Alright I'm back and recharged. We have 100 pages to go through. We've still got AJ and Regy and Clov and we have time to flip this around and make it right.

The question I want to answer: is there ANY possibility that Sili is a wolf? I want to figure that out first

Posted

His vote on BFG is important to that transition, Regy.

Did seph vote for BFG? I have to go back and look

Yes, he was third on her wagon before you voted iirc.

Actually on second thought that's sort of bold for a bus vote if they're w/w since at the time I think she was tied with some other wagons. Would need to reread the sequence but before I voted Zalanna I think the lynch was easily going to be BFG

Sorry I blew it :(

Hallia you are a sweetheart and thanks for being you always

But right now I really need to be able to clear you 100% by the end of d2. Just be yourself and be around when you can and I know you can do it

Found it

I am leaving for a bit, but ill chck back in. we need to get some wagons going so vote analysis can be a bit easier.
[v] bfg [/v]

He was actually fourth on the wagon, after me, putting BFG in the lead where she stayed until the later switch

Have to think about what this means

Posted

If BFG is a wolf against me she ~always encourages her bros to bus her.

Mmmm as the fourth vote then that would line up

And both stuck around for the end phase to switch if another possibility opened up

Posted

Would have been really ballsy for Seph to defend Kat so quickly during her second thread entry

Perhaps not

It's definitely not something I'd feel comfortable with assuming and working from as a theory of the game

But I'd start with BFG and see where that goes

@Cory

Beyond that I think you've looked good today, so I think you're tabled for me.

Seph's last couple of posts are weird and I don't really know what to make of them. I don't see the reason for making such long in Corey's defense when I think a lot of the potential there has already dissipated at Cory's own doing.

I don't wanna touch Clov today. I said last night I wasn't gonna tinfoil and I'm gonna stick with that until I have more concrete info to work with than paranoia.

Wildfire's posts mean nothing to me but I echo the sentiment that it's an extremely lazy lynch atp

Kat would probably be an emergency valve lynch but I'm putting zero weight behind that. I know I said I'd give her time to bud, but the more she talks about needing time to bud the less patient I find myself. I relate it sort of like I would with Cass, where one of her tells is to continually say that she isn't current and doesn't want to engage until current and around and around it goes.

Hallia I still have as town if somewhat lighter than the others. I reserve the right to recant this later if I think it's necessary.

I don't actually know. Feels like because you enjoy getting the occasional rise out of me and then criticize me for overreacting, but I know that's probably not your real intention.

Let's try to communicate better. What do you need from me?

Posted

Like let's be real: I have the "status" I do as a mafia player because I shake the right people's hands and I'm pretty decent at making reads when I am correctly utilizing my brain.

Not because I the most reasonable person or the calmest person or the best arguer. Those things are not my natural skills and I'm clumsy with them more than occasionally.

I will try my best to work this game out.

Posted

Okay, I got caught up to the point where I came in leaving work.  I'm not going to bother reading the past few pages for the stuff I've missed, because I'm 90% sure it's just going to make me rage and I doubt it's anything game solving.

clov why do i keep thinking your mafia!!

I have no idea.  The big reason you gave me earlier was because you and I didn't see eye to eye on a lot of things.  I pointed out that most of the people I had expressed feeling good about were people reasonably high on your reads list.

AFAICT you have yet to answer my question about what exactly we disagreed on.

[v]Darthe[/v]

BFG isn't going to be the lynch today. Without having read the page four pages, not super in love with a Darthe lynch, but better than her and marginally better than Cory.

Clov do I need to say it?

I don't know what "it" is, but I'd love to hear it.

Seph who you gonna vote today boo?

honestly I want to vote clov. This game just feels like the mafia karts game as i mentioned earlier. Clov is engaging in numerous convo's /arguments but I don't think he has really taken the lead in anything. He seems to jump in and dictate others actions for them.
you for example. HE should be one of the few who can read you well. early on he casts suspicion after someone else mentions your off but he never commits to it.
Look where he has you right now when your a lynch candidate. slightly above 3 or 4 others he would want to lynch. so if he needs to swing his vote on you it won't look as bad.
I feel like he is just avoiding making a firm decision on that subject.

I had my problems with him early game, and when I jumped back into the thread he had my head spinning and lost. Last time this happened was mafia karts... and I swore to never re evaluate until a flip so I am going to just stick with my guns here.

I want to re read clov to make sure I am remembering all this right. but he would be a top lynch for me. as that wont ever happen wildfire/bfg/aj/zalanna these are my lowest 4 atm i think

This is not something anybody that's actually paid attention to what I've said this game should basically ever think, unless he somehow takes exception to my reads evolving as new things happen.

I tend to associate a more aggressive Sili with town, but very mild

I don't like the phrasing here either but I'm not sure if it means something

I feel like a villager says "Sili's aggression level is villagery" or w/e

And BFG saying that Sili seeming villagery for being aggressive is fine

But the fact that it's phrased as "I tend to associate..." feels more like she's saying she feels bound to read Sili villagery as per what she's supposed to think than it being her actual belief

Does that make any sense?

Just reading through BFG

I think this is a slightly incorrect interpretation of what she's saying here.  In context, it reads very much like a reply as to WHY she feels he's probably town (which she had already established), since Alanna had just said she hasn't gotten anything from his tone one way or another.

Trying to frame this post as the read, rather than reasoning, doesn't seem like a genuine attempt at figuring out what she's thinking.

fyi for people voting cory. I feel like he is more assertive as a wolf, he likes to lead the thread, or control the flow at all times, and like he said protect his team. A good example of this in 9-5 on here.
as a villager he is more often than not to observe before doing anything. I have read prolly 15 cory games, or as many as i could find and the only time I remember him trying something different he was town. and that expands to about 2 games I remember. HIs tone isn't bad this game, though it never is but he is more laid back (that is referring to him not being assertive/aggressive not the ate)
I could be a little biased here because I always wanted to t/t with him but I am trusting my gut and I think we should go a different way.

This very well may be the worst take on somebody's meta I have ever seen.  Cory is equally likely, if not more likely, to lead as town than mafia.  Him trying to take over the thread shouldn't make you feel bad.

Furthermore, if you do believe that, I don't understand how you can be nearly as comfortable as you claim to be IRT Cory, since I don't think anybody can make an argument he hasn't been in control or leading (after the first day of the game, anyway).

How does this come down to me 'trying to outplay you'?

Because I assume - and perhaps wrongfully - that you haven't basically roadmapped your entire thought process on how to formulate reads against Cory/other strong, similarly metaed players to the majority of people.  That means people aren't necessarily going to read your take and recognize that's EXACTLY how you think.

Contrast that to me, who you've had the conversation with on more than one occasion.  I'm not going to pretend to be so inside your head that I know what's a genuine thought or not, but I'd like to think I have a pretty good idea how you approach things...and I think you would agree to that.

When I read the post, it just seemed completely honest because it's basically what you've told me.  Not a word for word copy, but at least a very nice paraphrase.  One that might not sway others to townreading you, but it would do one hell of a number on me.  And that's really only significant if you were concerned with how I, specifically, read you - and getting me to townread you.

Okay...now that I have more time, though I am still not fully read through (i've had a lot of interruptions today):

1. Sili Quirrels: town - he's not as aggressive as he was the last time we played together and he was mafia then.  Also he has been itt more than in the other game, answering questions and making statements.

2. Wildfire Sedai (PrincessBFlea): town - tis me, I know I'm town.

3. Zalanna: town - hasn't been posting crazy amounts in thread (z) , they both have been answering questions afaict from what i have read so far

4. Andrej: town - has been asking questions and answering them when asked

5. Hallia: town/mafia as I was going to give a reason for her being town, it occured to me that she might just be on the edge of being mafia....low post count and not that much investigating going on.

6. Katiora: town/mafia - Kat was mafia in the last 2 games I was in with her, only 2 games to be exact.  She has posted more here than she did then atp in game.  However she "always" seems to get into a "ruckus" with someone during the game play, coincidence??

7. Cory: town/mafia - town because he takes the time to quote things and give explanations, mafia because of all the "ruckus" that was happening around him.

8. Clovdyx : mafia - am going to wait till after supper to do this one cause I can't remember off the top of my head why.

9. BFG: mafia -  am going to wait till after supper to do this one cause I can't remember off the top of my head why.

10. Darthe: town/mafia - town because he is proactive in responding to posts about his alignment and asking/answering questions. Mafia because of low posts...when I was in HIS game he thanked me for being active but he's not active here...it just doesn't add up

11. Regy Rusty: town - asked/ answered questions in a good manner

12. Sirren: town - Kept her cool when she felt hurt and continued playing the game.  Asks good questions and answers them.

13. Seph: town/mafia - I know I originally had him as town but then been thinking on it and he hasn't posted that much so thinking might be mafia "Lurking?" Just a thought....other than that though town for questions/answers.

Why, oh why, did you all not scrutinize this?  I can understand not necessarily lynching there for the sake of not being complete tools, but when I caught up, it seemed like Hallia, Regy, and Sirren were the only ones this stood out to.  That's where Hallia's amazing post comes in.

Even if untrue I feel like the part about Hallia low posting could still come from town not fully up on the thread.

It's really hard to read late start players on D1 I feel

But if not caught up, still no! Early game I was even more prevelant!

Pretty sure Wildfire said she was only up through page 5X or 60 at this point.  I get not being caught up can skew things, but as Hallia suggested, Wildfire not being caught up shouldn't hurt her perception's of Hallia.  It should help it.  Cory made reference to Hallia dropping a bit for inactivity sometime yesterday which bothered me a little, because I thought Hallia had been active enough throughout the entire day, but I would say that noting a slight dropoff is fair - and that seems to have continued into today.

But none of that really applies to Wildfire, who was more familiar with the older posts than the new ones.

The Regy/Sirren thing has already been discussed so I won't get too crazy into beating a dead horse, but if she had seen the claim as she later suggested, why not just write "Claimed mason" or "Confirmed town"?

BFG can you give any kind of opinion on Clov? Just based on one read I know, but I want to know what you think.

Chris owned me pretty badly the last game we played, so I'm back to null reading him till eternity.

Gun to head town. Last couple of games he's been mafia he's been more assertive (not sure that's the word I'm looking for) with his vote and when I looked back, I didn't believe his pushes regardless of the fact I quickly dropped the read. Was hoping I could read him through similar methods this game, and I don't know what to make of the fact that he hasn't pushed anyone yet, but I think it's more likely from town him since he wouldn't need to try to control the lynch.

....Did I play a different 90's Music than other people?  Because for somebody who didn't "believe my pushes", I'm pretty sure she was on Lenlo most of D1 with me and I know she was pushing Dice with me on D2.

I also find it really, really unlikely she thinks it's more likely I haven't pushed anyone as town than mafia, given that I'm pretty sure one of her big reasons for suspecting me when following along in Mafia Karts was the disconnect between say and do (e.g., my arguments looked okay, but did they go anywhere?)

If this was the only post I've seen from her this game, I would kill her on the spot.  Had I been around, it might have actually made me vote her, ironically.

If you're getting upset because someone is picking at you? I would. I seem to recall threatening to find you irl in this thread already and hug you.

oh, lol, i thought you were joking.
Are you in the Sandy Eggo area?

Its def not to rile you. Emotion on theead annoys me, why would I want to cultivate it?

I get better reads when im involved, and I get a better understanding of things by really deeply digging into them. I find that people suck at this game when theyre stressed and when they dont have time to think.

All I want is a read on you that I can trust. Its all im after, and im a paranoid aggressive guy who is trying to solve this game in a way thats unnatural to him.

So far I cant trust my read on you. I respond by taking the opportunity (see: vulnerability) to dig more.
