Red, if you ever read this: let's talk some time about things that happened in this game. Somehow, you believing the reason I started hard-defending you on Day 1 was because I had an investigation on you (Sorry, me and AJ were more focused on trying to investigate scum) and then saying things like "any cop worth his salt would check me" might have actually been the most frustrating moments in the deadthread for me.

 

 

there were a lot of things about D1 that made me the perfect finders choice D1.  the fact that i was scummy but didn't get lynched, my claim, my play style, my interaction and how vocal i was on thread.

 

my play style always makes me an earlier finder pick in games i play in.  i always make sure to be active and get interaction with the game, regardless of alignment.  that way when i flip town in a game, theres a lot of info for the town to use in cases and reads on other players; and if i flip scum, my mates have stuff to work off of and theres a heavy blanket of WIFOM

 

as for the condescending bit about not fake claiming; i disagree.  i've done it before now, for different reasons, and i'll do it again; both as town and scum.  its a tactic and i use tactics to my teams advantage.

 

 

 

I thought you were pulling an ingenious scum play where you claim Vig and have Red protect you so when we shoot you, Red ends up dying instead of you. That's part of the reason why we holstered. We didn't want to accidentally kill Red and waste our last shot. Which again comes to show how both of your false claims could have cost us a Vig shot. Luckily it all turned out for the best but it was touch and go for a moment there xD

In fairness, I don't pull that gambit if Red didn't fake claim. I was 100% certain Red was faking and didn't think for a second TOWN would screw over Town like that so I *HAD* to assume she was scum. I was trying to put scum in a tough spot and did my best to telegraph the gambit. *shrug* Best I could make out of the TERRIBLE situation Red put us in.

What's important is that you listened to Kat and made the right call. And, as they say, "almost" doesn't count except in horseshoes and hand grenades.

i haven't played mafia in about a year and i was not only playing this game and being active (when i stated i wouldn't be) but also managing to get straight A's in my college class.  what's your excuse for being derptastic this game?

Red the issue is that you SAID I WAS HARD-DEFENDING YOU ON THE LATTER PARTS OF DAY 1 BECAUSE I HAD A COP CHECK when IT WAS STILL DAY 1 AND I OBVIOUSLY COULDN'T HAVE EVEN HAD A COP CHECK

 

and when me and AJ did do checks, we checked Mafia, and not derptown

Red, you made a mistake, but eh it's cool, you hadn't played in quite a while. I do wish that if you fake claimed like that to stay alive, that you at least had followed it up with more activity, but eh RL happens.

 

Either way, people that said things in the dead thread and post game were just very emotionally invested in the game, that's all. No one was trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

dude you didnt start really defending me, and by defending, i mean suggesting that someone else be the lynch other than myself.  and yes, when a player that goes from harping for your lynch, to flipping to being your #1 supporter; and then said person flips cop.  its a good assumption that said Cop viewed you and knows they can trust you because they know yer town at that point.

 

and yes, as Despo said, i do contend that i was a better NA target than who you chose, though i applaud your instincts as cop.  just for the sheer game related content surround around my interaction and the amount of WIFOM knowing my alignment would have cleared up at that point.

yeah i didn't realize that the game would move 2 game days and a billion pages from a day and 1/2 break *nods*  but my finale took priority.  i wasn't expecting his game to start up until after my finale XD

 

i'm not arguing i played a good game, i'm certainty not up to what i used to be, though i'm proud of how well i kept up activity wise.  but i'm also not going to go around blaming my shoddy play and derptastic moves on other players.  to go ape on a person while still in the game is going and your in the game is one thing; to go ape on a player after yer dead and the game is over for you, shows poor character and poor sportsmanship imo.  

 

it is a game after all, and not worth getting that worked up over.  its not like we have money riding on it or a scholarship or anything.  and mark me, there is a big difference between venting ones frustrating and going full ape.

Red, you were not in any way a better NA target than potential scum. There wasn't really that much wifom that would have been cleared up on you, after all more wifom could have come up since people might have thought you a GF.

 

You (fake) claimed a vettable role (which was one of those derptastic moves), viewing you would have been a COMPLETE waste of a view

 

And townies should NEVER want to or try to draw a viewing from the Cop- they should ALWAYS try helping the Cop select good targets for potential scum by trying not to look too scummy themselves. Some Cops will want to verify the nulls, others want hard scum viewings to work with.

 

I think you're making the mistake of thinking most of the game revolved around you the whole game- it didn't. Not trying to say this to be harsh, but I think your perspective on the game was kinda selfish. You fake claimed a protective role to save your own skin, which affected how other townies developed their reads (they lynched the Doc pretty much cause of your claim), and then seriously think you would have been a better view instead of potential scum.

 

Commentary by deadies can be viewed as judgemental criticism, or it can be viewed as people who were invested in the game reacting to events and plays from the game. If I play poorly, I look at the spectator chat as being something that can help me improve. Even if there's nothing specific I can take from it, I try using it to motivate me next game.
