Once again, Tommy is assuming that Darthe and Des (or is it Womby) are town with this statement.  Only mafia know for cereal who is town and who isn't town. 

 

Also, while I was having dinner, something occurred to me about Tommy's claim.

I am a PARANOID GUN OWNER. If a townie tries to investigate me, they will DIE. Given my current position in this game it is safer to just lynch me and confirm my role that way. My hope was to push a scum lynch on Dap and draw the night kill and take the offending scum with me, but it now seems that won't be possible thanks to tweedle darthe and tweedle des. Given that, I don't know what else to do but claim and kill myself.

 

Great job guys, seriously. Top tier playing all around.

 

I hope you at least take my reads into consideration. I believe my blue colored town leans were correct.

 

Everyone should consider this.  If you were given this role at the start of the game, would it have been pro-town to act like Tommy has been?  If I were a cop and Tommy avoided the D1 lynch, he would have been one of my prime cop targets.  With a role like this and being aligned town, I wouldn't be so gung-ho as normal.  I would have played a much more reserved hand.

 

Also, notice the wording of his role.  "If a townie tries to investigate me, they will DIE."   While the "granny" role (or PGO) is commonly a town role, its his wording that bothers me.  He specifically states that if a townie investigates him, not mafia targeting him.  If this is the case, this sounds very much like an anti-town role. 

 

Or better yet....BULLSHANKS.  I don't buy it.  I think he's reaching.  Now that he has thrown RTE under the bus after he preached his towniness, I think Tommy is the way to go.

Dawn has questioned me a LOT. Yet it isn't just her suspecting of me that makes me worried she could potentially be scum, it's that she changed her reads to partially coincide with mine, yet STILL has me as a scumread

 

Quibby thought I was scum I'm pretty sure. Doesn't matter, he still looks LOCK CLEAR to me.

 

Darthe even questioned me for a bit, but looked a lot more like paranoid townie than scum waffling to me, hence the town read

Now, contrast those with these:

 

Red put out a "case" on me as scum, and tried setting up a Thunderdome with me and Tommy. Later said I was LOCK SCUM. Shows complete unwillingness to use new info or posts to adapt that read. Says "Yeah, those other people are scummy, but Despot is scummiER" without saying in any rational way why

 

Tommy had a pretty simple reason to suspect him (his gauntlet throwdown with Cory, then backtrack, etc), yet when I vote him, he immediately votes me... then begs for me to read him as town. While leaving his vote parked on me. He has tried acting like that's no big deal.... but it is. Plain and simple. Then he later says I look town for my "passion" yet even tho Darthe displays very similar passion, Tommy continuously acts like Darthe is scum, but that I'm still town.

 

RTE voted me but scolded me for being a bad townie pretty much.

 

Wombat voted me and said that I was intentionally dropping scumtells, I wasn't, then he tunnels on me, then mystifyingly switches off me while still making it seem like he could go back to me

 

Tsuki votes me and says it's because there's a gambit between me and Tommy, then does more of the "berate Despot for being a bad townie" routine, and also never explains why he voted me and not Tommy

 

Does no one else see the difference in how these people handled their read of me?

 

This isn't to say I build my reads SOLELY on how others handle me. But it's DEF a big part of my early game, as I am such a polarizing player and good at drawing out reactions

I just thing Tommy is more valuable to remove early for three reasons:

 

1) The two of you prefer for you to die first.  That means that if I am right about both of you as scum then it's better to take out Tommy first.

2) He is the tougher lynch.  As time goes on lynching him will only become harder, not easier.  More people who are against him will conveniently be NK'd etc.  

3) He is a stronger player.  Bigger threats etc.  Honestly he should take it as an honor.  He is someone I consider enough of a hazard that I want him dead sooner rather than later before he can sway minds.

 

His claim is also complete WIFOM if we let him live.

Sorry Des, you are godawful at reading me. Which doesn't necessarily change how good you are of a mafia player overall, but should at least give you some pause or reflection. You're letting your ego get a little too much to your head lately.

 

RTE, you specifically are absolutely HORRID at broadcasting your towniness when town, so if I'm "bad" at reading you then imo the fault lies entirely with you. You have a reputation as being an absolute scumtastic townie. Like a game someone already referenced- when you were hydra with Lenlo, he came off as absurdly townie, but you came off as ABSURDLY scummie, which muddled the read on your slot for some (I decided to go all in with my town read of the Lenlo part of your slot). This is even more ironic considering you actually had BETTER reads than Lenlo that game.

 

Additionally, all this "you suck at reading me blahblahblah" could just EASILY be AtE on your part designed to make me doubt my read on you or others without actually doing anything to make me believe you could be town.

One of my tinfoil hat type moments, but to me this looks like a bit of guilty conscience type thing from RTE- if he's apologizing for antagonistic play (as in trying to antagonize me as scum by calling me lolbad, etc). Just more confirmation of Tommy's scumminess fyi. This is such an incredible misrep of how I play it's absurd, Tommy is all in with his "Despot is bad!" scummy defense. For instance, I think the "third vote on a wagon" "scumtell" is just stupid as hell, and I have NEVER tried using that reasoning to support a case of mine (well, at least not ever in recent memory, altho I even doubt I used such a "scumtell" in my mafia youth). Others of these are legit scumtells, but Tommy tries to paint them in an absurd light to just make me look lolbad.
