I'm WIFOMing myself into circles here,  but I disagree that there's "basically a ZERO percent chance in lynching scum" if a wolf ends up in the accusers position.

This one time, I played this game where 3 people were up for a lynch (highest voted, lowest voted and scum pick) and the scum team had everyone up for a lynch one day. 

 

It's not likely, but it's not impossible, but it's also not likely. So it's not productive to think about it ATM I think.

I didn't mean ever.  I meant today.  There are lots of situations down the road where a scumteam might decide it's better to distance and run the risk of a self-driven lynch than to go down together.  I think there's basically no situation where mafia completely risks screwing themselves over.  

 

Okay, I do have one, but it's stupid and it's not going to happen.  I'm not going to bother putting it out there (if anyone really wants to know, write this down and ask me in postgame).

I mean, fine, you can WIFOM yourself all you want, but I think the argument was more that we shouldn't try to intentionally put scum in the driver's seat because if they don't have to bus, they probably aren't going to.

That was entirely different though - ultimately, the mafia controlled who died (or perhaps more accurately, could control.)  Once the nomination is made, it's completely up to the rest of the game.  If one mafia is the accuser, and one's the defender, that means 10 townies and 1 mafia get to be the jury.  

 

But you're right it's really not that productive to think about. /shrug

None but I read his last game in here and thought he was a wolf from his first post. He turned out to be one that some laid off of because it was his first game here.

That would play exactly into Clov’s idea, which would be funny is nothing else.

 

Theres probably a few different viable approaches but I’m not sure which way would be best yet. We can trust someone that is generally consensus and allow them to choose ok their own (this would be more informative in the verdict results I think) or we could do the same with the nominee but use a more majority approach to agree on who gets put on trial. Which leaves less wiggle room in the verdict results but also spells trouble is wolves can into the town core.
