  1. It was preachy and ordinary makes Domon out to be an idiot, thinking the only copy of the knowledge contained on the seal is worthless is amazingly dense especially to someone who is less likely to be in it for material gain. Also the original quote from the book was in reference to the game of houses not trading. Simply another attempt to link back to the books in a shallow way. Yes crashing the party is not believable also that they are just going to let guests start wandering off with bottles of wine especially when they are not known guests is not believable. Random noble coming up and giving Rand a nobles are evil lesson is also not believable. That whole scene has a very The Last Jedi feeling to it.
  2. The dialogue is all stilted its simply people delivering lines the only section ive seen so far that felt in any way natural are the scenes with Mat and Min. Too much lets talk about sex in some way then drop an easter egg for the book readers and on we go. The high lords scene from the next episode is a prime example of a bizarre conversation. No set up to make it believable then shoe horning the act of burning the invitations to flashback for the book readers. From my recollection the palanquin is set up in the middle of the army tent and it does not actually get moved around at all. That bizarre thing we got in the show was 20 feet high carrying multiple people and had been sent to a village that appeared to contain less than 40 people. It's moving speed would by slower than walking pace. Unless we got to see it brought in on a number of wagons and set up behind one of the couple of buildings in that flyspeck town it would have taken hours to arrive from any direction.
  3. The dialogue is terrible. WTF was the thing the Seachan got carried in on. Moving that thing any distance is simply impractical. Really have no idea how people without background book knowledge would have any clue what is going on. The show is just so incredibly disappointing.
  4. I am not saying you are wrong but she could just be being tricky if she removed the mention of Mat from the letter then read it to him she could just be referencing the letter as it is now. It would be remarkably clumsy for her to be caught in a lie so easily when not necessary. Also 12 letters delivered in a 5month period in a society that does not have any real postal service is a bit optimistic.
  5. Its the fact that being cut off from the source is such a terrible thing that impacts all the things after it happens. It's an instinctive desire from both sides from the horror of the loss that drives them apart.
  6. So are you telling me that the white tower the source of knowledge for almost all things power related in the current universe which has stood for thousands of years has no idea what happens when someone is cut off from the source.
  7. Because they are Aes Sedai and warders they know about what happens when they are cut off from the source.
  8. What about the fact we got a big exposition dump about severing to a group of people that would be aware of the consequences of severing. Must be especially galling to those that used the argument that you can't have an exposition dump to defend the warder episode. yet I am not seeing any references to it.
  9. Absolutely terrible episode. Acting and direction worse than b level. So we needed an episode to show the warder bond but in this epsiode we get a terrible exposition info dump about Aes Sedai being severed delivered to a group of people who would have knowledge of it. Garbage. Needless changes again. Nynaeve spending 5 months training with warders, alongside terrible training with the Aes Sedai. Strange meeting in the garden. Conducting Novice training in the kitchens. Fades having the ability to disappear mid fight is going to be problematic. Uno's acting is embarrassing. Perrin writing letters that could be intercepted telling people that the horn has been stolen by darkfriends. WTF Embarrassing scene between Allanna and Egwene with an Aes Sedai having a BFFs chat with a Novice about sex. Having to make trollocs misunderstood rather than evil? Theres so much that was terrible its hard to get all down. Truly feels like generic slop.
  10. First of the new clips that I really disliked. Fairly neutral about the others. Makes Nynaeve look like an obstinate child.
  11. Loial looks like the Burger King excellent marketing opportunity.
  12. I would have abandoned the show probably around mid season and certainly after episode 8 if I had not read the books.
  13. The suggestions mentioned above would be basically impossible to prosecute.
  14. Ahh maybe because 1 untrained unarmed 60kg woman is a match for a trolloc. Even aside from that what if they had seen the trolloc coming they could have reasonably killed it with arrows. Sending one is an absolute joke.
  15. does not explain why they only sent 1 trolloc. Still an armed blade master that cant take out 1 trolloc.
  16. It's not terrible I would have liked to have seen at least the central part look a bit more polished or reflective white.
  17. Probably the only thing I thought was okay about ep8. I liked the idea of using the vision to tempt him. And with the removal of all dream stuff that was in the first book that change was ok.
  18. I'm sorry buts that just rubbish. This tired excuse about limits on CGI and practical effects is nothing but deflection. They gave the greenlight to release the show and are responsible for the finished product and that is what they are being judged on. If the finished product that they released to the public looks like crap the buck stops with the production. You cannot explain away the inworld story with the practical shortcomings of the production department. It makes no sense that only 1 trolloc would have been sent to the al'thor farm. That fight in the show gives us nothing like the fight in the books. Tam kills multiple trollocs in the book fight in the show he is unable to kill one when he is only facing a 1vs1. I don't care about a badass moment. The trolloc was hunting Nynaeve so it's not exactly like a surprise attack, she was unarmed and untrained yet she kills the trolloc without taking an injury something a trained and armed blade master was unable to do. That is bad writing. 100% a change total rubbish to say it's not. She was able to track them yes but to actually get close enough to kill him is an entirely different thing. Nynaeve was hiding some distance from Moiraine and Lan not with a weapon at his throat. I'm not going to argue the whitecloak stuff it was just terrible. Having a group who believe that Aes Sedai are evil and servants of the Dark One recommend healing from an Aes Sedai is just obviously bad.
  19. Congrats this really has taken a long time. Hope it is awesome.
  20. I'm not going through them all but you dont think it is terrible writing that Tam a Sword wielding trained blade master is unable to kill a trolloc, but that Nynaeve a untrained and unarmed 60 kg woman can. Nynaeve is able to not only track Lan but get close enough to kill him if she chooses. Best of the best warriors in the world? Lan was perceived that way emotionally that way throughout almost the entire series. His small emotes like slight turns of the head or slight widening of the eyes are treated as large signs of surprise. Whitecloaks scene please. Valda who was standing very close to Bornhald has killed multiple Aes Sedai and you defend the recommendation of healing from them.
  21. So many. Perrin married then he kills his blacksmith wife. Mat is now a thief. Abell Cauthon a drunk and a womanizer, his wife a drunk. Egwene and Rand having sex. On the same day the Womans circle deems her a adult. Moiraine and Lan bathing together. Tam a blademaster can not kill 1 trolloc with aid of Rand. Why was only 1 trolloc sent to the al'thor farm Nynaeve able to kill a trolloc 1vs1 with no channeling or even having a weapon before stealing one from the trolloc Nynaeve able to sneak up on Lan. Track him maybe but too get close enough to kill him without him knowing, garbage. Moiraine announcing to the whole village she is aes sedai then spending most of the rest of the episodes as a wounded passenger. Emonds Field looks like a collection of squalid hovels. Shadar Logoth apparently a city with no gate. WTF Mordeth not encountered in Shadar Logoth Thom a thief Whitecloaks recommending Aes Sedai healing. Those are big issues from the first 3 episodes. Also Moiraine is a shadow of the character from the books gone is her drive and intelligence. Lan is no longer cold and hard he is just another character. The who is the Dragon mystery was pointless. Characters are woefully underdeveloped. Magic system and world building are almost nonexistent. Final episode is just terrible the entire battle scene is nothing short of embarrassing, even allowing for CGI covid issues. For me the entire first season's writing is basically on a CW DC level.
  22. I don't share her view that everything is going to be okay. Season 1 was poor especially from a writing POV and near unrecognizable from the source material. Now you tell us that the changes are going to be even greater in season 2. Will need to be a remarkable improvement in the writing quality to save the show.
  23. I will take the fact that production has said it's not Tuon. It was purely the fact that she was wearing a veil and that was a large part of Tuons early story to ponder the possibility. However the things like the look and the nails I would not use as evidence. The nails look like a prosthetic rather than natural nails that I think the books describe they are also extremely longer than I imagined I find it hard to imagine they would not effect Turak's sword handling if they are as long as that photo makes out. It would also be possible to have had them change Tuons appearance from the books considering how much other stuff has been changed. Unlikely but possible.
