S3E8 - He Who Comes With The Dawn
Mailman replied to A Memory Of Why's topic in Wheel of Time TV Show
If you are going to limit cheating to actual physical contact then maybe. But what he actually did is worse than anything short of actual physical in body cheating. And if you consider the nature of the dream it is so close as to hardly be a difference. -
I'm not really sure, honestly the only game I play consistently is WOW and it seems to me like they are basically promising to release what would amount to WOW and all its expansions in one go. I would assume that they would be angling for something slightly less team orientated than WOW. So something along the lines of dark souls gameplay that i have seen a bit of. Honestly the reviews would have to be insanely good for me to be likely to pick it up. WOW is my main game and then I sporadically play some Civ like games and the occasional tower defence

How else? Ummm with the power. Rand was lucid in the dream and remembered them perfectly on exit. I thought you were alleging that she was using the power on him. No he could not expel her but she convinced him to do the things he did by simply talking to him not through the power or through force. -

No she can enter his dream without his choice that does not show she has manipulated him while in the dream. Apart from with words. -

Lanfear uses her abilities to share a dream with Rand but he hardly appears to actively want her to leave and at no point do we get any indication that she is forcing him to do anything against his will within the dream. You can claim that she is manipulating him but at no point is that actually shown. -

Rand is aware that the dreams are more than just his imagination and that he is in fact interacting with the real Lanfear. -
I am no expert on the whole red eagle/iwot thing but what they are promising is insane and just impossible not only in terms of time frame but in overall initial release on any timeframe.

I am unsure some have said she was only accused others seem to believe she had been convicted -
Favourite Vimes book? For me it is Night Watch basically a perfect book and I also love sweeper so having them together is awesome. Thud is a close second. Sweeper and Moist Von Lipwig are in equal 2nd for me just ahead of Death.

I feel it will be hard to use examples comparing small isolated tribes and large civilizations as there are too many variables to account for. Religion is largely about power and control and I feel that a large % of their "teachings" in regards to sex is more concerned with this than STD's. Have they used STDs to further their goals and aims almost certainly but I doubt that it is the main reason.

He did have the forsaken taunting his dreams with visions of callandor and Moiraine trying to push and control him to take certain actions. Moiraines pushing of him certainly played some role in his decision to leave for Tear. I would not describe it as a murder rampage as such we get the scene where he kills the guards and the lady that wants to share his fire but we never find out for certain if they are DFs or not there was certainly a grey man present at the time. And he rants of other attacks and his dreams being constantly full of attacks. Also the thought of taking callandor would prove him either the Dragon or not for certain. The issue with Tear for me now is Rand has at least half the Aiel maybe behind him which is a lot different force than the sneaky one that was present in the books which means a reworking will be required if that sequence remains. -

Is that book or show about Eladia being specifically involved in Owens gentling as I don't remember her being specifically linked to it in either. -
I don't think this is necessarily true. For one you are being very generous to religion in not attributing it a large seat at the bigot table. I am far from an expert but Ancient Roman, Greek and Egyptian societies do not fit well in your definition either.

Honestly I am not sure. It may be my book view that is causing me to doubt this. Rand is far from his I must be as hard as Ceundillar character at this point in the TV show. Also the books being adapted support this view. IMO he is somewhere along the path of I don't want people trying to control and manipulate me path and for this version of his character to just insta forgive Moiraine for conspiring with Lanfear to isolate him and control him feels wrong. -

Well that not much arguing with that but we might as well not have the oath on that line of thinking. having them all be DF's could explain it but then you have basically handed the tower to the BA in almost totality. I just dont understand why have that scene at all with how it all played out. -

But her journey to that trust is a straight oath that he knows to be true and because of that oath and an extended time when she explicitly follows his commands and lead. Hardly the same as finding out he she was conspiring with Lanfear behind his back and had allowed Eggy to be mind terrorized and his friends to be mortally wounded in order to drive them away from him. -

The one thing that confuses me is the meaning of that scene where Elaidia is tricked then rescued and healed by Siuan now. -

Sorry but just saying they can is not a satisfactory explanation. But if the Aes Sedai in the room know that only a DF could execute her she has just given herself away to all loyal Aes Sedai. -

It is a clear difference from the oaths as its a dagger not the power used. I am referring to the BA hunters in the tower. It is definitely a Tar'angreal one of the sisters has to channel into the device (like a moulded seat) and has to watch what the visions are, it was also apparently the device used on thieves caught in the tower. All the other times i dont think we get a true description of what they do. -

It just does not fit to me. Would someone willing to side with that ruthless pragmatist still go and fulfill his Ji to a dead girl? They have started to show some of the madness stuff but it has been fairly low key till now. Maybe it's sudden onset. Like I said I just find it a bit abrupt. -

How is using a dagger to stab Alric in anyway a violation of the oaths. It's a dagger used and not the power and to the best of my knowledge we never find out who actually killed him. The method of torture is not really explained apart from the Ter'angreal that is used that seems to use your own nightmares against you. -

I know he gives reasons it's just I don't think I would leap to that level of trust with someone who had done the things she had. You could maybe start a conversation on a path to trust but to just bypass the mortal wounding of his lifelong best friends by her alliance with Lanfear feels a bit to far. -

My issue is that Moiraine was actively working with Lanfear and that led to his friends being mortally wounded which is far far worse than her manipulation of him during the books. Jumping from that to solid trust is a big step. -
@HeavyHalfMoonBlade You could have fixed your initial post which at very best is very poorly worded instead you have again doubled down on it. You have form on this front. I have made my position clear as apparently have you. I will not discuss it further.

Always one to issue the accusation and then attempt to hide from it. If you cannot see how the initial post does this seek help.
