I just don't like that he [Eldrick] made a joke vote then got squeamish about it after the fact because he didn't realize he was adding a third vote (we're only 5? pages in, I don't see why he couldn't look ahead to see a VC anyways). Felt like a joke vote, whatever. I took it as a joke, and so was Verbals original post.

 

I didn't know he already had a train. While listing everyone as town doesn't sit well for me, it's not worth lynching over.

This was 12 minutes later. I'm assuming that it was once he was caught up on the thread. It's this underlined part that is my problem. He's over-explaining himself and backtracking. So was the vote on Verbal a joke or not? Why even say that "listing everyone as town doesn't sit well"? I think I would be less bothered if he had just said he didn't know there was a train (that's a separate annoyance).

 

I think it's hilarious that my actions are getting pressure. My vote was not a serious one. When I continued reading, and found out others had voted him, I unvoted.

 

Laine voted me before I had even posted, and now she's just looking for a reason to keep it there.

 

Darthe says he N0 viewed me villager, and is now voting me. Nice consistency.

Ok, so this early in the game, it is mostly a jokey/everything is silly stage, therefore I could understand Eldrick posting and responding to something without reading all of the way. Not something I'd recommend (and after my last game, I of all people should know) but it's understandable this early, and I feel like Alanna/AJ/Laine is a little overbearing in her response (posy 78). Sooh's notice of that felt natural enough to me, and rung to me similar to how I've seen Sooh respond as town in the past. Yates likes this but NotBob doesn't. Out of all of that, the main thing that pings slightly is Laine's post for me. Everyone else just seems to have various opinions that don't necessarily agree. I'll have to continue to see how reactions go. 

 

Something about Shad's post is sticks out to me, but I can't put my finger on what it is. I like the responses given to the various topics.

Lol how could you say my post 78 (quoted below) was overbearing after your actions in Middle Earth where you flipped mafia? I really did laugh out loud on this one. I don't know why it's pinging you, though.

 

No matter what, I find it scummy to post without fully reading the thread. Means you don't care about the information in there. And town should care about all that information before making a vote, ideally.

 

@Hallia, I saw that you were online, so I knew it'd bring you straight in. Timed perfectly, imo

 

Also, Hallia, I know you said that there was no way Eldrick was mafia, but then you agreed with something Sili said about Eld's vote on the next page? What are your thoughts, now?

I don't know where you're getting uncomfortable from. I was, and still am, amused that this is getting so much attention.

 

As for why I explained my unvote, something pinged me about his joke read list. I didn't want my vote on a train this early. There's not enough to warrant a lynch. It's still got my attention, though, and am waiting to see more from Verb to form a read on him.

 

Do I think I'm gonna get lynched today? I highly doubt it. Depends on how the wolves want to spin this interaction (unless they are already doing that). If I do get lynched, though, It will be useful to look at who pushed me. Mainly you, but also Darthe. Sili has a little bit, too.

 

I honestly don't care if I do or not. There are plenty more town left to solve this game, and I wasn't expecting to be playing a game anyway. I had completely forgotten I was on as backup. But, since I'm here, I will give it my all to find these wolves. Wheel of Time will just have to not get as much attention as I was going to give it :(

This isn't a given, and should not be assumed as such. It's almost guaranteed there's a cop/seer/whatever you wanna call it in a basic game. Whether or not they have a N0 peek is only know to them and the mod. Therefore seer cover is still a good idea.

Eldrick's vote did seem bandwagon-ey, but he did retract it pretty much immediately. I'd normally take that as misplay, and i'm certainly not going to hold taking Darthe's play seriously against him as it is only due to other games that i know it was probably a joke. 

 

Votes notwithstanding, Eldrick's accusers are Alanna, Darthe, Sili and Hallia. Possibly NotBob as well. Five people gunning for one target on Day 1? I'd say you could guarantee one mafia in that list, if not two.

 

The only other lead is supposedly Verb's activity (too active and then not active). Still not overly interested in that argument as i don't think it would be that indicative. On an activity note, i have services all day tomorrow so might get a chance to check in by mobile between rehearsals, but probably not around til Monday. 

Hallia wasn't gunning for me. She had an issue with me bringing up N0 peeks. I agree with the rest of that list, and your observation that there is probably at least 1 wolf in it.

 

Verb's activity isn't an issue. He doesn't play on weekends. We will have to wait til Monday to see how he responds to all this.

I was pretty confident that my first post would be interpreted as "wolfy" no matter what it said, because I am a wild card with no established playing style to compare to.  My safest bet would have been to say absolutely nothing until someone specifically asked about me, then apologize and explain that I'm still getting the feel for this game.  But that's boring.  I was only going to do that if I was wolf, like I said in my wolfy post.  :(

Ok... Here are some of my thoughts so far. 

 

Dae seems towny to me for having some good observations on the gameplay. 

 

Alannalynn also seems towny to me for good town process and just pointing out things. 

 

 

I'm on the fence with Eldrick. I know he has rolled mafia like the majority of his games that I've played with him, but from his gameplay so far I don't know what to believe. It was a strange vote/reaction on Verb. Like you've all pointed out, it has more to do with his comments after than the actual vote during the catching up phase. 

 

Heart feels a bit like she did in Middle Earth when she was mafia. I can't really pinpoint why. It's more a feeling right now. 

 

I feel about Talya like I do with Heart, but I felt like Talya was mafia in Middle Earth and she wasn't.

I don't think how you catch is necessarily indicative of your alignment, it can be personal choice. I think voting someone because they do post whilst catching up is a stretch.

I do read the whole thread before posting, I don't like saying things that are already said, and I want to bring something new to the thread if I'm going to post. As to always being in catch up mode, I'm not always always.    I have a job and tend to miss all the more active times, but am generally free on the weekends and early mornings.

 

Why don't you say things that others have said? If you see something you should say it as well, it looks bad if a day later you say you thought that a that time, about something that happened in Day1. If you repeat, someone you repeat someone. Why are you worried about agreeing with others?

 

Eldrick basically always posts in catch up mode, w or v, so that's not indicative IMO.
