Happy Halloween!

So as Halloween approaches, it's fun to recall festivities past. Is there a particular costume that you particularly enjoyed wearing or a specific party you attended that you recall fondly?

Share these special memories with us.

I spent Halloween '07 in BASIC training. I got a picture of my oldest (2yrs old at the time) in a Captain Picard outfit (bald cap and everything), looking so happy and proud. Got me through some rough, lonely nights out there in San Antone'. Thanks for reminding me ?

I'm fellow AF too :).

One of my favorite costumes was when I was in the third grade (I think), and I was a butterfly (along with my sister). My mom made me a beautiful flowy dress and awesome sparkly wings. And then she curled my hair and painted my face with this pretty glittery paint. I felt so pretty! (I wish I had a picture) I think I even won 2nd place in the costume contest at school that year.

One of my favourite memories is when I was 5 I wanted to dress up as catwoman. I was determined catwoman could not have blonde hair like me, she had to be a burnette. So my mum got one of those wash in and wash out hairdyes.

Come to Halloween we had a party at school and your parent had to come pick you up. And I remember shouting and waving to get her attention, and it was like she could hear me but her eyes just kept passing over me and it was weird. Afterwards she had to admit she forgot that I wasn't blonde so she didn't recognise me haha.

Awwww...lol that is precious!

I didn't grow up with halloween, so I have not to many years of memories to choose from..I'm not very big on every day make-up, but I always love doing kiddoes hair and make-up, it's like you can unfold yourself in creativity only not on a flat canvas, I love those little moments?

She really is. I felt fortunate as a kid that I had a mom that was not only creative, but could make that creativity a reality.

One of my favorite Halloweens was my Sophomore year of high school. I, and three of my friends (all of us girls), decided to go (our school did a HUGE halloween costume parade and competition with prizes every year).... as the three musketeers and D'Artagnan (specifically from the 1993 Disney live action, of course). We designed and sewed the tabards ourselves, bent rapiers out of coat hangers and thin craft dowels. However, as one of my best friends is Jewish we decided to put the school mascot on them instead of big silver crosses.

This was awesome for three reasons. First, we got to run around school fencing all day and no teachers minded. Second, we won 'Best School Spirited Costumes' for the mascots (which meant study snacks for weeks as a prize!), and Third....that evening we were at one friend's house for Halloween to have a party, and we ended up escorting her younger neighbor and her friends around the neighborhood for trick-or-treating, and managed to keep the local neighborhood teens that were skulking around from causing trouble for the little kids. (The adults handing out candy were so grateful they demanded that we also take candy even though we were just there to keep an eye on the younger kids.) It was a great day. ?

One of my favorites was when two of my friends and I dressed up as pro wrestlers and went to the local wrestling show. This is before the WWE was all there was. One of the characters was called the sheik, and his trunks said OIL on the butt. We put the word GAS instead. The producers of the show asked us to stand in a certain place so they could get us on camera. It was so much fun!

I remember the Sheik! Probably not the Sheik, but so cool. I loved pro-wrestling as a kid, from way back to just after the Rock got big ? good memories ?
