  1. @Jax BornhaldI think Mr. and Mrs. Grinwell will turn out to be Forsaken. I don't know if they'll be killed for their identities or whether they'll be Forsaken from the beginning. I don't see them casting actual actors for a glorified cameo at best. To me you either cast some huge for a cameo or you cast an extra. An extra probably costs less than an actor too.

  2. It's probably either the search after the battle of the shining walls, something to with Logain in Ghealdon or could it be a flashback to Owen, Thom's nephew. Showing him would help illustrate why Thom's helping boys mixed up with AS and it would also show madness. Doesn't Owen basically flatten his village at the end?

  3. I'm not the biggest fan of creating characters for the sole purpose of immediately killing them because of Star Trek Discovery. I was way more interested in the character they immediately killed in the premiere than I was in the one they centered the story around.

  4. Maybe Egeanin and Tylee will be merged, I forget if you mentioned that. I could see Egeanin, not be demoted to give us a window on that nobility, unless Tuon is a central character from season 2. I know you don't want to hear this and I like him too but I get the feeling Domon is cut or we won't meet him until he's a seanchan prisoner. How they handle the domination band, I don't know but I do bee thinkin' our Illianer won't be involved.

  5. That's what I mean, in the books, she's not that important and the bond doesn't even work very well and after Cadsuane arrives, she's shoved to the back even further. I just don't see audiences caring that much about an as is Alanna. After the bond snaps with Lan, I think audiences will appreciate the danger of killing someone bonded to Rand at a critical moment, I just think Elayne is a better choice because she's not a fighter if shielded, whereas Min and Avi are.

  6. I believe Nyn and Moraine used balefire at more or less the same time though Moraine actually knew what she was doing. Nyneave is far better than Egwene because Nyn was much better written whereas Egwene was just handed everything. Also, unlike Nyneave struggling with her block for 7 books E never has any PTSD or other issues related to her torture by the seanchan.

  7. I've started watching the WOT UP videos as we get closer to more content and am watching his Foresaken analysis and I agree with some. As cool as 13 would be, I think some have to be combined so audiences don't just yawn at the villains. Although he's blink and dead, I don't think Be'lal can be merged because I think you need to show Moraines awesomeness and not have him escape. I like his theory about Demandred but I don't know how many new sharan scenes they'll have time for, not to mention Taim.

He also has a theory I more or less agree with that Mrs. Grinwell is Mesaana. I think she's either her or Lanfear because I don't see why you cast anyone other than extras for someone who appears once, same with her father. Given the plot of Els in the books,  probably not fleshed out, I think Lanfear or Mesaana.

  8. I was watching something on WOT UP yesterday and Tylee was mentioned, now, if the show gets that far I could see that as she seems set up for it in KOD and then nothing. I don't know if it was a no notes problem or what.

I could possibly see Bode Cauthon getting more screen time, as a way to kind of pull Mat in two directions.

  9. It might be a good twist to use the bond like that but I think it would be better to capture Elayne, Avi or Min because they're already set up and audiences would be invested in them. Personally I'd go with Elayne but one of three. Alanna, unless they greatly expand her role, isn't around that much

    a. Why would audiences be invested in someone recurring so rarely

    b. You might not get anyone other than an extra to be a glorified extra

    c. Would Amazon want to pay someone that unimportant because if the show reaches that point, the stars will be worth more.

I'm not saying using the bond, now that you said that, isn't a good idea, I'm just wondering if Alanna's the best choice.

  10. Looking at another thread, I wonder if they'll merge Alanna and Cadsuane, basically have Alanna be involved with Logain's capture. Then she goes back to Alanna until after the battle of Emond's field. I wonder if they keep her bonding Rand because it does no good, isn't really important and she becomes a semi-unimportant background character after book 4.

I also wonder what they'll do with Cadsuane and Moiraine, provided, the story gets that far and Moiraine doesn't disappear for long. I realize the Greens are supposed to be the warriors but they never impressed me. You have a badass the audience knows and cares about, Moiraine but then Cads pops into existence. At this point, I think they either cut Cads completely or give her role with changes to Moiraine. This assumes that no AS, beyond Elayne, bonds Rand and Alanna disappears or dies.

  11. I think Lahman will come up but not right in the very beginning. Right now, fans are the only ones who know Lahman from Luke Skywalker but his name will be known by audiences eventually. In the beginning, you need impact scenes and I don't see a beginning one. Now we could get a flashback of teenage Moiraine using the stone to listen to servants or something and then cut to adult Moiraine with it in her hair.

@Elder_HamanHadn't they already killed Laman in Caihrein?

  12. I like your proposed Tigraine scene but I think the connection between a baby and dragonmount, at least until Callandor will depend on how mysterious the showrunners want it.

The other scene won't work because Moiraine ran away to prevent being Queen and I don't think the Cairheinen would make a channeler queen. What is possible is we have a flashback of Moiraine getting caught, with no one else around, the Aes Sedai tells her that with training, she could be quite strong.

  13. I just can't wait until Rand seizes Saidar, of the WOT typos, that one has be my favorite.

Also as I thought, I'm going to have to get used to hearing other voices because for over 10 years I've been hearing only Michael and Kate on the audiobooks.

As to who she's talking too, my guess it's either the Battle at the Eye, a new scene or the audio and video are from two different scenes.

  14. Unless they're hiding Trakand casting which they could be, I don't think the throne room scene is there, especially if they want to keep non-reading guessing who the Dragon. I originally wanted it there too but I've been convinced that it's better not there. I also don't think Morgase will be around much past Valda. The show will already have enough characters and she's animportant, as far as doing things, character. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure most of Morgase's arc will have to live in imagination.
