Anyways, I'm asking because it just seemed strange to me that you would list your peek in green and then reveal it later, and it HAPPENED to be the person that Darthe peeked.  I couldn't help but read it as a possible situation where you had to go check who his death spewed town and then use that person as your own peek.

 

Especially considering she was presumably null WITHOUT the peek factoring in.

My whole take on AtE is that it isn't really a real tell for anything. Unless a player is specifically trying to make you feel bad as a way of emotionally manipulating you, it turns out that most human beings are intuitive and feeling creatures and it can leak out into games. Take EP last game for an example - do you think he was trying GRAND SUBTERFUGE using AtE as a way of getting people on his side? No, he was an upset human being doing upset human being things. Sometimes it is genuine, because people are people.

 

Obviously the issue here at hand is that villagers are probably a tad more likely than rand to get visibly upset in game of lies and liars (not that a wolf can't get upset he's getting lynched, but it's harder to sustain that sort of frustration when you know people are actually right), so it becomes a "villager tell", which long-term means that wolves need to learn how to fake it in order to clear themselves. A lot of this is lumped into the "how to fake tone" discussion.

 

So you need to sort through "emotional play" and figure out A) if the player is genuine and B) if the player is upset because they are a villager. I failed and doing A) and B) for Sooh and feel bad for failing, as I sort of like being right in these games.

 

As for my meta, I do not think I use "AtE" but I also acknowledge I am an emotional player, especially as a villager, because I get emotionally invested in games because I have #INFP problems. So generally if you think I am AtE-ing, it's not an intentional "play" - I am probably just telling people what's on my mind and attempting to be transparent and it turns out when I say what's on my mind the INFP stuff comes out and I sort of wear my heart on my sleeve.

 

As a wolf I can try to emulate it because it's a pretty crucial part of my villager game and my wolf game is about emulating my villager game but it's one of the spots where I am probably a lot less convincing. I would just ignore it, unless you think my attitude is out of place in context with the game-state, and look more for my reads and if I'm making the sort of reads you believe I would make as a villager. Unless you really want to INFP it up and try to read me emotionally, which is honestly a very taxing way to play the game and not something I wish on other people.

I find it odd that your focusing on this. Are you having a hard time with the fact that I was going to hold it? Cuz as I explained above I said D1 why...holding off can be more beneficial to the town. I liked the argument for that.

So the argument that from your POV Cass and dice are likely scum from a strictly POE consideration.... is awesome and all.... but it doesn't really work for me. 

 

 

Can you explain the first paragraph? I don't really understand what you mean. Why does Darthe being town mean Tress is town? And why do you think Darthe didn't have cop equity?

 

Darthe was killed after "peeking" Tress.  If she's mafia, she (and her team) decided to shoot somebody they KNEW wasn't the cop - because Cop!Darthe wouldn't have gotten a Tress town peek N0 - over somebody that COULD be the cop.

 

I do think Darthe had cop equity.  Tress being mafia would have given him no cop equity.

 

Does that make sense?

 

Fwiw I expected Nyn to be the NK almost every time with how D1 played out. I guess the Darthe kill isn't surprising necessarily considering he was pretty consensus but not expected yet from my POV.

Because I think he would. You have to be careful about investing too much into emotional responses from players like Cory who are emotionally driven. The stuff he was saying earlier about wearing his heart on his sleeve is true, but I think that reflects in either alignment. It's my belief that Cory dislikes playing as a wolf. I don't think he'd disagree. That dislike stems into his game as a wolf and with it carries a certain undertone of hostility imo. That was the impression I got when seeing how he was handling a few players like Clov/Verb early on and then later with you towards EOD.

If you honestly don't think I'm working hard enough AJ, I don;t know what to tell you.  I'm feel like I'm putting in a lot more effort than I should.  I don't have as many scum leads as I'd like, but given that I've been town hunting more than usual and that I was wrong on Sooh, that's not exactly surprising to me.

 

For the 4 in your PoE, I'd say FMPoV, Cass is the most likely scum at 3 to 1 odds over Cory.
