Sorry Eldrick..

/snip/

But does this approach make her wolfy, or a really aggressive town trying to light some fires and get this game rolling?  Her [Alanna's] individual posts almost never sit well with me, but when I look at them as a collective I am totally comfortable with her.

/snip/

I was rereading this post, and wondering what this part meant? I feel like I've heard it before recently but I can't quite recall where.

Interested to see where this goes...

Unvote, vote Eldrick

Wondering what the turn-around was from this post? You seemed to be agreeing with Shad but then jump on the Eldrick train.

Well that makes sense.  Shad definitely isn't stacking cards here.

I LOL'd

More of the lesson from the rule of holes.  Eldrick didn't learn to stop digging.  With that said, at least we had a clean majority lynch where we can tie votes to players...mine included.

Thanks NB.

For the record, didn't like the Talya hammer. Actually, didn't like that whole post. Besides the fact that she's been rather condescending towards me this game day because I don't know how to play mafia (and others in other games), her setting me up "if Eldrick flips mafia, don't put her out of the picture" or something of the sort. Just feels weird. This reasoning that we could have been mafia together and I threw him under the bus to give myself more credibility was probably the most ridiculous thing I've heard all day. More logical line of reasoning would be "if Eldrick flips town because of this, go after Alanna because she started it all" but of course, she couldn't do that because she was pushing the lynch all day too. Food for thought.

Sili's conduct concerns me. The presumably jokey "i'm not lynching these guys" could be simply a joke, or it could be trying to bail out teammates - in this case Darthe who has come under suspicion. Darthe, i have little read on as there are minimal substantive posts, so I don't want to definitely put these pair together, but it just doesn't gel for me. The way he held off on the Eldrick train until later could be he was seeing which way the wind blew, picking his target and giving the bandwagon more steam as a Mafia ... or it could be he simply waited for the evidence. I'd say i'm leaning Mafia here but only slightly. Definitely keeping my eye on him though.

That is exactly what I'm doing.

I'm feeling pretty comfortable with Eldrick so far.  "While listing everyone as town doesn't sit well for me, it's not worth lynching over" is an awkward statement, but maybe just a weak attempt to prod Verbal?  I like his style of self-defense.  It felt natural, common sense, nothing to hide.

Alannalynn voted Eldrick before he ever showed up to the thread.  She hopped all over him after the above quote with shallow accusations, seemed like she chose her target first and dug for incrimination afterwards.

Darthe voted Eldrick for his obvious joke post "Town reading too many people so early", not the awkwardly-worded unvote.  I don't like that.

Since I don't know any of you, it's hard for me to say much about Alannalynn or Darthe here.  This might just be their styles to prod people early on and get better feels of them.  I don't think I'll be voting Eldrick any time soon though.

It would be nice to see Verbal put out a little more content, since he's on the hot seat too.

It meant I didn't like your post-by-post approach but I thought you had honest town intentions.  So far I still do.

So when I read your individual posts targeting him, I thought "these aren't good arguments.  This is woofy."  I didn't agree with them, and it turned out I was right.  But this was before he really dug his grave, and the more I thought about it, the more it seemed to me that you weren't out to get the guy lynched, you were just out to get a good read of him.  Since the results gave me a good read of him, I could hardly complain.  His initial responses to you were what cleared him in my mind.  His descent from there followed a predictable pattern of irritation and hopelessness/apathy without ever really breaking character from my initial town read.

On that note, I'm guessing there are at least two wolves between Darthe, Sili, Notbob, Verb, Daetirion, and Talya.  Not ruling out a Darthe/Sili/Talya triumvirate yet, but I'll need to see a lot more to develop strong feelings about the latter two.

So was Eldrick.

If that's how town plays we will earn every bit of the loss.  Onus to look town is on players, not the ones who vote them.  Our only job is to clear ourselves and discern who warrants votes.

Thought this would be inconsistent, checked, it wasn't.

Eldrick/AH wolves.

I'm at least half right here.

Doesn't go all in on Eldrick until a bit later.

I'm playing poorly in a way that I'm afraid isn't very obvious.  I'm a very passive liar.  I like to scheme in the background, but when it comes to directly engaging someone I feel really uncomfortable.  The only way to protect my wolf game in the long run will be to drastically tone down my village game, make the two less distinct.  But I figured, first game, I would just give it my all and, if I made bad reads, at least my blatant honesty about them would clear my own name.

It's not working out that way.  I guess I should ask: what do you think makes me woofy?  I don't think you'll find a shred of inconsistency in my approach so far, so if I'm lying I seem to have a very organized plan which is nevertheless ineffective.

how long have you been thinking/watching mafia?

I didn't know what it was before I registered here.  It immediately struck me as something I would really enjoy, and I signed up in one of my first posts.

I've definitely had a lot of time to think (and overthink) about this particular game though.  Wife's been a little ill the last few days and can't take her full turn with the baby, so I've been watching a 2-month old for like 20 hours a day with nothing but books and internet to entertain me.  I'm actually still up from last night (it's 9am).  o_o;

I feel your pain, brotha.

Good news:  due to this being a slower game, it should be easy for us to do a complete re-read for D2.

The night was quiet for the most part. Back on the derelict spacecraft, the huge dead creature shifted. From the shadows, someone came forward to make sure it stayed dead. Once the sun rose, you went to see if you could find out what had attacked Kane. You found the Space Jockey dismantled on the floor. Satisfied that you could get no more information from the craft, you made your way back to your ship and told the rest of the crew what you saw.

Yates, Space Jockey - vanilla townie, has been killed.

It is day, with 11 alive it takes 6 to lynch.

(sorry for short scene, just had a massive project dumped on me.)
