Being a ship's mechanic sure is hard work, Kaylee thought, but it's more fun that just about anything I've ever done.  And ain't that Simon just a sight for sore eyes?  I sure do love this job!

 

She was feeling mighty perky as she strode into the ship's galley, looking for a bite to eat.  What she found was the rest of the crew, standing in a tense knot, watching her with guarded eyes.

 

Captain Mal was the one to approach her.  "We've got us a problem, Kaylee.  And it ain't hardly a small one."

 

"What's the situation, Captain?"

 

"Someone's sending signals from this here ship, and it ain't to anyone friendly.  We've got ourselves a traitor around these parts."

 

Kaylee blinked. "You think it's me?"  As she looked around at the glares of the other crew, it suddenly dawned on her.  "You all think it's me."

 

She was surrounded and roughly herded to a holding cell, but there wasn't going to be any sort of trial.  There ain't no real justice in outer space, after all.

Because what bothered me most about you was that I got a feeling that you knew Thane was gonna flip scum and you were setting up Tom for a mislynch later on. Seeing as that's not the case, because Thane flipped town, I tend to believe that you were just weighing in the possibilities of what you'd infer from a scum flip. In a nutshell it makes you look better.
