You don´t want to be civies for all your life. You want to earn points and become soldiers. I have some points for you. I think I might have 30? Hm... probably. Maybe...

Anyway.

If you have joined in the last two months then you can write me a shadow poem and hope that I enjoy them enough to give you 10 points. Post it here. You can make a simple poem that rhymes, a haiku or something more complicated. Know that I´m of the Shadow faction and expect something shadowy and evil. WoT related is always good.

Go!

And the rest of you.... well, spam my thread. :D

Example,

Shadow poem

shadow shadow where are you

Why you move when I throw

A squirrel casted a Shadow too

While there was a loo.

Light poem

Light Light so very bright

Is it left or is it right

Does it fly like a kite

Or does it bite?

See poems don't have to make sense at all put sound good.

Well the TinaHel went down to Georgia

She was lookin' for a soul to steal

She was in a bind 'cause he was way behind

And she was willin' to make a deal

When she came across this young man

Sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot

And the Tinahel jumped up on a hickory stump

And said, "Boy, let me tell you what"

"You probably didn't know it

But I'm a fiddle player too

And if you care to take a dare

I'll just make a bet with you"

"Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy

But give the TinaHel her due

I'll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul

I think I'm better than you"

The boy said, "My name's Cirteap

And it might be a sin

But I'm gonna take your bet, you're gonna regret

I'm the best there's ever been"

Shadow and light

Why do they fight?

Neither side will win

And yet we see this sight

Again and again and again.

Logain and Taim

The names aren't the same

As from the war of power

When nearly everyone had three

like they just grew on trees

Like oh so pretty flowers.

Shadow and Light spoke words upon awakening,

"Let there be no strife between us, only reckoning.

Take the day astride and part it asunder.

Let lightning cap the cloud, may dark storms thunder.

Crown the morning with glory and guide the dusk to slumber,

Bring hope to night and cast the day's final number."

The accord had been reached, the truce settled,

Light burnt with valor, Shadow the lurking nettle,

The golden Sun struck the Moon's lidless eye,

A hundred waters drowned the endless sky,

The Creator looked on at the pair's joyful ruckus,

Smiling, He decreed, "Let turmoil be forever thus."

Speaking of which...

Melville's Marginalia! http://melvillesmarginalia.org/front.php

Digital scans of Melvie's personal library and his scribbled notes in the margins, catalogued and documented. Hence, why I write in books. If Melville can write in books then, dammit, so can I!

that is very cool!

I bet he'd have loved highlighters.

If you made threads of that process you would have a zillion points and we would learn something of writing perhaps.

perhaps not but it would be an interesting read.

Now if only I was native English... I actually write poems too every now and then, but writing in another language than my own, even English, is very hard, at least when writing proza. And I think poetry would be even harder.
