You prolly wont. Unlike some people here, I do my damnest not to be a hypocrite. It's a hit and miss sometimes, but I at least try.

 

 

FTR. As scum, telling someone in the game their reads are terrible is perfectly fine because the point is to discredit their own belief in it or to discredit their reads in the eyes of others. As town it's also perfectly fine because at the end of the day? It's an opinion. You don't know for a fact they're actually bad. Maybe your OWN reads are terrible. If you were right, then you were just giving an opinion and happening to be right. And if you're wrong?  lolyou. Your own reads were terrib. Anyone taking this personally is misguided.

 

People getting their panties in a twist over being told that their reads are terrible in the game are just letting their own insecurities get the best of them. And anyone enforcing a rule not to allow their players to say such a thing in the game is being unfair to the players by implementing a BS rule that doesn't allow the players to either articulate their opinion in a way that is NOT offensive, really. And handicapping scum's play in discrediting townies.

Yes, Tina, I'm talking about your game's rule. But this applies to basically any mod that would expect their players to follow this rule. I realize that the mod decides and I respect that (ie I wouldn't sign up and defy your rule)... but I'm just letting you know I think it's a ridiculous rule that gets in the way of gameplay.

Tina's had that rule in I think every game she's ran and they are pretty much solely for her games

Tina writes "Be Nice" games, that's what she has always done AFAICT, no need to start firing missiles at everything you see

That rule is copy and pasted from her general rule list. It was in Last Battle and Be Nice as well.

It's basically a "no personal attacks, don't call people morons" rule. It says literally nothing about saying "Your reads are bad / I don't like your reads". Both of those games ran fine.

we're all guilty of getting heated from time to time (it's a heated game) but really nothing in Tina's rule isn't basically already in the T&C of the website.

Calling people derp and telling them they're having the worst game... ie that either their reads suck or that they're just playing badly is all the same thing in my book. I'll concede to straight out calling someone stupid being not okay. But that's about it.

I think Tina chose "this is the worse they have ever played" because it signifies someone taking an extreme in terms of being vitriolic. IE "you can disagree with people's reads and tell them you're not happy with their play, but don't go overboard to the point where you are brutalizing people for not seeing things as you do".

 

Which I think is fine; there's always going to be some general disagreement in games, but Tina's simply saying she will enforce the rule while most mods generally let small personal snipes go if they don't get crazy.

 

That's how I saw it at least and how I've seen it carried out speccing games Tina has ran.

That is insanely impressive Nyn. FTR I didn't suspect Lily until D2. I didn't pick up on her D1 like you did. D2 I only did cuz she was pushing BG so strongly. But I still had my doubts. She could have just as easily had a scum lean on him. When she asked me my opinion on him, I responded like I would to any townie.

Yeah, I wrote off the Lily questions about Cop on D1 read as just her not understanding the intention of the post. Blah. As soon as she voted me, it was super duper obvious she was cop. I had to convince Eld over and over that was true. My whole plan came unraveled as I just tried to stay calm, distance myself HARD from Thane and hopefully Eld and discredit the three musketeers as much as possible and NK the most town of the 3,Nyn. We thought Zander was trying to draw a NK with has soft claim, probably Doc. Seemed logical.

Fwiw, we didn't kill Turin 1 cause he was my kryptonite as much as he'd legit spotted a flub linking Thane and Eld.

My only regret is not stopping when there wasn't a kill. I noticed it, but it didn't click, and I still went with my plan.
