He isn't, actually. Darthe is pretty good at soul reads. I really feel like I'm beating a dead horse saying this every game, but he sees right through me nearly instantly every time.

That's cause I totally am making the bare minimum effort. More than half of my posts in this game so far have been me on my phone, frantically trying to catch up. Not exactly something I'm proud of, but chance happened to place the beginning of this game right on a time period that I didn't know in advance would make it difficult to keep up with a mafia game. I'll get better, promise.

I actually played in a game where this happened. He was a Mason cop. His partner told him not to but he had read about Follow the cop and fell in love with it so ignored all advice.

 

So he claimed cop... In a closed set up. I was scum that game and we then strongmanned him that night.

Little snapshot after blasting thru those ~20 pages.

 

Darthe looks like the same as he did in Clov’s game. The point about his arrogance irt reads was spot on. After seeing him as both alignments in back to back games I think the presentation is the key. As scum he’s more suggestive versus here he is affirmative. Dice just feels Town here. Loose but sharp at the same time. Nothing has raised my alarm yet. Krak is more involved than his last outing but like I said earlier I think that’s a matter of the type of game. His read on Cory yesterday had a ton of depth and just generally not a direction I’d expect a ~low volume player to push in as scum. His responses to Eldrick were sort of smug today as well. Definitely doesn’t seem afraid to ruffle feathers. Z could be a tier lower because of early game fluff but I’d say the paranoia is on par that I’d expect and I don’t think he’d be teamed with Eldrick atp.

 

Cory is admittedly more me fussing over how to approach him. I liked his posts more today than I did yesterday (the take on Penguins was good) and the Leelou vote is fine in a nutshell. Things that concern me are the slow start over the weekend, which has been explained to a point, but still uncharacteristic imo. I’ve been having trouble making a connection like I think we would be now as v/v and the fact I directly disagreed with some of his stances yesterday still bugs me. Kat has been putting forth more effort which I like. She’s historically not a D1 slamdunk type person so I am giving some leeway and after mulling over it a bit I think once we get outta this phase she’ll start to show more. She was one of the few stronger TRs I had in Ragnarok deeper into the game. The Pirate hasn’t done anything to bother me yet which may or may not be a good thing after Clov’s game but in general I don’t feel slimy when reading him like I did in Jurassic World. Could probably slot him lower but meh. Point is I’m not particularly worried about them right now.

 

Hallia I’m still waiting for more. I think she could be Town here but there’s not a ton of confidence in that read. I haven’t had an issue with any of her posts perse and I think her approach to Darthe irt voting Leelou was ~Townie. EP is just getting into the game and I’m interested in the dynamic with Penguins atm. I’d like more follow up on his other reads on me/Dice and Z/Penguins being t/s. Penguins seemed fine early on for asking questions and probing for info but as of late their focus is narrowed and I don’t really see what sort of resolution they hope to get from Darthe. I agree with Cory that they have a lot of wordy posts that don’t say a lot. I’m more interested in knowing how they’re regarding the roster than proving they were right in an argument. I’m looking at Marsh almost the opposite as Krak rn. I think him listing all of me/Darthe/Cory as TRs fits with a low volume player looking to blend in. None of their posts have particularly blown me away yet and I think Marsh is fairly obvious when he’s Town. There’s a bit of an anti-associative I’m mulling over currently that could make them Town, but I’m gonna keep that to myself and come back to it later if I need to.

 

NotBob looks opportunistic to me. His meta take on me is bunk too, which I think he would know as many times as we’ve played. I don’t believe anyone can realistically say that I hide ever in a game. Leelou has been unimpressive as a whole without even considering her presence. I’ve been suspicious of her before for being low volume early on in games, but the content she has produced was underwhelming and generally I don’t consider Leelou a had person to TR. Eldrick I have already talked about to some extent but I dislike how he is simultaneously pushing people for voting a wagon while maintaining no read on the wagon and linking people to the wagon. None of it lines up and reads more like a chainsaw defense. The line about Z being scum for not reading him correctly was also bad.

Penguin: Already voting here. I don't like how he tried to use the new player shield before reluctantly admitting to have played before. Nor do I like how he reacted to (rather mild) pressure with ATE. And there have been a few posts that I called out in my catching-up posts. 

Why did Dice's vote on you seem Towny? 

 

Also, I never used a new player shield. I had a joke in the sign up thread with BFG and Liz who asked me to play, and said pretty much instantly to AJ and again to Zander and elaborated more for Dice later when he asked. Like, it'd actually be stupid to pretend to be new while admitting that you're not.
