Happy with my partner's vote on Mynd. His idea of focusing on hydras only is terribad, his scumhunting in general is weak this game, he isn't prodding people like he normally does but is instead hedging his bets a lot. Also his overuse of flavor spec to decide how he feels about Red's claim is discomforting to say the least.

 

 

How am I hedging my bets?  Just because someone used that word doesn't mean it is true.  I've only now ##unvoted for the first time and AFTER a claim.  I've actually been much more consistent this whole game than most of the very HYDRAS you are saying I shouldn't be worried about.

 

Naturally, I assume all hydras would think that focusing on them would be a bad idea.  What is truly "terribad" is to allow the mafia this advantage. 

 

Consider this:  Which is most likely?

 

A) No scum among the 7 hydras

 

B) All scum among the 7 hydras

 

C) At least two scum among the 7 hydras

 

 

....and next question, if you would please humor me, of the hydras, which three would you say are the most scummy to you?

 

 

One example of you hedging your bets is with Red. She could be scum, she could not be. You're just making ambiguous empty statements, and then flavor speccing instead of trying to use gameplay to flesh out your read more.

 

And I'm not playing that dumb game. Try harder to keep redirecting focus back to your bad idea about hydras. It amuses me.

 

Fact is, hydras don't really have any greater chance to be rolled scum or town, for each one individually. So all this gadgeting talk is essentially accomplishing nothing.

 

And fyi, hydras are actually a bigger advantage for town. More voices = more opinions being given and more eyes to look for stuff. It's like getting two scumhunters for the price of one. And if the hydra is scum, one of the heads will likely have to fall into #damagecontrol mode to try and defend their partner, giving another dynamic to potentially catch scum.

 

 

They would be ambiguous statements if she wasn't the lead lynch train.  I don't think she's scum.   If I did, I'd have voted her.  Am I 100% convinced? Not at all.  What many people fail to do is to answer my follow up question.  Why is Red the lead lynch train?  What has she done that has been scummy?

 

As far as her claim, I don't buy it.  That doesn't make her scum either.  As I have stated numerous times, it is entirely possible for a townie to claim a lesser role to save themselves while hiding the fact that they may have a much more important town role from the mafia.  In a game called the Red Wedding, would you tell everyone that you are Robb Stark?

 

Think objectively about all of the games you have played.  Ignore how bad you want me to be scum, just think back.  When has a lynch like the one on Red with such weak reasons been helpful to the town?

I never said she made it seem like that. I didnt feel like quoting everything everyone said about it so I said my general feelings towards it. Besides anyone character claiming is most likely hoping it will make them autotown, such as when someone called her LOCKCLEAR with her claim earlier.

 

So no im not misrepping anything. If I wanted to misrep it btw why would I quote it for everyone to see right there? Makes it rather hard to misrep if everyone can read the original. Would be much better to just say it so that the lazy people dont go back and read it. So you and your book are wrong.

 

As for you disliking my catchup posts thats natural. I have you/Wombat as leaning scum along with people you might think are town. You dont care about the points, just that I am aiming at dif people than you.

As I've already said, I'm not "rustled" about being today's lynch. In my experience when I've been run up D1 you spend too much time thereafter unproductively trying to recover. I think it's a bit rude to lynch the bride on her own wedding day, but as we're vanilla town it's no great loss, and all kinds of good info for tomorrow.

Did I say it did? What I said was we're vanilla so it's not a huge loss if we're the lynch. Which if you believe Red's claim, we probably should be instead of the claimed PR. I put it out there because someone was sure to ask for a claim before it was too late. So now you know.

 

I don't know precisely what to think about Red. As I mentioned in my quick and dirty reads list, I have a hard time reading her as town because of the way she picks at every small thing and often makes it look worse than it should. It's usually hard for me to determine whether that's misinterpreting or intentional mischaracterizing. Since I've been reading Wombat as scum, I had a gut feeling he was pushing two town trains. If Red's the lynch and flips mafia, that calls for throwing my gut read into the spin cycle and taking a fresh look.

 

The claim seems plausible to me. Could be a solid fake, but I can't tell.

Here's a conundrum imo.

Her "allegiance" is to Frey, the obvious bad guys here but Roslin herself was not a "bad person" iirc but she WAS aware of the plan and allowed it to go forward. There's also the consideration that she was married to a Tully so would that change anything?

 

How do we consider this? As a "bad" character or a "good" one?
