  1. Ok then The facts Perrin kills Bornhald Snr Perrin then decides to travel all the way to Tar Valon on a month-long journey by boat to apparently sit in an inn for 3 days. Approx 3 days after arriving in Tar Valon Perrin decides to go home for no other reason than he wants to. He decides this trip should be taken in the incredibly dangerous ways despite no apparent need for speed. Everything else is pure guess work. Your theories. Moiraine wanted him there. Well she seemed to actively want them separated once in Tar Valon so seems a bit of a push. He wanted to go with his friends. Again only 3 days after arriving he splits from them so a bit of a push especially when he could have got off the boat at Illian and continued by boat straight to the 2 rivers after spending weeks with them. He thought it would be quicker to boat to Tar Valon and then waygate from there. Extremely unlikely considering the locations of Falme, the 2 rivers and Tar Valon and also the proximity of the waygate to Falme and still does not explain the sudden need for speed. The whitecloaks had horses. Perrin was able to get travel on a ship I don't really see why he could not have got a horse instead. There would also have been numerous horses left by the Seachan and the dead whitecloaks. Maybe he had a tinder date with a warder in the tower barracks?(not yours) You can keep filling in the blanks with what I would consider poor options as much as you want, it does not change that on the pure facts his travel, the means of his travel and the reasons for his travel seem to make no sense. If you can provide some hard facts from the show I am willing to reevaluate my position until then I am not.
  2. Perhaps sailing into the ocean where the Seachan might be was a sub optimal choice. Yes people can make poor decisions writing off every mistake in the show as people are incompetent is not good storytelling. As I said you can continue making up implausible explanation after implausible explanation if you want or we could stop.
  3. Maybe Perrin could not get a horse, maybe. Why did he not take the Waygate from Falme then? Look you are going to continue to come up with implausible reasons on the why lets just stop.
  4. Not everything has to be spelled out but you can't also just ignore everything that does not make sense. It cannot be possible that travelling to Tar Valon and then waygating was faster as the whitecloaks from Falme beat them to the 2 rivers by a significant margin.
  5. Unhinged was a fairly reasonable reaction considering his father had just died. Also if that was his concern should he have not just returned to the 2 rivers directly from Falme. I mean he really had nothing to do in Tar Valon at all.
  6. But in this case Amazon is both production and distributor and does not have the IP rights locked down. I understand that a distributor if displeased with return would move to drop a show and thus allow the production to look for another landing spot. But when you are both production and distribution to lose control of the IP especially considering the size of this IP feels very short sighted.
  7. Quickest is not really valid as the danger of the ways outweighs usage without dire need. Avoiding the eyes is a bit strange as he is heading to a place they would definitely look for him after losing him.
  8. Why did Perrin need to use the ways?
  9. Did we get reports in the show that the two rivers was under attack?
  10. Oh I don't have any inside knowledge. I thought Buffy was not wanted anymore by the original studio. If the controlling studio wants out I can understand another studio jumping in and taking over it just feels wrong that decision is not in the control of the original studio.
  11. LOL he changed his name.
  12. I had not heard of those guys or groups before so know very little about them but from what I know about amazon and bezos I don't have any sympathy for that side of the desk either.
  13. Actors getting new contracts depending on show success I can understand, especially considering a lot of the actors started out as no names. I would have assumed that the studio would have included ratchet clauses that increased the return to the licensing partner depending on the shows viewing numbers but to lose control of actually being able to continue to the licensing partner feels reckless. Especially considering the length of the acquired material.
  14. It feels very strange to me that Amazon would have allowed production to begin without ensuring that they had the ability to control the series through to completion. I am not saying you are wrong but for Amazon to have allowed itself to fall into this position feels incredibly stupid.
  15. Would people not wonder why her fingers look like they are diseased? Not great for someone cleaning and cooking for you. I had assumed that it was not always visible.
  16. I think they will work out a deal to at least do a short season 4 that will have a rushed conclusion at the very least. Having an entirely unfinished series makes it very difficult to get any traction or returns on reruns and no matter what the series will be content on a streaming platform for years to come.
  17. The Wheel of Time's Taylor Napier takes us inside filming the Battle of the Two Rivers (Exclusive) One of the answers from an interview with Napier you would think he would be in a good position to have some inside knowledge. WiC: I'm so curious to see how the show navigates, the stuff that the readers know, may or may or may not be coming for Alanna and Maksim, we'll say. Obviously a lot of us are rooting for the show to get more seasons. If The Wheel of Time is renewed, what's an aspect of Maksim that you'd really like to explore more in the future? TN: You know, I got to do so much of it this season with the fighting. That was one of the things that I really wanted to explore. I think moving forward, I'd love to see kind of what we start in season 3 blossom a little bit more. Alanna is such a leader, and she's such a badass, and I want to see Maksim step into that more. Not that he's not kind of a badass, but it's sort of like a painful crawl to get him there. And so I'd like to see him just step up as much as possible going forward and be the number two she needs, or the general that she needs in her army.
  18. Just finished season 1 earlier today thought it was pretty good. Had a few problems with some stuff in the middle. Won't spoiler it though. Will be very interesting to see were they go with the second season.
  19. Thats very much how i see Mat he constantly thinks himself not the hero and not the person you should depend on yet he is always there every time.
  20. As to this point it is simply not true. I am not constantly pestering everyone. I reply to someone's post or someone replies to mine which leads to a back and forth. I only post things that I believe to be true. I am often posting in response to multiple people which maybe why the quantity has led you to incorrectly believe I am pestering or it could be the fact that you rarely agree with my points. I am more than open to being shown instances of me hounding people if you can show them as it is something I don't wish to do. Engaging in an argument that goes post for post between me and another individual does not qualify unless you are also accusing the other poster of the same as you are accusing me. The only times I can recall that I have pushed hard for a response on this forum is when people have accused me personally of things.
  21. Look shield was not specifically said in the posts but being able to protect oneself most certainly falls into the area being talked about and shielding was being talked about in the posts leading up to those posts. If you want to so incredibly narrow the parameters that's your choice. I will maintain that people were arguing that non green/red/black Ajahs were not trained in or had not practiced battle magic as part of their defence for the scene and thus comparing it to a newbie insta casting an ability that falls into this range is not unreasonable.
  22. The early books always felt to me like he was not 100% sure he was getting to continue on. After book 3 everything really smoothed out. Things I would change I would reduce the time spent on the start of Failes capture. I would have liked some more AOL flashbacks for the forsaken and just generally more forsaken build ups.
  23. Simply it is where the discussion began so I thought it an acceptable place to continue it. It feels to me that you are almost arguing that training at all seems to be a mistake as need seems to be remarkably effective method for channelers. I understand the point you raise in regards to getting locked into a certain method however usually the more extensively trained force ends up the victor rather than the one that responds in ignorance, desperation and need. Also in regards to this in the tower battle there were 3 greens sitters in the room especially trained for combat. You referenced Daise Congar's shield to my eye it was identical to the one that Alanna raised in response to the whitecloak ambush and broke down in the exact same manner with bolts breaking sections of the shield. It feels improbable that the instinctive shield would be identical to the trained tower channeler's shield. My issue with Liandrin's usage was the precision and the repetition. Could a desperate child searching for an escape reach out for that power, certainly yes, to wield it so finely and be able to repeat it, unlikely. As I said I bumped this thread because I believed that an incident occurred in the current episode that cast a question mark on the argument advanced in this episodes thread. My goal was to see if the current incident had caused anyone to reevaluate their argument, clearly for you it has not. Was it really required for you to attribute a negative connotation on my motives to end your response? A good day to you as well.
  24. All I want is to have an open discussion. I bumped this thread solely because I thought that it would be good to revisit the fact that a few people in discussions about the initial battle talked about the lack of training and practice being reasons why they could not fight or defend themselves. Since then I have been accused of goal post shifting bias and that show haters treat others with contempt if you don't blindly follow them, which is hilarious as I have been accused of homophobia being a bigot and a book cloak through my travels when I have never even remotely issued the same vitriol in return. And people think that I am the bully because I defend my arguments, LOL. I think I might take a bit of a break for now as i am quite upset by all this crap.
  25. Do you consider me one of the haters?
