Cass I asked you something earlier about how much you and Monstr are talking. I get that you both are apparently busy but off the top of my head I remember you both mentioning the same players but having seemingly opposite reads. I'm curious as to how much you guys are discussing things

Not a lot tbh. I've been as suprised as you that our reads have differed as much as they have, it's a trend I'm hoping doesn't continue.

@Cass - you say old time's sake with Monstr.....do you know him from somewhere else?  I get the impression you sorta know people from elsewhere, but I've never been clear on where.

Maybe 'old time's sake' was a silly way of putting it, but the gist of it is I have a soft spot for Monstr because he was assigned as my mentor before the first game I played and he basically trained me up/ran me through the basics of the game. Since then we've been Skype friends but I've only actually 'played' (read: failed at) two games with him - a Turbo and a ginormous Mish-Mash, both at PoG. Other than those games and one more attempt at a PoG Mash, I've never played Mafia anywhere else.

The other people playing here that I sorta know from elsewhere are Dice, Thane and Sooh - who I know from the Social Group side of DM, and Tress/Hally from mafia here and Skype.

I see a lot of questions coming out of her, but not really what I'm used to seeing from Cass. She's very condensed and I'm just getting a weird feeling.

The weird feeling I understand. I am feeling very condensed myself and I'm not at all comfortable because I have way more questions than answers right now, and I don't like being this behind/overwhelmed/unsure.

What are you 'used' to seeing from me that you're not seeing now, that wouldn't previously have come from TMI?

We've played in a few games together, so I'm not really sure what you are getting at with the last question there.

I'm trying to figure out how it's valid for you to push me using the idea that you'd be 'used' to knowing how I play.

IIRC, we've played three games:

- Tommy's Top Tier - My first game, where you were killed super early ?D1;

- Arthurian - Where I was killed pretty much immediately after subbing in because I was Lover-linked to the night-shot target; and

- Warehouse 13, where we won together as Scum.

The only full game we've played together was when we were both scum, so I find it strange that you're pushing doubt on my alignment here based on the suggestion that I'm playing differently to what you'd be 'used to seeing' from me.

You just locked your self in blue.

The thing i have noticed,  particularly when i answered him above was that I cant point to anything and say thats typical yates. Aside from the pumpkin thing but that was kinda meh to me actually cause id seen it before.

His posts that I responded to can definetly be taken 2 ways and im umming and ahhing which way to go. I shouldnt be doing that with him.

I do want to see his response tho before i vote

Dicey, let's chat?

The bold concerns me a bit - Why would AJ pushing Yates lock him blue, given this is multiball? Why would !TownDice hesitate so much on his broYates, and then... wait?

Cause I was thinking the samething when i came upon his post.

and Cause im was not voting Yates without giving him a chance to respond. he didnt even know i was iffy on him yet. His response may have cleared the issue for me

Re-doing this quote to avoid whatever format error has happened above.

Also re: Dice...she's cautiously piggybacking on Tress's reads.

Meh.

Tried to comment on a couple of things during my lunch break today, but my data network on my phone was being uncooperative and I lost a couple of posts and ran out of time.  Not that there was anything earth-shattering or profund, to be frank.  I'm generally lost D1 in large games, and there are far too many of you in this one that I either can't read well (or at all), or haven't said anything that stuck with me very long.

If I were to make a reads list, it would be nearly all null, with a few mild town leans due to gut feelings, and generally completely useless.

Not sure on Dice yet, which has me slightly worried - I'm usually pretty sure of him when he's town rather quickly, but I don't know when was the last time I played with him in this size of a game as town so I'm not sure if it's due to the size of the game or the alignment in his role PM.  We were both in the Avengers: Age of Ultron game, which was 24 players, but he was mafia there, so he was characteristically hanging back.  Most of the time when I'm sure about him it's in a smaller game where he's able to be more front and center, but I feel like he's less opinionated this game than I expect from Town!Dice.

Other than that, though, my own opinions are hazy, so I can't get on his case too bad.

Getting warm fuzzies from Hallia, Seph feels pretty natural to me, I feel like I can follow Tina pretty well, Eldrick isn't striking me as particularly scummy (which is a change, so probably a good thing)... I'm cautiously optimistic about AJ, Verb and Leelou both look townish.

Sili and EP both baffle me as always - EP looks to be pulling one of his classic dubiously beneficial schemes, which I guess means he's probably town.

I won't be able to wrap my head around much here without a couple of flips to narrow the focus and provide some hard info.  If there's something in particular you'd like to draw my attention to and get my opinion on, I'd actually appreciate the help.  I skimmed most of the day today from work on my phone between actual work, and I'll probably have to go back and re-read chunks of the game to figure out what was important.

Cautiously with you on Dice, Tina, Eldrick and maybe even Verb and Leelou so far here Tress (though due to game size I'm happy to give Dice a little longer to warm up before getting too worried).

Can you elaborate on what you mean by 'his classic dubiously beneficial schemes'  in the bold on EP? Eg. Can you give me a run-down on EP's usual Town/Scum play as you know it?

Cass #1522:

"Dice was one of the two reads I specifically pointed out in that interaction, and for what I believed at the time was good reason: Tress's overall tone made me feel like she was being deliberately non-committal, and she specifically/individually hedged her reads on Dice and EP, without doing so for any of the other players. Both of these players were concerning me slightly at the time, so I interacted looking for more info and reactions. I don't see how you're interpreting this as piggybacking?"

Leelou #1525

"The fact that you were cautiously with her on her reads, but you weren't really expanding on why you felt that way."

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can kind of see your point there, but realistically, Tress was hedging and I was beginning to doubt her alignment so at the time elaborating further myself didn't seem the best way to go about getting information about her alignment out of her.

I'm not used to seeing you wait lol. And it wasn't so much that you didn't wait, but that you didn't turn around and address Yates directly yourself - something I've seen you do before if you're getting the vibe he's scum. I also found it a little strange that you'd lock clear AJ at that point, when I hadn't seen anything that made me think he was particularly Town.

Add this to the fact that you hadn't been seeming your obvious !TownDice self in other posts and I was beginning to get concerned that maybe it was being Scum instead of RL weighing you down...

FWIW though, almost everything that I've just read of yours in today's posts screams the !TownDice that I know and love:

Wait, who am I kidding, you're burying yourself without my help.

'shakes head  see below Sili

Waste as much time as you want.

See this? it = Tress is Town. i'd back off if i were you

Sooh,

what's your opinion of me?

I want an alignment, a role, and a reason from you.

And I want a very specific reason, and I'm telling you that in advance, because this isn't me asking you to town read me. This is me asking you to prove to me cory is town.

Cory isnt playing in this game. Sooh is. You want an opinion ask her.

only up to page 59 and have a wicked migraine and work all day  will do what i can

the yates lynch stinks.

@yates  I want to see you town it up cause right now im concerned you're gonna have to be lynched again. Liking what i have seen of yates 2 so far

And as yet I've never seen you replicate this tone and aggression completely as Scum.

So, yey?

Just got to post 827 and I just want to take a moment and go "AWWWW Lauren's using muted skittle puke!!!!"

Also since I'm outted anyways can I go ahead and share my character for funsies?

Please don't.  It would give me HUGE lulz if some scum tried to escape the noose by fake claiming YOUR role... lol

Also, not only did I know you were masons but I already knew which characters you were.  So far I am 2 for 2.  Your flip will almost certainly make me 3 for 3.

there is just a line I want to say that only makes sense if people know who I am, but it can wait. Not pertinent information or anything

Cass, how certain of you those are your only games with LeeLou?  If what you said is correct...

also whatever that formatting issue is up above is really hurting my eyes and brain.

Yeah. I have no idea how that happens but it does from time to time. Whenever I see text running along beneath an avatar I have to hold on to something to keep from getting vertigo.

Just arrived at work so this will be my last post until later tonight.

EP you talked about having Leelou and I as suspects because you think the Zander NK points to someone who would know your playstyle. I'll refute this later when I search all my games on DM to show we haven't played together but I'm still interested in the theory.

the theory behind my poat was that I have a reputation for drawing heat for my playstyle. Meaning people familiar with this would want to keep me alive and wifom other ideas such as cult, which I might add you have already thrown into the mix. Your mentioning that was the first flag I had that you aren't town. Of course you'd want that little word out there when you're expecting to have a confirmed town still alive.
No?

Idk where you're getting this from but show me, if you would. Like I wanna see the quote you're talking about that gives you this impression because I have not mentioned there being a cult once this game.

maybe I was thing of Andrew Lee I guess Andrej may not have played a game with me, however I think my points still mostly stand.

Yeah, I knew you were mistaken there. This is our first game, but granted being a DMafia player for some time now I have heard things about the great Firebird. Fwiw I didn't have a hard time figuring you out early on.

As far as your points against me go, the only one I would say has any real merit is that I look bad for justifying against Yates.1's claim.

The other two are mistakes on your part. Idk who or how you keep mixing me up but the last two things you've pointed at for me being scum have nothing to do with me.

Oh, I accidentally pushed the multi-quote button.

My thoughts on his post is he sometimes worries to much about being the mislynch, and I wanted to know how Cass was doing.

In what way?

In a are you being analytical in your hydra QT way

Sili, I'm not sure what you're getting at, or why... I am doing my best to be analytical and keep up with the game and I trust Monstr is too. Both of us feel like we're letting the other one down by not doing a better job so far, but we're encouraging each other and trying to pick it up. Does that help? If not, can you ask a specific question please?

I guess in me is the vibe that a town hydra is ultra-game solvey, and I wanted a piece of that action because maybe it would help better my read, but of course it's you and monstr. wtf is the point in getting you to share reads from the other when you probably talk about fake reads in scum chat XD

did someone ever tell you people that you all post too much?  i need to read more than 50 bloody pages to catch up... *frustrated*

and there'll be more like that if i wake up tomorrow and find another 20+ pages... i swear

Well, you are going to. So...get used to it?

or i'll just wait untill half the game is dead and play from then on? makes the postcount easier to follow

Or we could vote you and make it even easier on you?

you always can, by all means.

also calling it refusing to play is unfair, i do have a busy RL at the moment, and just can't keep up.

Then ask to be replaced.

no.

you just have to get used to me not being around that much.

And with this short interaction, i wonder why i bothered coming here during working hours.

I get your frustration Thane, but I've never seen you post like this (bold).

Is it really just volume? Have you picked up anything in the stuff you've managed to read/skim?

I find it interesting that Leelou is the one strongly pushing to get rid of Thane because of his lack of contribution. I don't know if there's something there, but it caught my attention.

Agree with Sili and others on this. Gut feels was this change made El Town, until he answered the question with awareness of what he was doing, and ended the sentence the way he did - last game I played with him, he insisted he plays the same regardless of rand.

What I actually said was I didn't expect my game to be different. Clearly, I was wrong.

(Please ignore the following empty chat bubble. Format is being stupid)

You are probably remembering when I mentioned cult, during the speculation or there being a recruit.

I agree that this game is a lot harder to keep up with. I have read everything at least once, and reply to recent events, but I know I have missed a lot. I have today and tomorrow off, and intend to reread this whole friggin thing.

Regarding Thane, it's true that lynching him won't give us much information, but that really only matters if he's town. Is his level of activity and unwillingness to contribute a sign of him being scum? I think it might be. For now, that's where my vote goes.
