I hate waffling.

I would've rather just lynched TG and looked like a tunneling dumbass than sit here and flip flop on every person's post. At least I felt sure there.

Unfortunately the Mafia team aren't the only players with QTs in this game.

Food for thought imo

In that case, I hope GF left some breadcrumbs for his buddy to use to LOCK CLEAR as his partner in the AM. IN THE AM.

If we just lynched TG and you're wrong though, we don't have a whole hell of a lot to go on for tomorrow unless people came at you as "revenge", if you will.  This has been a pretty productive day phase for discussion.  A few players I'd like to hear more from, but that's mafia.

Actually - I have to think about the above. Maybe not claiming unless in peril is the more optimal strategy. But that crumb has to be out there and solid.

Sup, back from stuff. Hows it going?

Yates I havnt forgotten about the Arsis quotes, but for now I want to just point to the last few pages and say thats what hes been doing all game.

GF - You've been playing for 15 years or so, yes? What would you think of someone that you had seen as Town in a bunch of games suddenly completely change their playing style in one game? I mean, I agree that it isn't a great argument but there really isn't much to go on Day 1 other than gut and speculation.

Really? I just don't like your excuse for not posting. I suppose it is possible that you truly believe the thread needed to sort itself out. But I [obviously] am one of those people that will watch for a few posts - to make sure I don't interrupt a trap or something - then drop my opinion. If you don't post your opinions, no one knows what you are thinking. If no one knows what you are thinking, how are we supposed to read your slot? So to my mind, silence is scummy - or at least not pro Town.

There's also the fact that you came in only after I mentioned you as a possible lynch candidate. I really just said that to see if you were paying attention to the thread. I guess you were.

No, no, I've been at Dragonmount close to 15 years, but that's 99% either WoT book discussions or those at D&D. Well, verbosity btw is appreciated at both, makes the context for arguments more clear as long as one sticks to the point with it. Have the mafia boards been here how long(?), at some point probably 4-6 years ago I noticed them and eventually tried, if I hazard a guess I've played 15 games. Not that many, and never played more than one at a time.

Yea, silence is anti-town unless there's a reason for it. We do, however have deadlines, a deadline in 2 days says to me there's no great urgency to post in the first day.

So I'm assuming your "reason" for silence was to observe and let the conversation unfold so you could analyze it later. Did you post an analysis of those observations?

So what are your conclusions then?

Well, there's a lot of it as always, but I just got the feeling that aside from AJ and clov, key and yates seem townish to me (it's potentially embarrassing giving these tellings, cause one ends up being wrong sometimes, but I suppose one has to learn to ignore that.

I've been wary of des ever since a potential buddying attempt at the beginning, the discussion enforced my thoughts that he might be mafia too, aside from lenlo. I don't know about arsis, clearly he's having fun but also doing what he's doing intentionally. I remember once as mafia trying the ploy of doing so, didn't work for me but he might be better at it, and he could be town but finding the game a little overwhelming (a lot of words).

Not sure what I think aside from that.

Does mafia make statements like that?

Hmmmm.

I have no idea on GF. I dont remember playing with them before, Ive seen them around DM abit but that doesnt really mean anything for a mafia game. Id prefer to lynch Arsis, because hes been just... GF has been quiet yeah but Arsis has been useless bordering on distracting.

One can be fixed or atleast be useful at times, the other... doesnt look like it will stop anytime soon.

FYI we are ~9 hours to deadline. So regardless of how you define "urgency" I think we can both agree we are at that state now. I urgently request that you post your observations of the game and reads. If you flip Town? Maybe one of those posts will prevent a mislynch in the future and save our entire Town thus your death will not have been in vain. Don't you want to be a hero? Like a Viking?

I already did as much as I have anything bordering concrete. The rest would be mulling in the head, but who knows when that should be fruit. One can observe and analyse as much as one wants, but it in no way guarantees one actually gets anywhere. I am not about to make statements around just random guesses, I think everyone in this game could be playing a brilliant mafia game and completely fooling everyone of town, or the opposite.

Everybody COULD be, but this is a game of decisions - you can't just twirl your thumbs and sit on the sideline.  Abstaining from casing and voting is essentially giving one of those brilliant mafia an extra vote.

There is NOTHING concrete in mafia except a flip. I don't expect you to be perfect and I'm not looking for guarantees. I really just want to know these thoughts mulling around in your head. Maybe you see something I don't? Maybe you've considered an angle I haven't? Just GUESS away. Some of the best reads I've ever seen were for no other reason that "I can't explain it, I just felt that way."

Another thing scum do is to try to hide behind "safe" play. Scum make statements that can be backed up, supported, verified, but they don't take stances or make their opinions known because they don't want to get into arguments with Townies that disagree with them. Because those arguments attract attention. And scum don't want attention.

Well, I posted as much as I caught yesterday. Now I don't care to bring up new thoughts, cause that is too likely influenced by getting many votes in rapid succession. I don't have a proper read on Hallia, and am not going to think she lead an overtly obvious effort to lynch me instead of arsis or lenlo.

TG (1/7): Des
Dice (1/7): Clov
