Motivation, town or not, would be to jumpstart the game.  And because it is Darthe.

 

But to spell it out...

 

Scum motivation would be to spread some WIFOM and get people jumping.

Town motivation would be to jump start discussion and use reactions to scum hunt.  Of course, you'd have to think yourself pretty smart to believe you could accurately suss out such info...

 

Miller claims come with inherent WIFOM, but I ask specifically where the town motivation was because to me him claiming miller is essentially setting himself up with a possible policy-lynch, which isn't congruent with a scum wincon. It could argued from both sides whether he is a legit miller or scum trying to cover himself. In my experience most miller claims are made after a guilty investigation has been presented, so in this instance, Darthe outting himself unprompted feels town. Again though, WIFOM. I suggest that we leave the claim for now and focus on other areas while also keeping an eye on his actions. If town, he will be helpful and if scum leaving him alive a bit longer could lead us to his partners. D2 or D3 would be a better place to get rid of him when everyone has more solid reads instead of right now. We absolutely cannot allow him to an endgame situation, however.

I thought we were still on the "day 1 joke-votes and spamming"-phase. You discussion your kids are of course a null-tell. But I'm glad to see that you're already suspicious and scum-hunting from the get-go, instead of "It's only day 1 so we are by default not doing anything". (Not related to you, btw, just in general). 

 

 

I just googled miller, and got nothing more to add than AJs reasoning and to wait until further into the game before we even touch that with a stick. It would of course help if Darthe came and outright explained his rational for just claiming like that?

I think we're in a perfect spot with Darthe's Miller claim- he's our backup Lynch today. We still pressure peeps we think are scum, and see what we can find, but if we don't have a good candidate towards the days end instead of consolidating last second on someone or trying to no lynch we just lynch Darthe instead. If he doesn't get lynched today, he'll have a bit more time to try and prove himself town

I actually agree as well.  Millers should die.  I should, at most, only live a few days.  It also says to me that mafia is likely a bit UP so if I can contribute strongly while I am alive then it's going to have a good impact overall.

I'm mainly being unserious, it's start of game. Throwing observations out there to see how people react to them, joking around, picking up clues, seeing who is active, who keeps their head down, who buddies, who distances etc.

I threw out the statement that while the thread is mainly people checking in, saying hello etc. you are being a very active scumhunter. It's an observation, nothing more. 1. The joke on GE is sort of irrelevant to the point I'm making.

2. Observations are fine. When I say wishy-washy I am talking about the ambiguity in your statement. You basically said 'He's active. Could be scum or town.' You're making a statement without necessarily taking a hard stance on it. This could allow you some wiggle room to change your opinion later. I find that suspicious.

3. I don't think my vote moving to you is a rash decision. I have made some commentary on you (about the town-reads) prior to moving my vote after your last post. I can't say 100% that you are scum, but I think you are a good place to start looking.

I think we should leave Darthe be for now but keep him in mind. He's been miller so many times that I'd been wondering if sooner or later he would fakeclaim it on D1 in some game when he was really scum. But that's something that when you look closer, is really nuts for scum to do. It's too risky that town actually would lynch the alleged miller to get the wifom out of the way, and scum will start off down one. I'm going to say the second bit outweighs the first one, and call Darthe tentative town.

yes i agree we might end up testing Darths claim by lynching him at some stage in the game.... but we could leave it for day 2 or 3.... there are 13 players alive so i dont think its a desperate situation to test his claim today
