Clarthe aint LOCK CLEAR btw. Threw that out as a reaction test, and both failed. Also wanna point out how funny it is that Ithi calls Cloud out for not saying scum enough, then when he starts going "scum scum scum" in his next post she pats him on the head instead of fos'ing him for it. LAWLZ. I'll go more into that later.

 

So I thought RTL might be a good place for scum to be hiding, since they seemed to nudge a bit early on, and plus RTE threw out a big post that tried being good... but wasn't. The reads post I mean. Was bad. Rull bad. However, like the theme of this game apparently, Lenlo came in to damage control and posted a VURRRY townie-looking catchup post. They're looking town now to me. Gj Lenlofinger.

 

J-TAG stinks to me. TG doesn't have much content yet what little he has isn't good at all, and he's usually pretty vocal as town. AJ is a mess. Normally I find that when he's town he thinks very similarly to how I think as town, catches some of the same stuff and has the same opinion on stuff. This game that's not happening at all. I find myself disagreeing with almost everything he says. As far as his vote on me, it's turrrrrrrrible. It's literally one of the weakest pushes in the game, yet he acts like he has very strong scum reads.... If that's the case why isn't he pushing his case on us harder? Why isn't he quoting us or pressuring us himself? Nope, his vote was little more than a snipe vote when he first placed it and he has left his vote parked there even tho Verbal and I haven't been active and there's a LOT of other stuff going on. Then you get his whole defense of Strawhats... yeesh. Steerrong scum read on J-TAG.

 

This post is more what I would expect from you Des, not a bunch of #yoloswaggins crap. I agree with basically all of these (minus me) for different reasons.

 

I think Turin is playing a very strong town game. Ithi is bulldogging as per usual. Leno definitely redeemed his slot after ditching the jokes and actually posting some content.

 

The thing with you and me will hash out I believe, if you're telling the truth. I know I am town, so there's that. Neither of us have really been in thread at the same time yet, so that could be where our differences come from. You say that I haven't pushed you or Verb, which is true, but you two have also been GONE since the beginning of the game. I stated my reasons for why I thought you guys were scum, it was like an insta-scumread from your early posts. The sudden quietness also made me uneasy. Posts like this do make me feel a little better about your slot though.

 

As far as leaving my vote on you guys with tons of other content, that's my choice. I didn't find the StrawHats train very compelling (seeing how it's Amega and a newb) so I questioned it and those on it. I'm not afraid to go against the grain. Look at some of the 'reasons' StrawHats has been voted and you tell me if you really think this lynch is going to end up with a scum flip.

 

Now you have this whole weird vote/unvote and claim debacle that doesn't help anyone. I can agree somewhat with what you said on setting them aside for today and lynching elsewhere since they can be held accountable now to their claim.

While I do consider the cases made against them, I cannot discount the fact that Thane is still a newbie. I feel that the more he tries to clarifies himself, the more he is being pushed to a corner. I have been in situations like that when I was starting out here. That was one of the "easy" lynches I was talking about earlier when the biggest trains were one the most vocal teams and the newbie team. Amega hasn't exactly been able to reverse Thane's predicament either. Also, Amega's claim as a tracker is a risky one. Not only that there is a possibility of a counterclaim but it is very difficult to go on with it as we go further into the game. If he is lying, he will be caught sooner or later. You also make a good point of him being a scum tracker, but that could be tracked using a cop or other investigative abilities. It is not a wise claim as a scum is what I feel.

 

(Also, I don't know where BFG is. She has not responded to me in my QT either. I think she is off during the weekend or something)

 

 

My thoughts mimic Pral's in the bolded section. Also agree with the portion about tracker being a risky claim.

Alliance has NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING to do with out-of-game alliances.

 

It's players who go hard in the paint as town doing enough #work to psuedoclear eachother early to try and devastate the Mafia early. The clearing is done through EFFORT AND TONE, not any sort of outside-metagame agreement.

 

For example, in Star Wars, I know Tom is a skilled enough town player that the risk:reward of lynching him early would be -EV for town. If he's town, he's going to be incredibly valuable, and he's not a poor enough player to do something legitimately self-outing Day 1, so it's a dumb gamble. I was able to recognize he was not town around ~Day 3, which is certainly "soon enough" to catch a player as skilled as him.

What it comes down to is that more can be accomplished by working together than against someone you know well. I can do both honestly, I like having rivals to always go @ in mafia and I like mindmelding with others as well in multiple games. The drama comes later at figuring out who might be playing who if that's the case, but some players you need to slowly build a case on to lynch anyways. It will be too hard to lynch power players early on on little, and if you try bringing stuff up again later people might think you're tunneling.

 

If you instead flip the tables later on before they flip them on you, it makes for some #goodtimes

Holy crap. I just got a scary thought and I had to get it out somewhere

 

The San Antonio Spurs are on a 17 game winning streak right now, tying their franchise record in a single season. Tonight they play the Indiana Pacers, who have lost two in a row after beating the Miami Heat. The Pacers now only have a one game lead over the Heat for the best record in the NBA.

 

What if CIA Pop (nickname for conspiracy stuff Coach Gregg Popovich might do lol) sits enough stars for us to lose tonight, helping the Pacers break out of a mini slump and keep them ahead of the Heat in the East, that way they have a better chance of removing them from the playoffs with home court advantage.

 

Problem is, which would I prefer?

 

 

Spurs could make franchise history with one more win. And they could continue their recent dominance over a better team instead of the cupcakes they've been playing.

 

Then again, it could be nice to embolden the Pacers a bit so that they could unseat the Heat, possibly making it easier for the Spurs to get a 5th championship this year.

 

Then AGAIN, it would be SOOOOOOOOOOO much more awesomer if the Spurs could beat the Heat this year in a rematch of last year's finals, only this time they don't blow it and Timmy D gets a 5th ring for his thumb and goes down as top 5 players possibly in history, and only man in NBA history to get NBA Finals MVP in three diff decades (came close last year).

All this is true

 

Altho honestly, while I do think he's the best PF ever, I think actually the bigger thing about him, is that he's one of the best teammates ever. There's basically no one else you'd want to have your back on the court except for mebbe Bill Russell. Duncan is our generation's Russell imo. A stand up individual, complete class act in addition to being the best player of his generation.

 

A 5th ring would still do wonders for his legacy tho. I think the NBA Gods have been punishing the Spurs ever since we swept their Golden Child, Lebron, in the Finals. Ever since, we have been besotten with injuries and then had to slowly build our way back up to the top.

 

First won a crapton of games in new run n gun style, then when Ginobili got injured right before the playoffs we got unceremoniously ousted by the 8th seed

 

Then won 20 in a row in getting up to being up 2-0 in the conf finals against the Thunder, only to get swept out after

 

Then got all the way to the NBA Finals, only to lose in the last 28.8 secs.

 

This year has to be our year. We put in the #work, it's time to reward us again already.
