I think it's a terrible rule. The lynch is town's power: if you rob them of that power, and hide the modkilled player's alignment, town is even more in the dark than they already are.

That said, let's string up Noldfish if we're not gonna CFD onto someone else. Dude is scum.

The argument is that it is to punish the town for not lynching within deadline. They deserve to be in the dark because they were not active. Or something like that.

Nolder quit. He asked for a replacement.

I'm not gonna go on and on about this forever, but it's my professional opinion that Rule #4 breaks the game. MAYBE on a super-active mafia forum like 2+2 would that be feasible, but not here, and not when our deadline comes right after the weekend when all activity will cease (stay classy DM).

Nolder quitting has nothing to do with his alignment; if anything, it's more indicative of scum who can't keep up.

Which means that town must secure a lynch before deadline and anyone trying to hinder that is more likely to be scum. It also has effects on claim mechanics.

As I said, I dislike that rule, but it's actually quite playable you just need a different mentality an ddeadline strategy like you're used to.

DM has managed quite well with the "random-no coroner" thing being in effect for a while now. If I'm not mistaken, the first mods to put that in felt they needed to motivate people more to actually secure a lynch, cause there were too many people who either didn't vote at all or let it go random for fun. Either way not all mods do it, but it DOES provide added motivation to scumhunt EARLY in days, rather than LATE.

As for Nolder, basically what Tom said. At best it's null-indicative, but from how this played out and everything I think it's a lot more likely he replaced out as scum that couldn't handle the pressure amongst other stuff.

Question is, do we stay on him or his replacement, or give the replacement more time to try and convince us he's town?

I'm all about sharing the love around D1 so screw it, Unvote, Vote TG. WTL Tina or Darthe tho.

Okay... well, if gifs are an issue, just post the link instead of embedding the gif in posts. Spoiier tags won't stop the gifs from being downloaded, so that doesn't help people with limits.

I think spoiler tags are fine, so are links.

I'm on 3G w limited data during the day, and things within spoiler tags don't slow me down or eat up my data unless I open them.

unless someone has a problem loading spoilered gifs I'd say you're fine using the tags. or the links, your call.

carry on

The following players have given me enough reason to not want to lynch them today:

Des

Darthe

Peace

Salami

Golden

Pral

Cory

SickPuppets

The last two are meta reads, you don't have to take my word for it, but you should.

4. Nol

5. Tina

6. Monk

8. AJ

9. TG

10. Turin

15. Kronos

So that leaves this list of people that would be viable wagons.

Players like Turin and AJ I both think are good townies when they try and I wouldn't lynch them today. I've only seen Kronos once and he seemed spazzy there too; I have no knowledge of TG but agree his OP looks bad. Due to my recent history of mislynching townies I'm unfamiliar with I'm willing to give them a day to improve but won't fault people who want to get @ them for their bad juju. Monk is gonna look scummy as either alignment, but his OP doesn't inspire faith in me, and when he uses IRL reasons for not playing he's usually scum.

So my WTL list today is Noldfish, Tina, Monk, TG, Kronos, pretty much in that order.

Gonna be hard pressed to find a better lynch for today than Noldfish. Not only is he lolcatting at this point (that means blatantly giving up, on 2+2 wolves post lolcat gifs when they concede), but we get a ton of info about how people reacted to (or didn't react to) his wagon. Next on me list would be Tina. Random pop ins, ignoring huge swaths of the game, basically doing nothing at all. A few people are guilty of this, but she particularly stands out given the timing of her sidestepping the Nolder run-up completely.

So I'm advocating Nolder/Tina wagons today, especially if we lose info by not reaching consensus.

If anyone on my suspects list wants to pitch in and clear themselves through effort today, that would make POE easier.

How much can you really read from an OP?

The worse ten playing is at lying, the more you can glean from it.

I suggest you start putting in #work if you don't wanna end up a D2/D3 wagon.

If Nol is being replaced then a Nol lynch is out of question.  Whoever replaces Nol will have to speak up for themselves.

As for my reads, I still don't like where Des has come out.  Monk looks bad after coming in, reading the thread and being able to make the "'Sup" joke but then saying he hadn't read enough to comment.  And I stand by my statement that CS was flooding the thread with crap but that doesn't make him scum.  I have a town read on him.

Care to explain why a Nol lynch is "out of the question?" Because, uh, you know... Nold's alignment doesn't reset when someone subs in.

How do you feel about Tina? Would you lynch her?

Posted

We can lynch whoever replacing in for Nol, when that happens.   Until then, at least from my experience, the Mod will remove all Nol votes and that slot basically doesn't exist until someone fills it.

If Nol is mafia then I'd say Tina is teammate especially given how she mostly ignored everything about Nol which has comprised most of the game.  I'd lynch at least one of those two for info.
