I feel extremely skeptical that almost all of people's POE are people who haven't played here before. Would be an interesting rand if that was the case.

Seems too easy, right?

I like it this way, we finish hazing when they die and carry on from there.

Much too easy.

Ted claimed Sailor Venus. That's inherently null - we know mafia have fake claims, so character claims mean literally nothing this game.

Sooh reacts in a way that expresses doubt/concern? Why? Well, probably because she's Sailor Venus. That was my initial take, and I was even more confident when Sooh essentially told me "Think about it!" when I asked her why she was bringing it up.

Okay, that means Ted lied. So what? Yeah, it's not pro-town, but is it scummy when we know mafia have safe claims? He's not going to forego a legitimate safe claim to make a legitimate attempt at character claiming. Ted might be town. He might be mafia. But his post meant nothing, and my expectation is that Sooh would have known that.

So I ask her WHY she's questioning it. Like, what's the point? She says "think about it"...which implies she believes it's significant. If she's mafia and has Sailor Venus as a fake claim, nobody else is going to know Ted is lying so bringing it up does nothing. If she's mafia and doesn't have it as a fake claim, she's not going to know whether he's telling the truth. If she's Sailor Venus (a character that almost certainly would be town), she's going to have a genuine reaction.

TL;DR - I think her reaction to his claim, though pointless in terms of HER ability to solve the game, is incredibly genuinely. And given it's predicated on her being town, that means she almost certainly is.

I know next to nothing about Sailor Moon, but there is another specific reason why I dislike this claim. I read a little bit about Sailor Moon yesterday after the claim happened, and found out that my character is sort of a main character? So I was thinking PR hunting.

So youre a PR. Noted.

Wait I just figured something out. Are the different heroines in Sailor Moon actually named after different planets?

Moon isn't a planet, silly

Speaking of, all the other moons have names. Know what our moons name is? Moon. We have Moon the Moon, or to abbreviate it...

"Damn it Moonmoon" is a phrase I say once per day on PerC.

I did notice her response to him being "you sure?" or something along those lines which of course lead me to think maybe he claimed her character.

With that, though, I didn't take his claim seriously because it was just a character and not an actual role. Sooh has been taking a lot of people seriously when they are being tongue in cheek (not a bad thing, means shes trying to read through people)

I am reading her townie, but it helps me read you and others when I know the reasoning behind why you're making the reads you are.

Thank you :)

As a rule, I try not to go overboard explaining my reasoning for reads when it's directly tied to another player's role.

Clov it's prob just that marsh is a wolf. That was a clean wolf post by him, but still a wolf post.

Wut. Are you teasing or did you really forget how to read me?

Yes?

So I perused a bit of scruffington's games on MU( a light game and a champs game) And the first few pages of a game on his homesite(battlestar galactica). From what I can tell random day 1 voting isnt a thing but scruffington was freely throwing his vote around as a way to apply pressure but with reason. He also doesnt list the reason in the same post he votes always. He'll either already be sussing the person(in bsg he was critical of someone then later voted) or he quoted a post of someone with a vote and later explained he didn't like the post

That reminds me. As I said earlier, it didn't read to me that he had a reason to vote me based on the posts before his (reason 1). He questioned that reason, implying there was one.

@Scruff why did you vote me?

you should all watch the 4 part dr dre/jimmy iovine documentary on HBO. Is great

That sounds time consuming..

Maybe tonight after I sleep.

Maybe.

Figuring Bop / Spades I think is going to be imperative. Feel like both halves are readable, just need to do my research

Iron - you were null on Sooh.  What do you think about my explanation?

I think it's solid, and it town spews her pretty hard. I just can't see any scum being subtle and bold enough to "soft CC" a character claim that way.

This lineup tho

i'm going into the fourth dimension of readmaking and from there Sooh's entrance on 1-2 and her very genuine excitement about the game's potential forms the shape of a promising start. will be informative to see if it stays consistent

I'm also super thankful Linz is IC because she's someone I've legitimately struggled reading in the few games I've played with her :P I have no experience with her wolfgame, pretty much every game I remember her being in, she was a villager

Probably would have reacted to it sooner if I hadn't been distracted by a) Darthe suddenly calling me scum and b) buying Magic cards online. I've got a U/R spells deck that just needs a few more cheap cards to be awesome.

I'll try my best to figure it out either way :P

Maybe it's just me, but I think the stakes would be higher in a champs game than a random game on a forum he might never visit again.

yeah, but you looked at a forum where he knows everyone and a champs game. Neither of those are very comparable to this game IMO.

If he's someone who's typical MO is some degree of working to figure people out through action, what I remember of him was certainly lacking of that. I'm not quite at his entrance yet on re-read, will give it a look with that in mind

That Scruff vote was awful and his reasoning too, but does Scum just come and draw that kind of negative attention to themselves?

It could happen. Who we talking bout?

Scruffs vote on Eld.

Does anyone have any questions for me?

Ive got someone here doing some minor repair so ill be in and out for the next little bit but I wont be away for long

Why's Darthe in your POE? He's Null for me.

@ Linz

@ Sooh

@ Eld

Reads?

Some. Seeing how things go for the next few hours.

I'm in tax class and it is soo dull

Gross. That might be worse than my Micro-econ class I'm in.

Cory always told when reading Darthe is the psychiatrist or the patient of its the former hes prolly Scum if the latter prolly Town.  Some of his early posts had the feel.  Also knowing how bad he is at reading me his early Town read on me legit sketched me out.  Also his response  to you about the Scruff thing and his response to Eld about it while voting him bugged me too.

Im not likelocked in on this.  Its just making me worried.

Is mrsclov even really playing?

She's cleared now so she can just sit and watch the D1 spam.

Or I can develop reads and stuff.

Too bad you're IC because I'd probably be reading you villager

Well, hopefully both Scruffington, Aquilla and Ted (and Cuth) will show up and give us some more content soon.

I'll repeat: You are not locked to your reads. If you think somebody has done a towny thing, even if it's just one small thing, it's better for you to say it so we have something to read you by. Likewise if you think somebody has done a scummy thing.

Pretty please?
