    Question:

Assassins in the Palace is normally a 7-9 player game (I think 7 is the most balanced, imo) which means it will go fast.  There are a few options, based on what you guys want.

    1.  I run AitP with 7-8 players and the game will go pretty fast

    2.  I could run one of my old bastard mod games.  Machine of Souls or my X-Men Apocalypse game, perhaps.

    3.  I could create a new bastard game, but it is very likely that it won't be as good as the above 2 bastard games.

    Whatcha think?

I'd prefer AitP since I haven't played that before like I said.

Don't think bastard games work if people know the setup? I think both of those games are broken if people know?

True, but only players and those who read the games know the setup....and the X-Men one was 2-3 years ago, while MoS was 1-2 years ago.  Both threads are gone (hidden by me) and are therefore not available to check.  Dunno, just a thought.  You think I should just let them sleep?  I admit I'm particularly fond of the Machine.....

IIRC I didn't play in either so it'd be new to me at least.

If there's enough interest in Assassins you could run multiple games simultaneously? :)

Actually, I could do that as well.  If I get enough signups, I'll run 2 instances of the game one after the other.  It'll still end up being less than 1 normal Advanced game, so whoever is behind me in the queue will still have their game start pretty soon.

I'm in favor of this option.

AITP is barely "mafia" in the sense of informed majority/minority and more of just a fun little reads/logic game

If we get interest for it I'd love to run those regularly the way POG runs turbos or etc. since the games can run pretty quick, even we adapted to longer day phases so people with different working hours could play

That's be cool. We could also bring back some of those old hyper style games people used to play around here that had no day/night cycle.

  2. For example I don't believe it's expected that a doctor be informed if their action failed. That is usually up to the discretion of the mod and wouldn't be bastard either way.

It would be bastard to refuse to tell the mafia team whether or not they could trust each other. I believe mafia have a reasonable expectation of trust unless indicated otherwise prior to the start of the game.

I just want to tease a bit. In my upcoming game, Jack will be co-modding and it will be like nothing you've seen before. It's either going to be epic or a train wreck. lol

I'm intrigued. You're reminding me of Kat's game where everyone could become the SK.

I love wacky things like that even if they stray away from mafia a bit.

    Looking forward to it.

Just watched The Wolf of Wall Street.

    Great movie.

    That it was!

But holy shit was it long!

Yeah. I started at like 2:30 AM and didn't finish until like 7AM.

Granted there were a few pauses inbetween.

Never did I have a desire to do cocaine.  Then I watched Wolf of Wall Street.

Right? Now I want to be an evil stock broker and ste- errr invest people's money.
  5. Oh I watched the newest Wolverine movie a couple weeks ago.

I know that's not technically a "I just watched..." but I just wanted to say it was pretty terrible.

Honestly it reminds me of an episode of The Walking Dead.

Great opening, great ending. The middle is worthless at best.

  6. I actually watched this a couple days ago but didn't get to post about it.

    The Way Way Back

It was funnier than I thought it would be.

A bit more emotionally involved than I thought it would be.

But it hit just the right amount of heartwarming.

I really enjoyed the entire movie and highly recommend watching it with a family if you do "movie nights" or whatever.
