 4th season - would love to see the show progress to its conclusion.

Whilst I have my criticisms of the show and some of the direction it has taken I think S3 was the strongest season so far.

They just need to pull things back on track a little more, respect the source material and nod to it where they can. I feel like they could do with a small committee of readers they bounce things off.

So overall, I wish the show well, but I do wish they would focus more on Wheel of Time how it was meant to be, not how the showrunner intends it to be - but again, my opinion and ymmv.

Any concern US proposed entertainment tariffs may delay or cancel season 4?

Probably hard to tell. Last I heard it was now a possible proposal rather than an official announcement. But it would potentially make filming outside the US very difficult, although daddy bezos does have an inside track with the orange merkin so who knows what type of advantage that may yield for him.

I mean how would you work out the tariff for a show like WoT to start with significant filming outside US but some of the work done inside US I assume and for a streaming market? Do you increase the subscription? How do you work out the % on that? It's another brain fart from a fool IMO.

I read somewhere that govt tax credits and subsidies might be target of direct tariffs.  I know UK and Czech Republic have been significant for Amazon.  I would think possible delays at minimum to understand what shows may actually cost.

From what I have read "It’s not at all clear how such a tariff would be imposed. Films are intellectual property, not goods, so they represent a kind of service that is not currently subject to tariffs. However, the USTR notes that some services can be subject to certain non-tariff trade barriers, such as regulations and tax incentives. Those could disadvantage American filmmaking."

I honestly can't see this going very far since the countries could do the same to movies made in the US since many US states such as Georgia offer tax incentives.  The movie industry now depends on the foreign market sales.

The entire "nation emergency" because films are being produced outside of the US is baffling.

As Sabio mentioned above no one is entirely sure how it could be imposed or what films/shows would be impacted.  The original message only mentioned films "produced" outside the US.  Does that mean only entirely foreign made films?  Then that shouldn't affect WoT as it is an Amazon production.  But I have a feeling that isn't what was implied.

I doubt that any tariffs are imposed. For all the reasons discussed above. But there may be saber rattling that results in some sort of new incentives for US productions.

Exactly, it just seems impossible to enforce.  For instance, how would you tariff a movie such as the latest Mission Impossible which is shot in numerous countries including the US?

I wonder if Fallout being renewed for season 3 is a good or bad omen for the WOT.  I do worry Amazon might think they can't support WOT, Fallout, and ROP and maybe one needs to go.  Fallout is the second most-streamed show on Prime.

Why renew something which will just lose more money? The serial is a failure.
