Is there anything in Ironeyes posts that you can point out as being disingenuous? Keeping in mind he's a returning player, why do you read his posts as being fluff for confusion rather than a player trying to get back into the game? Feel like the Believer case is weak too. The list isn't bad in isolation but the reasons for pegging your scum targets aren't clicking with me.

3. Kat-Slight Town-Decent reads list. Not enough content to be a firm read. 

 

4. Dice-Slight scum-content consists of jumping on Shad's AtE. Easy to do as scum, though not an unreasonable town move. 

5. WiFi-Scum-Her AtE is awful. Explained more below. 

6. Hallia-Town-As per character claim.

9. Zander/Cass-Town-Gut from Cass. But I'm always happy with a Zander lynch.

Okay, so the difference between Shad's AtE and WiFi's is that Shad's reads as frustrated, where as WiFi reads as "woe is me, feel bad for me". 

 

The former isn't hard to form as scum, but you don't see the latter on a townie that has no pressure. It's most commonly seen (imo) on a townie who's getting lynched and has no idea how to prove their town, or on a mafioso with a guilty conscience.

Going to take a lot more than that to have me really trusting she's a villager, but I thought it merited a positive lean.

 

 

 

So actually, I don't know if I was right when i said that he was really mod influenced from last game.  I saw a ton of references to past games and meta in his ISO, and I do mean a ton, but most of it didn't seem to clearly point to this past game outside of the above two which makes some sense to me.

 

Tbh, the ISO left me a bit less comfortable with you Shad.  You reference so many other games and back up so much of what you say that it almost appeared as if you felt the need to cover your every step.  I still have you as slight town I think, but only just so.  

 

Weak imo and I'm not sure I'm following. I just iso'd him myself and didn't really come back with much to point to him being scum. I feel better about him. The majority of his posts seem well-placed and reasonable and backed up enough. I'm sure that reading it in ISO has screwed with my perception of his posts because I remember them being a bit underhanded but rereading them in ISO they seem more genuine and his progression has been steady. I'd slot him into a town read at this point in the Day. 

 

 

 

 

 

I want to know what Shad's current read list is

Zander and Cass are pretty damn villagery, though I don't buy that Zander's as suspicious of me as he's been claiming lately. That or he's just learned to give me a little more space. Either way not lynching there probably ever.

 

Wifi can be a solid town read at this point.

 

Need to chew on Darthe a bit more yet but I'm continuing to hedge villa. I don't think I have a great head for what he did to fool everyone last game, and that's holding me back a bit.

 

Nolder's approach to me is more likely to come from his town game in my experience.

 

Not impressed with Hellian so far.

 

Terrified to even try to read you.

 

Don't really have a baseline with Iron.

 

A lot of people haven't shown back up again since early in the game.

 

A lot of people haven't really expressed many reads.

 

These things need to happen before I'm going to have a much better grasp on things.

 

I'm with you irt Darthe. I've got to go and reread that game but tbh it seems like his game here has been similar. Maybe less assertive but his posts in Metal mafia were all interpreted as town after that spat with Cory. I'll do it tomorrow tho it's late here.

Responses to some of your read explanations: 

 

I disagree with a lot of them

 

5- How was wifi crying "woe is me?" Yes she is certainly prone to posting in all caps and colors to display her feelings, but I didn't see a blow-up of nearly the proportions of Shad's. 

6- So we clear people solely based on character claims now? -_- If it makes you feel better I'm Perrin. Doesn't make a difference. The scum all got fake claims and we can't judge people's claims based on how central they are to the books--I modded a game once and reserved one major character as a fake claim in order to discourage people from doing just that. 

9- You think they're town but would be happy to lynch them anyway. -_-  -_- 

11- I know there's more on Hellian to go on than gut. He's got half the thread FoSing him by now. 

13- Is my reads list the only post of mine you read? I've posted plenty of stuff to comment on that isn't fluff. And forgive me for referencing DC since it's the only meta I have to go on. Only a few people are left from my early mafia days and I don't remember them well enough to use that meta.

We're allowed to unvote in this game, right? The way I read the rules makes it seem like it's allowed, but not necessary. And joke votes shouldn't stay on someone for more than one vote count cause that's just dumb.

Shad's explanation/rationalisation makes sense to me and the way he puts it I can understand the Iron reaction to be Town. Several posts bug me here on possible motive/tone combination and fluff though. I'm swinging with no baseline.

He really only mentions like me and Shad and i guess indirectly Hallia.

 

Only 1 2 reads- Me and Cass as Scum. *And Shad as Town .

 

Now I get that you could poss be a villager overwhelmed by the size and and pace (thats what she said) of the game.

 

But at least in my mind, a player with some experience comes to a new site...and pops only 1 Scum read and rides that read all game? 

 

I have trouble thinking that a new player has that kind of confidence with it.

 

And not only that mentions having no Meta and being a Meta player yet when multiple players in the game explain to him this is normal, it dont change anything.

 

I dont see how this comes from a Town!PoV but Im all ears for an explanation.

I was ISO'ing each player in turn. I did Darthe first, then JS, then Hellian if I remember right. After I ISO'd him I voted him.

 

I was town in Shad's game. Hmm, I've noticed that me and Darthe seem to have that dynamic and I think we generally have similar thought processes so sometimes I find it hard to scum read him cause I find myself thinking something similar. With him I've gotta look more at the bigger picture rather than individual posts so it'll be hard for me to get a strong read on him til later on I think.

 

 

My read is actually very similar to before. Surprised with that myself since my gut was feeling off about Ironeyes but my ISO changed my mind.

When WiFi subbed into Shad's game her posts legit seemed as "town" as they were in her other games to me. I'll refresh but I've got a slight scum lean on her since she went so far as to question sentence wording and usage of the word "really". Not worth pursuing today in any case.

 

I think I could see JS and Believer being w/w together. They've had some sketch interactions that I could totally see as distancing or set up for later. Not a fan of either and wouldn't be surprised if they were talking strategy over QT.

I'm not sure in this game. Mine don't seem to do with each other at all. Could be that I'm just missing the connection cause it's been so long since I read the books. 

 

Also I agree that char/role claiming isn't gonna do much.

Wifi: The last game I played with Wifi was Demon's cove, where she was town and acted just like she has in this game. 

Nolder: I alluded to this in my last post but I think Nol is playing pro-town. 

Tiinker: Gut read. Not much else to back this up. 

Darthe: Seems pro-town but I'm not sure of this read. 

Dice: Where the heck is this guy? I didn't remember he was playing until I re-checked the OP. 

Pral: Not happy with how this guy peaced out after posting twice, but then again he did something similar in Demon's cove and was town. 

Kat: Nothing's caught my attention so far. 

Hellian: I debated putting him in the scum category but for the sake of him being new here I'll reserve a real read for later. 

Believer: I dunno. 

Hallia: Not too sure about this read, but she made a big deal out of a series of jokes in the beginning of day one and it seemed strange that she wouldn't notice that wasn't serious. 

Shad: As stated above, looked defensive under pressure. 

John Snow: Pops in, votes me for lame/unexplained reasons, disappears. Pingy for sure, and like I said before this reminds me of Scum!Clovdyx in the beginning of Demons Cove. He directed all of the attention toward me right from the start and not only gained towncred for it, but was able to keep the heat off of his lurky teammates. They won that game in part because of his calculated risk there. 

 

Also, in rereading this, the difference between a null and full scum read is a vote before I've got life to deal with? (See Pral vs JS)

I was ISO'ing each player in turn. I did Darthe first, then JS, then Hellian if I remember right. After I ISO'd him I voted him.

 

I was town in Shad's game. Hmm, I've noticed that me and Darthe seem to have that dynamic and I think we generally have similar thought processes so sometimes I find it hard to scum read him cause I find myself thinking something similar. With him I've gotta look more at the bigger picture rather than individual posts so it'll be hard for me to get a strong read on him til later on I think.

 

 

 

My read is actually very similar to before. Surprised with that myself since my gut was feeling off about Ironeyes but my ISO changed my mind.

When WiFi subbed into Shad's game her posts legit seemed as "town" as they were in her other games to me. I'll refresh but I've got a slight scum lean on her since she went so far as to question sentence wording and usage of the word "really". Not worth pursuing today in any case.

 

I think I could see JS and Believer being w/w together. They've had some sketch interactions that I could totally see as distancing or set up for later. Not a fan of either and wouldn't be surprised if they were talking strategy over QT.

 

 

Did you read Darhte correctly in that game?

I got lynched D1 because haters. I was reading him as town early but tbf everyone was reading him as town and that was mainly because of his interaction with Cory and Nyn. If you cut that out though his D1 here and D1 in Shad's game are similar I think, however I don't think he would've played as he did in Shad's game if people weren't town reading him so strong early on. 

 

Read on Hellian isn't really there. Hasn't really given me anything to think about.

You see my concern here is less about Darthe and more about you.

 

Dude just duped you hardcore and you just walk in and Town read him off the bat.

 

Like remember what I said about what I was gonna do about you duping me.  I gave you some time and space to work to give me a chance to kinda see from afar.

 

Unless Im missing the obv which it dont feel like I am and not sure it makes a ton of sense with the setup, leads me to draw only 3 conclusions.
