Reading the Pattern did a good analysis of how books 2 and 3 are kind of the same and would be easier to combine.

Amys and Melaine will probably be the two we see the most, possibly Bear to show that you don't have to be a channeler to be a strong dreamwalker.

I don't think Cadsuane will be cast now because she disappears for five or six seasons.

@The Purple AjahI'm assuming you're correct about about Bode, I wonder if they'll make her more important in Saliday, i.e. give a novice perspective and maybe give her some aspects of Nicola.
As for Egwene's sisters, is that part somewhere else as I didn't think her sisters were ever named and never appeared? I remember something about a different prologue but that's about it.
I think perrin's characters depend largely on what exactly Leyla's relationship to him is and what her role is.

Who is he playing?

Now that I've actually seen pictures of them from a youtube video, Perrin and Lan especially look like how I imagined. Marcus should ask Marvel if he can borrow the super soldier formula. Nyneave is growing on me, especially the serious look but I need to see her in costume. Don't have an opinion on the others, need to see more but I hear good things about Mat.
-
Liandrin is basically a bumbling idiot and if Falme doesn't happen, her claim to fame would need to be changed. Point is, I don't think you hire Lady Mcbeth for Liandrin. It's possible but I don't you hiring a high calibre actress for only her.
-
I think they merged Liandrin and maybe Alviarin and Galina. The actress cast was apparently Lady Mcbeth opposite Sir Patrick Stewart and I don't think you cast someone who can hold her own against Captain Picard if she'll just be liandrin.
-
If they're not going to do anything more until a trailer, they should dump some more of the cast, maybe people we've already guessed. I'm wondering if one of the reasons they haven't given more cast is there's alot of smart people in the fandom who might be able to guess surprise elements.

Teaser would be great. I mean we had the guitar, Mat's voice and hands and thin Moraine, next logical step.

Too bad Sean Connery isn't alive, he'd make a great hero of the horn. After all, he was the greatest russian captain in all of cinema.
-
@HarldinI think you'll get your wish. As with Mat killing Couladin and probably a few others I'm forgetting, some scenes are just too important not to be shown. I just hope Sean Bean is the voice of Narg.

The Dark One told him not to and I like Aginor for Mr. Grinwell and the reason he didn't kill Rand was he couldn't reach the Eye without help. It could also be that the Grinwells are still themselves in S1 and are killed early in season 2 or at the very end of S1. I also think it more than likely that all of the Forsaken will be free for S2 and not just Lanfear.
-
Most think the Trakands and probably Elaida won't be in season one, though I'm confused because I thought Elayne had been cast. I went back and looked and yes, people thought one actress was Elayne but then nothing. I don't know what happened after that though.

Along with casting, there are also going to to be major changes, one being that the first three books weren't aimed at a far away ending which is why Ishamael won't die 3 times, etc. Another big change is will we get the AMOL ending or will we get some version of the one if RJ lived. So another turning of the wheel is a better way to think and that phrase isn't mine, I heard in a youtube video, who can't remember where he heard it.
-
Wouldn't they be too far though but that's a good thought. I still like the Forsaken theory better though because that why you don't have to invent a story for them, the roles just morph into Ishamael and Lanfear, the Gars or whoever.
-
Something because they realistically could've been Brandon and Harriet or Rafe and Sara, the book consultant, if the Grinwells were the same as the books.
-
Logain is also a relatively minor character that becomes a semi important sort of major character later on, if that makes sense. He really should get more book time than he actually does and frankly there are some sideplots we could do without to make room for him.
While watching youtube I heard something, think of series as a different turning of the wheel.

@Elessardon't forget, we're seeing for the most part stuff that can't be hidden and a tiny bit of promotion. You should probably wait for the trailer at the very least before deciding. Right now everyone is just stringing together hints into tapestries which may or may not be accurate.
Another thing about GOT, it crashed and burned in the end, partly because the source material wasn't and probably never will be finished. WOT is 14 books, you'll get 8-10 seasons max and WOT isn't perfect, especially the later books. My guess is if Ice and Fire had been finished some of the things you like in the early seasons would've been different.
-
@Elessar WOT and GOT are different and a big thing, I've only listened to Ice and Fire once so I could be wrong, but from what I remember, GOT doesn't spend nearly as much time as WOT in characters' heads. You also have to demonstrate how dangerous the Dragon is to an audience, hence Logain.

My guess is we'll get at least two seasons which will probably get us to the end of book 3.
