Okay, I basically read this thread in two disjointed mindframes as I was focused on the 2+2 game, so I'm trying to get a deal of consistency and follow the narrative of the game. I think by the sheer resistance and silences we keep having that we're actually pretty close to nailing this whole damn thing and are missing a few pegs.

A couple of things I thought were intrinsically scummy narratives:

A lot of players do not want me and Tommy working together. Specifically, Amega and Darthe taking their sweet time messing around with both of us; Darthe goes @ Tommy and looks to me for support despite me and him seeing the same things most of the game (which seems lazy as hell) - Amega trolls the shit out of me several times for the first few pages and later admits he did it for lulz. This is about 70% of his content in the first 15 pages of this game - he taunts me on my misread of Tommy in TRW over and over.

Me and Tommy felt pretty good about each other early due to our hydras being more transparent than we typically are. I think there is a very good chance any scumgroup that has seen me and Tommy play together and work in our weird synchronizing way would realize this is a bad thing for them.

Unfortunately, posting half-hearted (am I allowed to use another word there?  What exactly is PG-13?) reads that I'm not sure if I'm supposed to take seriously isn't enough to get me to clear you.

For example, in the last game Tommy did the #teamalliance thing and was Mafia. Do you associate this with his town game?

 

Well it had a radical effect on you last game and i even hinted at it and you swept it under the rug.. Maybe you should distance your self and get a clean perspective to properly discern your bromance's alignments in future games.

Amega literally goes out of his way to taunt me in the first talking to Tommy, his scum partner from the last game. You translate that as "Oh yeah, you were good at getting lock clear because Cory crumbled to your playstyle" - I have not even spoken to Amega at this point in the game, but his first point of contention is to troll me using Tommy's play as reasoning. When I address him - you guessed it - the first thing he says to me is that I'm bad at reading Tommy and should distance myself from him.

 

I remember backing off @ Amega at some point, will need to reread the second half of this game to see why I did that.

Also bother the goddamn hell of out of me because this seems to be a way DMers say "this is scummy" but Amega never actually handles me as a suspect. Instead his focus is simply baiting me and trying his damnednest to piss me off for seemingly no reason and even admits so when called out for it.

But the reason is in the post he states: he's attempting to make it seem like one of me/Tommy is manipulating the other. Veiled or not.

He also explains his new "post style" comes from him being mentored. Tommy, you were scum with Amega/Cloud in that game, was there a lot of Cloud-mentoring-Amega going on? I read that Mafia QT and I didn't see anything like that at all.

I don't know why this #alliance thing gets brought up again and again. I have seen their games and althought they act all buddy with each other D1, they usually get against once the game progresses. Just a distraction talk.

That said, I have barely seen Tommy as town. That too in one game which did not have Cory or others. So, nearly impossible to determine his alignment just on a few pages in D1.

i got mentored so i have been trying to change my style to be more effective and less of a hindrance that should explain the posting style change and pretty much eliminate that last post of yours.

Did not see any change in your style of posting IN the game you were mentored on. Why would it suddenly change here?

First i never said i had figured out either's alignment. That was not the purpose of the post. I have only played a couple of games with both of them together and it seems their relationship is a factor in discerning alignments. Cory answer'd and stated that being friendly with tommy was the best way to discern his alignment after a few days. Which makes sense, even though i feel that the other party could manipulate this relationship if they tried hard enough. So no it wasn't distraction and it brought plenty of content to the thread. Why would you want to stifle that information and how people view their analytical process of each other?

 

Second. I saw it change and so did Darthe. You being mafia and probably not being majorly concerned with the words i was writing so much as a way to reply without incriminating yourself might have a factor on your opinion. I will continue to change my style as long as i play. It can easily be as radical as one day. My motivation and effort per game will have impacts on these

 

@nyn I said that for the sole purpose to irritate Cory since he dictated what i can say, and see what he would say in his current mood.

 

@tommy that is a solid catch on mish. I wasn't particularly concerned enough to comment on her vote.

I'm aware you were the mod, and what? How do you feel about Amega, do you agree his posting seems a bit off here? Do you think it compares favorably to Red Wedding?

I do have some hestiation on lynching Amega.

1) He's already posted more volume than I'd expect. He lurked a lot as scum with me.
2) I remember him being an underwhelming townie, so it's possible this is just how he is.
3) Mish's vote on him bothers me because she MQ'd a bunch of posts yet none of them are about amega. I may even vote for her to get some more action going ITT.

You don't know Basel so you're unused to his meta.  He sucks at playing as scum (though his GF is a different story).  He can't fake anything really and that makes him fun to read.  He typically tries to overcompensate and thus ends up making very safe posts as mafia and he will throw himself out there and look scummy as town.  

 

 

I'm already pushing people to not auto-clear you like normal. You're making a lot of posts to make everyone *like* you which transfers to clearing you really quickly, especially for people who aren't as experienced.

Does it bother you that I am hesitant to give you a town-clear and am intruding on that tommy?

I noticed this pattern of Tommy's play in the Heir to the Empire game. And he was scum then.

 

Here I found him matching my voice.  I know there was one other instance where he said something I agreed with on thread but tbh I can't find it in the seven posts he has.  I actually could only find three going through the thread.

I liked this from Laya.  I find that mafia has a harder time putting on aggravation without overdoing it etc and he isn't experienced enough to confidently think to fake it I don't think.
